❗❗ *Caution:* This video was made using an older version of Unity ECS. While the core concepts remain the same, some of the API and workflows have changed as of ECS version 1.0. I would recommend checking out my ECS 1.0 tutorial video for a good overview of the latest standards for Unity’s DOTS: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IO6_6Y_YUdE.html Once again, the theory behind the concepts of this video are still relevant, however the API has changed. Better to have options for different use-cases than them forcing you to do things one way and one way only - especially for an engine like Unity where you can make all different kinds of games for different platforms. But I get your point.. they certainly could do a better job of helping you use the right thing for the right project you're working on.

This was huge for me. I recently started my ECS/DOTS journey beginning with a Udemy course. Unfortunately the class isnt explaining some fundamental building block concepts of ECS and this answered one of my biggest questions! Thank you so much! I need that core knowledge to feel confident enough to utilize ECS

I am really grateful for the tutorials you have made about unity ecs. This one came in at just the right time as this is the issue I am dealing with atm. However, I would like to say that the topics you have covered are way too basic. There are no tips about ordering common systems like spawning, movement or collisions. There is no information about where unity does essential stuff like updates transforms and that if you spawn entities after that they will all be at same pos at the first frame. I would be glad if you told more about your experience and pitfalls you encountered.
