Something bugged me about this episode: dr phil and the daughter kept saying there's no Piggly Wiggly grocery store in Texas. Truth is, there are two locations in Texas, one in city of Paris Texas and the other in Athens Texas. Not in Austin, buy they're still in TEXAS. Can someone reply and clear this up for me? Why did dr phil say that?
Well I think he was joking, he obviously didn’t expect her to marry him. Also I think it’s a bit harsh to call him pathetic, I mean I know he wasn’t very smart when it came to being scammed but he’s obviously a lonely man who just was hoping to find love. We all want that.

I agree with the other commenters that the guy probably just made a joke because he was super embarrassed...BUT he should have been falling all over himself to apologize to his daughter, upset at what he’s put her through, but instead he was only thinking about HIS current feelings....I agree with you, that guy is the worst, he’s so sucky I cringed on his behalf 😬
Everybody's in the comments acting like it's no big deal that 2 complete strangers care more about his daughter than he does. Ugh. That part really got me too - not the uncomfortable joke but the "oh yeah yeah" - he clearly could care less about her and how she feels although from what she's said he proved that a long time ago. I really hope she realizes that she doesn't need him to be a part of her life in order for her to be happy because it really looks like he wants no part of it. Poor girl.
Of course he doesn't care about his daughter. He left a month before her critically ill mother died and didn't even care enough to show for the funeral. Then didn't see his daughter in person in 6 years before the show!!

They think that because they see people like Hugh Hefner and Donald Trump with young beautiful women. As abnormal as that is, when they see even one example that supports their narrative, it reinforces their desire and it then seems more attainable.
@@CatherineHamel look at the multiple dr phil episodes of women doing the same thing. Theres no examples of that, and yet they fall for it. Its something more than seeing some celebrity on TV do it
I hardly ever feel sorry for these people tho, most often it's old people wanting a hot young guy or girl AND often they are "Inlove" with more than one, so if they were real they would be cheating on em too. I've only felt sorry for maybe 2 of the people who got scammed that were on dr phil who seemed genuinely like nice people looking for a real relationship with someone not half their age

Actually, I think I’m being too harsh on him. I stand by everything I said apart from that he doesn’t care for his daughter. He’s extremely embarrassed and ashamed, not unloving. He knows that he has hurt the person in this world who probably loves him the most. He knows that he has so much much making up to do and yet she may never truly trust him again since he so easily spoilt their relationship for “Maria”
I was with him up until then. Though he’s likely right, it’s disappointing to know that he perpetuated that stereotype. I know many Nigerians and not on of them engages in that behaviour. The people I know are studying to earn a PhD or something close to that.
@@CatherineHamel Nigerians in the states for the most part are very bright. I know many who are very well educated. But I think conditions back home are not great due to poverty and corruption.

He reminds me of the creepy old guys who come into my work and hit on all the women who work there. I've literally told these dudes I'm married and they'll say "are you sure he's right for you?" Like yeah, I'm gonna leave my wonderful husband for some random old guy at the grocery store 😂
