also in this game: - a bat broke mid swing without even hitting the ball - a member of the grounds crew ran onto the field before the inning ended and then couldnt get out - a ball hit the top of the rf wall and spun back onto the field multiple times the brewers announcers said something like, "I dont think Ive ever seen that before" so suffice to say it was an interesting game

Being able to challenge pitch calls by the ump can't come soon enough.

I saw this live and I was so confused why they were yelling at the umps for the reviews going their way and I said to my husband that I’ll make sense of it when the Jomboy video drops. 😂

The cardinals won this game 4-3 and the Umpire scorecard had the umpire giving the Brewers 1.51 runs net. Crazy bad leverage, even though his actual accuracy wasn't bad, the one's he got wrong were so impactful.

The Brewers game last night was atrocious from the ump standpoint. I even heard a fan yell "You're worse than Angel!" I couldn't stop laughing!

Getting all up in another man's grill, screaming and cussing at him and then saying it wasn't personal is hilarious

I remember a professional pitcher (Roger Clemens) once telling a story about how he ran into an umpire in the off season at a restaurant. They got to talking and that umpire came right out and said to the pitcher "You'll throw more strikes if you were wearing a different uniform." Implying, of course, that they were calling him _wrong_ because they wanted another team, _any_ other team, to win. He switched from the Red Sox to the Yankees and his "pitching" improved. So, yeah. I don't trust the umpires in the MLB to not play favorites/take bribes/fix games.

Jomboy seems like the type of guy to go out to a restaurant with his wife and reads the lips of the tables around them exposing their weirdest table talk. Well done.

Went to an Indianapolis Indianas game a couple weeks ago and the challenge of the pitch call is one of the best things that’s ever happened to baseball. They showed the pitch track and location on the big board to overturn two calls in two separate innings. Fantastic change for baseball. This needs to be brought up to the Big Leagues ASAP.

First pitch was probably a ball. The 2nd pitch was on Herrera. While it is a strike, Herrera started standing early instead of framing the pitch. That’s why the ump called it a ball. The 2 first base calls were both close, but wrong, and replay worked like it should. Marmol was just upset because how poorly the Cards are playing. So far it has worked, as they are playing better. At least for 2 games. Lol

Oliver Marmol's most redeeming quality is that he knows how to do an old-school managerial tirade. Legendary stuff

As someone who was at this game in the front row of 342, this clears a lot of things up. I was taking a drink and my SO pulled my sleeve and pointed because Marmol was going nuts, seemingly (from our viewpoint) for no reason. From our perspective we had no idea what his beef was to get that mad that fast. Although I did say at the time, it must be the umpires. I can think of 3 pitches for sure were wrong from where I was sitting, plus the two botched calls.

Marmol is being a tool. They won the challenge and it doesn't help to blame umpires to fire up team. What helps is taking accountability and to keep battling even when things aren't going your way
