Clearly the police were not intending to cause him harm. I think they obtusely didn't believe he could not move and treated him as if he was being uncooperative instead of considering he had had a freak severe injury as a broken neck. Do pray for this man. God cAN do miracles. 🙏 Whoever mandated that the van without seatbelts or airbags? Or padding? ...be used to in conjunction with handcuff compromised suspects... That is where the majority of the liability is. The officers were initially following their protocols i suspect?

I had that happen in the USAF. Nobody believed me when I was insistent I had caught pneunonia. Was being cussed out during the "blow into the tube to keep the ball floating" test. I couldn't even breathe and could barely talk, and kept being yelled at that "if you can talk back then breathe properly." I ended up blacking out and waking up in Wilford Medical hall, where I had a vapor tube lodged down my throat every 12, 3, 6 and 9 AM & PM for a week straight. Would have been nice to've been heard in the first place.

The Mayor Lied to cover for Police and came up with there was no seatbelts. But there was Seatbelts. You can see them in the video. The officer just didn't use them. They hardly do on subjects. So sad.

Regardless of it being the result of an accident, the police will absolutely be liable for this given the video shows clear seat belt restraints and the officer willingly ignored using them knowing the risk. Then while it may not have mattered given the impact, the way they moved him during all that time from the van and station to finally getting help pretty much insured there was zero chance to recover. However unlikely. This was extreme negligence on a pretty big scale. He may of had an illegal firearm, but unless they find out he commited some other crime with it, there really isn't a good enough excuse to explain away the lack of training I witnessed. They even said the van wasn't equipped with seat belts, yet, there is clearly straps back there, so I'm not sure if this is bad reporting or those serve some other purpose in the back of a van designed to detain people.

They probably made it worse, it’s possible to save a person from that extreme amount of paralysis but they messed him up big time. No neck brace and shock his broken neck like a rag doll. He was done for at that point. Pure carelessness.
