*Dragons Den when someone comes up with a cure for cancer:* The long term profit margin isn't very big and the name of the product isn't attractive, for those reason we're out
Most effective natural cure for cancer is foods high in cyanide (bodily cells can get rid of small amounts, cancerous cells try using it and die). Mixed with encreasing higher amounts of "whole plant CBD extract". And lots and lots of water, fruits and nuts and non processed foods. Extremely important to go to dietician because these diets do have a toll on your body but this toll is negligible if following the right diet. I said most effective because the sad reality is it might not be as effective for some cancers or in later stages of cancer, its a horrible disease that deserves much more attention scientifically.
Shark tank will rip you to shreads and then give you exactly what you want. The Dragon's Den demolishes your dreams, executes you in the parking lot, and then steals your invention
brought to you by the person who ran away and lost their mother once as a child in the store.

If he marketed the trix game as an educational game or something for early development like kindergarten to grade 4 he probably would have had a chance
He probably has to much pride and convinced it's a super fun game for adults. But I agree if it was advertised as a kids game for education it probably would sell better
the first one is genius! alzheimer and dementia patients could have way more freedom to do things with such a device because it would notify the person caring for them if they use dangerous electronics. sure it could always use some improvements or modifications for personal taste, but the idea is really good. it just needs different marketing.
I thought it was neat. It's not supposed to be Life Alert so Idk why they were all up his ass about it. You wouldn't know if Nan was okay at 4 AM either way. What do you want, strap a monitor on her?
Yeah, it was honestly a pretty good product. Plus, knowing she's dead a few hours after is a lot better than finding out weeks later. They were treating the coffee machine like it was meant to call 911 as soon as she dropped.
@@imperialguard451 It does let you know when they aren't okay. If it's been hours since they usually would have pressed the button and they still haven't, they're probably not okay.
That first invention would be brilliant for dementia care, knowing when a dementia patient is attempting to make coffee could stop a few burns. My grandmother has Alzheimers and even making a hot drink is becoming a struggle but she tries very hard to stay independent, we can’t follow her all day so knowing when she’s using a dangerous appliance would be very useful.
@@Uvuv6969 I didn't want to be the one to break this to you but...you can't recover from dementia/alzheimer's, iirc it's literally your brain deteriorating and as of yet nothing can be done to reverse/prevent/cure it in any way.
i don't think so, he didn't say trix has 2 teams. and it's still quite different because it's much simpler(no big grid with hidden leader card). It's completely fine and doesn't count as stealing, plenty of idea borrowing and shared mechanics in the board game industry.Definitely a commercial overlap however which is yet another reason to not invest.
Don't question the artEEst, he did it for a good reason; he's showing us how life is all fun and games until suddenly, some asshole comes along and cuts it short.
*design game that's clearly for a younger audience (children) Middle aged man: complains the concept of game doesn't appeal to him and find it dumb Jack: *visible confusion*
@@mathildadeer that's not how copyright works. As long as the products are in different industries they can share a name. Apple records and Apple tech company for example. (This was said in a reply to a comment above this one)
Take game that already exists and slapped a name on it that already exists = profit. "I've been doing this for three years and never realized my game is just shitty codename named after a kids cereal"
It was kind of drowned out by the other talking but the guy was saying something about 4+(?)million of those lids selling per year. Versus the game which only sold a few thousand in three years. That's the difference.
@@lifeo981 the game could be replicated with a sticky note pad and a pen. Not only could it be replicated, it could also be done 500X better by someone with a sticky note pad. because mr sticky pad could add a whole bunch of other words that would spice things up. Feculent, belligerent, Testicular, fecund , shortstack, bimbo, sniveling, etc etc etc. so many words that could have made this a game that anyone could play. Meme edition (spicy memes) singer edition Historical figure edition Naughty edition
They were writing down the fact that even before going to the Den, those guys already had made really good success with it. 4 million of those lids were sold in the last 12 months from what one of those guys said. They were writing down the information he was giving them to later ask about it or keep as a kind of bulletin list of things the product has accomplished
"I'm sorry to be really candid and rude, but I think we got off on the wrong foot." JESUS, think of his family! That was savage! Forget about financial recovery - they won't ever emotionally recover!

Honestly the first product was a great idea. Unless you're going to strap a vitals monitor to your elderly parent 24/7 then you can't get much better than a device that pings your phone when they get their morning coffee/tea.
@@senorlopez1412 my grandmother cant use a phone, cant wash dishes, cant even put on the tv, but can make herself a cup of tea. App isnt that bad, just not market worthy
I don't see the use case here. If you're that worried about your parents, why not just call them in the morning? In the scenario where they can't use a phone, literally can't pick up a landline when it rings, what makes you think they have an internet connection for this thing to work through? In the case where your parents do have phones and internet, imagine trying to tell your parents what this thing does. Mom: What does that do? Kid: Oh it texts me when you get your coffee in the morning so I know you're okay! Mom: "Oh, why don't I just text you in the morning?" Kid: Uhhhh, I don't actually want to talk to you.
Exactly, and the dude's point was kinda dumb. Of course you can't know what's going on with your parent's 24/7, but it's still better than nothing. And, unless your parents are really old or aren't in good health conditions, there is no need to cantantly monitor them.
CopperAirplane Let me tell a story on how my girlfriends grandpa died, my girlfriends parents had just spoken with the old man, around 10h latet he fell and broke his back and neck. He lied there for 3 days even though family is veru close and talked and visited often. If this type of device could have alerted that something wasn't okay he might have been found earlier
My Mom saw me watching this video. She looked right at Charlie. And you wanna know what she said? She said: "He looks like Charles Manson." The fact his name is Charlie, did not help.
Charles Manson has a lot of unknown children out there. Maybe not Charlie himself, because he was born years after Manson was already behind bars. But Charlie’s Parents though...
To be fair, those dog piddle pads are super common in apartments and places without a garden in Australia. Didn't realise they were in dragons den, but seems like they're doing pretty fecking well
I was confused about that one tho, what does that even mean? Of the many things you can criticize om board games, size is just stupid. and also so easy to change
The FoamAroma is one of those inventions you come up with when you're high on the couch at 3:37 am watching adult swim but you still thought was actually pretty good.
I worked at a coffee shop with foam aroma lids, and they do nothing different than normal to-go coffee lids. The whole point is so that the aromatics of the coffee or latte can still be smelled while you're sipping, but the only people who will notice that aren't going to get a latte to-go. Hell, they might not even get a latte in the first place
Charlie your voice is too loud. I cant hear what they are saying in the background without your voice being like a thunderous hurricane. I cant watch this, even if I want to.
The peeled boiled eggs never made sense to me until I met people with neuro problems who cant peel them for themselves anymore. I met a parkinsons who cried with happiness when she could eat a boiled egg without asking for help!
Many years of research have lead to this stunning development. A hole in the lid, so you can drink from it. Before the hole was there, it was difficult to drink from the cup, requiring the user to remove the lid prior to use.
When you look in the comment section of the Trix episode, it's littered with the best point against him. Codenames exists, which is a game that is just Trix but on a bigger scale and teambased. Oh, and actually fun!
The cettle thing is actually great. As firefighters we have to open doors for the police, and there are so many cases, where we find people after weeks of rotting, because noone cares anymore. Sometimes old people fall as well and I have had a couple of cases where we were only notified after a few days, and they were in critical condition when we helped. So someone just checking on you every morning is great.
I have taken the coffee lid product and developed it to it’s ultimate extreme. I expanded the hole until the whole lid was all hole. I call it... the “cup”. (Patent Pending)
i just wanna say that the pre-boiled chicken egg idea is already a thing in germany and it's so widespread that you can buy pre-boiled chicken eggs in just about every store that sells eggs in general. clearly these guy are missing out on some untapped markets.
“Doesn’t say what it does on the tin.” Not that I’d thought of it first, but I’m still glad someone realised how literally applicable that was to the game.
I dont have much context for the first one, but honestly. As some one who took care of their deteriorating grandparent living in basically the same house until they died, it's a big help. He did say you can get it on any appliance, so i figure you'd use more than one. Knowing what the elder person is doing also is a big help, my grandparent was forbidden for using the electric stove for example, but they would forget often and almost burn something up. So if I've had a text saying yo stove is being used. I dunno man. Looking at it from a lens of living with a deteriorating elder. Feel free to correct me since I don't know the full context of the gadget
"This will help you know if your mummy is okay after making a cup of tea." *senile elderly mother wanders into garden after making tea, falls and breaks her hip* If only she could manage to fix her broken hip to get back to the kitchen to use her Earl Grey Life Alert.
Uh as a guy whos granny had alzheimer's and turned kettle on with no water on, that first one is useful imo EDIT: not to mention burning her hand and shits
Reading the title, I immediately assumed this was the onion. As I glanced at the channel, I was petrified to the core upon the realisation that this is nothing but the harsh, cruel reality parodying itself.
