I wouldn’t say that exactly. More often so than not, police refuse to work with pred catchers because they don’t want to enable vigilantism. There’s a documentary on Vice featuring Dad’s Against Preds, & they cover that to a T (also recommend their documentary on Canadian pred catcher Justin Payne). A lot of times these preds walk, but there have been convictions in some cases..

Not angry with the teens confronting the predator. Close net communities where we look out for each other creates a village. No one touched the man or came close to him. Didn’t understand what evidence could have been lost on the “crime scene”.

The police know how to get these guys locked up. Raising awareness is good. But the police should be the ones making the stings so that the creeps can go away for as long as possible.

They are following adult influencer's, but they know justice isn't given very often too. They did risk themselves, but they weren't out here committing crimes, so although I don't recommend a repeat, I do commend them wholeheartedly! It is an action that had meaning, but please be safe teens!!
They no doubt have his computer(s) and HD's/SSD's. They will also have his phone with tracking data showing his whereabouts on any given day. Odds are pretty good that if he was bold enough to make contact with an underaged girl that he'll have incriminating evidence on his digital devices.
A perfect example of doing the wrong thing for all the right reasons. These kids probably watched a couple of the predator catcher channels on RU-vid and thought they could do the same thing. What they don't understand is you have to be very careful and you have to do things "by the book" - otherwise none of the so-called evidence is even permissible in court. You can easily end up in a situation that can be viewed as entrapment and there goes everything you work so hard to do . Not to mention the fact that a lot of bad guys carry things that go bang and aren't afraid to use them if they think they're going to end up in prison with an "S.O." title over their heads. Good job guys, I totally respect the effort but please don't do this again, at least not without involving some adults that know the rules and that can be there to protect you if need be.
I'm grateful to the teens. If the adults won't protect them, they should protect each other. That being said. Shame on the adults that aren't protecting the children. May God judge you, giving you every "opportunity" you gave the children.
Bravo to these young men and the young woman for having courage and confidence to stand up and expose this sick coward. We need to protect our own and stop relying on “the system” to save us. Cellphones and cameras are the new weapon in today’s war. And anyone who thinks this is “a dangerous trend” needs to stop being a coward and realize that this world is dangerous and we can’t remain blind to it.
