Similar story here. I was about 14/15 years old. I was swimming in the wave pool at a water park for the first time. At some point, there were so many people in their tubes/floats that I was surrounded by them and forced underwater. While having no air in me, I pushed through to get out of the pool. I had swam in lakes with waves before and taken lots of swim classes, so I am a relatively strong swimmer. But I did not expect the large crowd of tubes to push me under and leave me with no space to breathe or vision of when the waves were coming. Thankfully I got myself out of the pool and then just sat while regaining my breath.

my father is a paramedic and has done cpr on multiple people and it always worked, it really depends on the person preforming and the person getting it done

Yes this could have been a horrible thing to find your son drown in your own pool. You have a pool you should know the risk having small children. This is probably not the first time he got out. Parents need to be held responsible having a pool and the dangers it can cause for children.

It was a boy and a girl playing outside the fenced pool. The boy saw the kid jump into the pool and told the girl to go for help, and then the girl run to ask her father to help the lil boy. As it show the boy, the girl and the father are the heroes bcs they all help to save the child in different ways.

This is why I put my autistic 4yo son in ISR swim lessons. Mine loves water too. The apartment complex needs a better gate if small kids can slip in. Kinda defeats the purpose of having a gate

drowning is really terrifying. and the more you panic the more it gets worse. I had a similar experience before when i was 7 or 8 years old. The streets are flooded and there was an uncovered manhole. I have never hated water but during that time the water seemed like a demon with intent of killing you. I gasped for air but only the cold dirty water goes in my mouth. The water was flowing so aggressively and I tried to grasped anything I could around me, around that turbulent chaos where you dont know if you are upside down or what, luckily there was another uncovered man hole up ahead where the water is more shallow. I grabbed the ledge of the hole and pulled myself forward against the current. that's how i got out of it. my nose smell like sewer water for a week

I kept renewing my First Aid certificate in case I needed it with my children. Now I'm too old to do it, but I still remember a fair bit of it.

I almost drowned in a lazy river in a water park surrounded by people and inner tubes. It was one of the scariest and most traumatizing experiences of my life, I felt so utterly alone even though I could reach out and touch hundreds of people around me. No one cared to help me. I hate water parks now and won't go to them anymore.

A few years back, my nephew was around 9 or so and we were all in the pool, my sister who is his mother, my nephew, my niece who's older, my sister's friend and her soon who is my nephew's age... we were getting ready to leave and the adults, and older niece who would have been around 16 at the time were at the other end of the pool from the two boys, my nephew threw the boy into the deep end playing not realizing he didn't know how to swim without his floating device, the second he did it we all noticed, and my nice jumped into the pool, but my nephew went right in after his buddy and pulled him out before anyone else got there. We were all paying attention, and went right in after him, and still its very scary how easy he could have drowned if my nephew who was there playing with him wouldn't have been such a strong swimmer at such a young age. So imagine when people aren't paying attention.

I almost drowned in the ocean

I was in my late teens when at a water park wave pool I mistimed the waves and jumped up when the wave was high and went down when the wave was low. Luckily I could hold my breath long and didn’t panic but was close to needing air. I watched the wave from under the water and came up with a low wave to get my head out. I swam to the ladder and got out and realized I was lucky I didn’t drown. Never will know if anyone would’ve noticed me.

@Mariah Fox I am six feet tall, and yeah I am not a great swimmer, but thought I would be able to handle it, cause I saw a little kid who weighs so much more than me do it, and when I went to the nine ft side, oh boy was I wrong, the water just sank me, and I was like a fish that wobbles when there is no water... but yeah, stupid move by my part, I thought it would be easy..

My best friend, when I was three had an inground pool. I learned to swim at that time, then I had to take swimming lessons at five. I became a life guard in High School. At least my mom got me swimming lessons but the mom of the inground pool would have done it for me if mom didnt. I was always in this big bulky orange life vest.. but this child can not understand swimming lessons, unfortunately.. so, people have to really be on guard for him.

Do you have children? Have you ever met any? One of my old friends had to install a slide lock about 5 & a half feet up on her outside doors because her 3 year old son kept making a break for it every time he thought she was the tiniest bit distracted by say, laundry, cooking or other household tasks that you typically need 2 hands to do so she couldn't hold onto him & that didn't even stop him. She was sick to her stomach one day & ran to throw up. In those approximately 3 minutes it took to puke, he had dragged a counter bar stool to the door & got it open to escape again. Some kids are just like that & no amount of shaming someone who is trying their best will make it any different.

Massive heart attack but he also died. 2 HORRENDOUS situations that still upset me 28+ years on! Its not something you ever get over!
