I hope they did NOT tell him he's cured! That kind of Lymphedema Never goes away, because it's a result of the interruption of the flow of lymph fluid, by scar tissue, or the absence of lymph nodes needed to process the fluid. Since this is an anatomical condition, you can't "cure" it, you can only manage it. I suspect this man needs medical grade compression stockings to be worn 24/7, possibly for the rest of his life. If he's lucky, he can get to where he can keep the edema under control with daytime compression stockings, and daily MLD.

Sounds like a parasite, Filariodidia family I think there's two or three that can cause this? The testicle- swelling and growth of legs like this, as well as fever and illness sounds pretty indicative to me 🤔 Anyway, even if it's not that worm in this case, it's still a really important parasite that people around the world need access to treatment for - when people stop being able to work and provide for themselves and families they can lose everything and getting a leg and illness like this is absolutely debilitating.

*_This was no tumor._*_ This was elephantiasis which is caused by parasites called 'filarial worms,' more specifically, nematodes, that live in stagnant water from...human filth._ These critters burrow into your skin and block your lymphatic system, causing the fluid to pool in your extremities like this. If this man had a tumor, he'd have come out of theatre with a massive scar down the inside of of the leg where the 'mass' was. If you look closely to the area when the doctors manipulate it, there is no evidence of 'a tissue mass.' What it is is a huge bag of skin that they drained rather than excised, which is why his leg sagged, and looked like the stomach of someone who lost a great deal of weight, which is what happened here. The "MLD" (manual lymphatic drainage) and it is the first time the doctor gives away the fact that it was not a mass or tumor but a swollen bag of lymphatic fluid. It's almost shocking to see how they misrepresented this man's condition all the way through this video. I can only think of one reason why they would lie and keep using the word 'tumor,'...and of course I'm guessing here, but I'm a nurse and my guess is a highly educated one because I've seen this condition many times, and the evidence overwhelmingly points to elephantiasis caused by a parasite; this disease is generally found in the 3rd world and is absolutely only possible in water contaminated by raw human sewage. I don't imagine it does much for the tourism industry telling people that they could potentially be exposed to such filth, and by extension, coming home with one of these. The doctors were probably shocked that this patient was allowed to get this bad inside their "improving medical system," and end up on a British medical drama, exposing their little secret, so they did the best they could, hoping to slip through the cracks and go without notice. Tsk Tsk.
