A Secret Santa is back and this Christmas is bigger than ever!
The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy helping a local man gift more than $500,000 this holiday season. A lot more. Secret Santa is a real person who wants to remain anonymous and hopes to help as many individuals in our community as he can.
Secret Santa learned about Alyn from an employee of a local company that hired Alyn for some temp work. Alyn had an excellent work ethic, worked hard to be proficient and always left his work area immaculate. The work we needed was off and on, and whenever the company called the temp agency, they always requested Alyn.
He began working for the company two years ago and was in a pretty dire situation. He struggled to make ends meet and his living situation turned for the worst. He ended up living in his truck and never told anyone. He never complained and was always on time for work. Since then, he has reunited with family and now has a stable place to call home.
Recently, Alyn was hired full time. His colleagues say he is the first one to arrive at work, works long hours, cancels vacations to work and makes sure to meet all his deadlines.
Before Alyn was hired full-time, he made the difficult decision to have all of his teeth pulled. He could not afford to get them cleaned or repaired when there was a problem and the infection became severe. He needs new dentures but has not been able to afford them.
Secret Santa asked the East Idaho News elves to grant Alyn's Christmas wish and we surprised him at work. Watch the video above to see what happened!
