The wisest thing that should be on everyone mind currently should be to invest in different streams of income that doesn't depend on the govt. Especially with the current economic crisis around the word. This is still a good time to invest in Gold, silver and digital currencies(BTC, ETH, XRP..).

I don't know...I got kind of a 'bottom of the barrel' vibe. He even said "it might not be high TPS"... As if there's simply nothing better or more valuable to discuss and he was just doing his best to hide that.

He said a few min after that he didn’t want to make forward looking statements so I think that’s why he held back. Don’t want to over promise and under deliver.

There are good business opportunities around that. Physical clearing houses, DLT enabled title and so on.

I’m a big fan of SaucerSwap and their native token. I think its a pretty safe bet if you are into Hedera DeFi.

While I agree that rising price of a coin and market cap is a great way to garner attention differentiate between price and value I use the definition of the noun ‘value’ - the regard that something is held to deserve; the importance, worth, or usefulness of something. Compared to the ‘price’ the sum or amount of money or its equivalent for which anything is bought, sold, or offered for sale. The value and price of things are out of whack all the time. The price of a share of Amazon Stock in 2003, split adjusted was under $1, but it’s value was much higher. The price of a Miamo condo in 2007 might have been $500k, but the value was probably less than half that. The price of EOS made it a top 5 token a few years ago, but the value was much lower. HEX was also a top 5 coin, and I got in arguments with people when both it and HBAR were 15 cents that HBAR had the better value. It is true HBAR has dropped to 4.8 cents since, but HEX has fallen to $0.003. At this point I think the price of HEX might reflect it’s value, whereas HBAR’s price is well below its true value. What is the value? It is the usefulness for businesses like Hyundai, Atma.io, TOKO, Allcot, Calaxy, FSCO/MasterCard, Dropp, ServiceNow, Neuron, and the list goes on. I understand the fixation on price, but Bitcoin cash has a higher market cap, so does Ethereum Classic and Litecoin. What will happen in the years to come is the short term voting machine that is the cryptomarket will become a scale measuring true value. And just like HBAR price/market cap has moved past HEX, EOS, ALGO and VET as the value is weighed, it will then move past ETC, BCH, and LTC. Eventually I think it moves past the likes of SOL XRP and ADA to become a Top 5 token. But that will take patience most don’t possess.

Just the nature of the fee structure and how certain use cases leverage the network. As the network progresses adjustments will be made to incentivize the use of Network services while also increasing revenue.

I guess youtube doesn’t publish them. 🤷‍♂️

2.5% is not the same as $0. Also, hbar did over a 50x last bull run. You call a 50x a bad investment?

@@bigp6071 yes, staking will be between 0%-2.5% MAXIMUM. 2.5% is a hell of a lot less than 6.5% and that's only payable when the network gets to a certain level. Between Inflation, token inflation, other cryptos, and even standard investments products all pay more HBAR doesn't look like a good investment. So now your tying up your money with virtually no % return and maybe even a loss (against inflation)and ONLY speculating for token price appreciation only. You're also ASSUMING a 50x, where are you getting that number from? That's random and I don't invest in random numbers. Even if it hits 50x, how long will it take to get there? It may never, you don't know. Thes a big difference between investing, trading, and gambling, HBAR is now more of a trade or gamble than investable.

@@HederaForum I agree and I see your point but if Hedera's a 100- year company, 6.5% is about a 100- year average for stocks, bonds, real estate etc. To the honest that's why I thought they were choosing 6.5%, it's about a 100- year avg return so I didn't expect them to change it so drastically, especially so soon. It caught me off guard. And within the Crypto space 6.5% isn't unreasonable, here's some others for decent projects (pulled from Atomic Wallet, that I use) ATOM: 22%, ADA 5%, ETH 5%, CRO 10%, MATIC 4.2%, FLR 4.2%, FET 11%, NEAR 11%, ZIL 15%, BAND 11%, TEZOS 5.8%. IMO, at the very least Hedera should kept the door open to a higher % but choosing 2.5% MAXIMUM seems to go excessively in the wrong direction. If they want long term investors and holders of HBAR to reward to help secure the network a lower staking price decreases investing and promotes more speculation. This is just more proof HBAR was made for Enterprise, retail completely ignored.

@@HederaForum I disagree money market yields 5 and a half % and short term T m bill are around that to plenty of thing are offering yield at thay level so to is ETH and to be an ETH killer at least matching it. This is more in line with tipping over a dollar to pick up a dim is short sighted on the councils behalf. The original yelid with all of the 50 billion staked ment a yield of 2% with the 1 billion cap per year thay would of at least kept up with inflation. Not even being ahead in real terms will not have the positive out look we want on adoption. If people get 4% spread on ETH people will not care the tech is better. This will ultimately harm the ecosystem, where this could of been a better use of treasury ofbwe except mass adoption that can cover the cost to run the network but until that time this will only have detrimental effects

Don’t forget that the moves in crypto are almost entirely about principle appreciation or depreciation aka the price of the coin going up or down. The yield is just a bonus, but if you are overly fixated on that you might miss the major gains.

My goal is only to highlight the current and potential future value of the network. It’s true that the tokens in the ecosystem are the best way to participate and their price can be out of whack with the current and future value (my opinion/not financial advice) but it takes so much to make one rich.

You may be tremendously successful but I do wonder some times with comments like this if the four of us, Mance, Leemon, myself and you put our life chips on the table, how things would stack up.

it’s all relative. We went through a bear market. It’s true, #HBAR is down 20% in the past year. But #MATIC is down 38%, #AVAX is down 45%, #SOL is down 27%, and #ALGO is down 69%. Despite HBAR’s outperformance, I don’t get to wrapped up in price action as we round the bottom, I pay more attention to the foundation being built for the bull market and Hedera is creating one heck of a narrative. I understand though, it’s easy to get fixated on the day to day movements.

A little over a year ago ALGO traded at a 40% premium to HBAR, now HBAR trades at a 150% to ALGO. About 18 months ago I argued with someone about Hedera’s tokenomics vs HEX. At the time they were the same price. Now HBAR is 10x HEX. It’s all relative.
