I have a degree in anthropology that mostly qualifies me to be unemployed. Anthropologists are supposed to study cultures that have existed or exist presently, but I love the concept of trying to understand future cultures that don't yet exist.

I was wondering every day when you would start another audiobook series. Your readings made speculative biology and evolution accessible to so many people!

I saw the thumbnail of that one video "All Tomorrows vs Man After Man" and thought: "wow, there's another story about the future of humanity that is directly comparable to All Tomorrows? Anyone else think the description of "Humans artificially change the world to suit themselves" is a bit of a weak argument? So do termites, and beavers, and Spiders, and anything that changes or shapes the terrain around them. Furthermore, we are natural creatures, as we come from nature. It is in our nature to use tools, and therefore what we construct with those tools are in fact part of nature. A building is a building, regardless of if it was built by a beaver or a human. We arbitrarily divide ourselves away from nature, perhaps due to a cultural distaste of the "material world" and natural functions introduced through religious dogma and indoctrination of the zeitgeist. Now, is that to say that what industry has done to the earth is not wrong? Of course not; the way industry and human greed has devastated the Earth is appalling, and we have a responsibility to take care of the only planet we know of that has been the Cradle of life.
