I feel terrible for the man who warned security. He knew something was not right. Imagine how he feels every day knowing he stepped up while security stepped down .. awful. I hope hes okay. 😢
Indeed. Same thing happened with 2020 - 2021. People like myself tried to send out warnings but they fell on deaf ears. We weren't believed. Now...people are suffering.
He was also far too young to be in that position (only 18) with neither the confidence, training, or experience to act appropriately on his (and the publics) suspicion with no assistance.
No idiot, quit taking this poor victims words and twisting his mouth of emotion as if he hasn’t already suffered enough. He clearly said “at the end of the day the real person to blame was the bomber, not his resistance to acting on your promoted racial stereotyping” which could’ve gotten even MORE people hurt had he felt pressured then.
Let’s not forget white supremacists from Europe colonized so many unaware humans that’s a country celebrates it’s freedom from the British empire every seven days before we call entire races of people terrorists
It wouldn’t of made a difference if the guy was stopped or not during that night he still would of blown himself up, the missed opportunities were made days/weeks/months before this event occurred by our own security forces, placing the blame on teenage security guards new to the job is disgraceful.
The whole "don't judge someone by the way they look" sentiment is dangerous. Judging individuals by the way they look is important for police to get an idea of who they are dealing with.
Painful to hear for some but just plain true. If a black person walks down the street with a suit and a briefcase they don't get stopped but then if they dress like a drug dealer, they get stopped. Duh.
obviously there were more throughout the total area of the event... they were just covering the 4 that were responsible for that specific area in this video. c'mon now, use your head lol
@@zabronzkee731 still doesn’t explain why there were only four security guards when that was the main place people would be entering and exiting. There should have been at least 8 there.
@Covid-19 has never been isolated nor examined If true, this also would have been avoided if we didn't bomb Guddafi. Libya was a rich country before we destroyed it. Libya is now full of terrorists and is a completely failed state.
It's very easy to look at things in hindsight, but that security guard trying to radio in and not getting through to anyone is the crux for me. It's incredibly difficult to make a decision like that alone without consultation with a situation that is so ambiguous.
We're doing a course about that. He was never trained on the radio and the frequency wasn't set. The guy who did get through had really bad English so the control room ended up ignoring him.
Sitting on the platform for 16 minutes and then sitting in the foyer for almost an hour? That was enough to go up and ask him what he is doing there. Hanging around in corners ... come on! Plus he was reported!!!! Are u kidding me? Disgraceful.
nowadays if someone questions a coloured person and they’re wrong and they were just waiting or something g then the person who questioned them would be branded a racist, complaints would be made and they’d lose their job. that’s what it’s come to. only white people can be questioned if they are acting suspicious and we just have to hope the people of colour acting strange aren’t doing anything wrong
Unfortunately If the guards stopped him and found out it was an innocent person they would’ve been branded racist lost their jobs and never be hired again
"He was scared of being branded a racist." Seems like that was the problem. That and those two officers who went to lunch together insted of one staying and the other going to eat.
Exactly. Political correctness may not have caused this act of murder by itself, but it has exacerbated the problems associated with counter-terrorism on the larger scale.
Frankly a poor excuse, it's got nothing to do with 'political correctness gone mad!'. He was not doing his job correctly, the guy''s wearing an enormous rucksack in a concert and has been reported multiple times? There should be a no large bag rule in such venues...
@@sheppycider123 or it was better excuse than 'we dont care about these girls since they're working class and choose to hangout with drug dealers and predators'
@@evulclown he was not in the concert venue. The area in question is part if the railway station , open to the public at all times. At any time lots of people are walking round in there carrying luggage, suitcases, backpacks etc. At no time did the bomber enter a secure area
I am so thankful that my sister was moved seat, if she was at the back row like she was meant to she may have not still been here today, but she was moved to the front and managed to escape easily. So sorry for anyone who lost a relative that day, my heart dropped before I realised she was still alive.
It's the fact that a member of the public went and said something when he should have been spotted by security. I was at the arena 5 days before the attack. It scares me to think it so easily could have happened on the night I was there. I feel so sorry for those who lost loved ones that night. I have returned to the arena since that night, and security is so so tight now. It's like an airport now.
This was hard to watch, they could have stopped him so many times and when the father tells the guard that he is worried and is told that "he is just waiting for a freind" was terrfying knowing how this could have just been stoped.
@@hexdev .... it's termed as ' non standard ' English , but is recognised in some dictionaries. Brung, brang, broughten..... He could be from the U.S. ....
he would have just got spooked and detonated the bomb right there and then. He could have been stopped, but the evidence is mounting the police are actively involved in standing down and letting these events happen. 7/7, Lee Rigby, the London Attacks, Manchester...ALL were under surveillance and NOTHING was done to even remotely intercept them. There's blatent collusion going on.
Terror unit couldn’t stop the London knife attacks even they knew he was a threat to public but yet they want community support officers to solve these attacks.
One thing i will say is as a Muslim i believe that some of these "missed opportunities" weren't actually missed at all. Sometimes security and police are scared to take action on certain individuals because if they do they might be accused of being a racist etc, like they do when they enforce the stop and search, this is one of the dangers that have been created by these people who always use the race card and discrimination claims. We never actually talk about this in the UK and i think it should be spoken of more often personally.

If a young brown man with a big rucksack near a railway station was stopped because of their suspicion, it’s a lawsuit and that officer is getting his address posted on Twitter
Ur meant to stop suspicious people someone with a bag that size not being stopped in incompetence.. stop trying to drive an agenda.. there were more brown people seen that day not wearing a bag.. by ur logic they should have been checked as well?
I'm shocked that there was such a small police presence to begin with. Surely it could have been foreseen that this wouldn't be enough in an event such as this.
There were security personnel, plenty of them. There weren’t any police at the scene, only BTP who were patrolling the station as they are supposed to.
What intrigues me the most is what goes through their head as their wondering around before they do what they gonna do. I want to know what runs through their mind in those last moments,
Who knows maybe they had a doubtful mind? Asking themselves “am i really going to heaven? Is this the right thing to do? Im so scared because im about to kill myself and others with a bomb.” Maybe?
I remember seeing a memorial for this when visiting the football museum in Manchester and feeling sick that this happened, thankfully we live in a safer environment, R.I.P to victims involved.
The man knew that that exact spot was a blind spot to the CCTV. He sat there on purpose. I would hate to know what he did while he was sitting there, but at the same time, I am quite curious.
@@scarcieiani5763 can’t exactly say that a bomber was struggling mentally he know what he was doing straight away. I’m a Mancunian so once I found out about this I was sick to my stomach. I always hope that something like this doesn’t happen again.

He was afraid of being called a racist....that's a serious issue in this world today! People are afraid to speak up, or take action, because they don't want to have their lives destroyed by a mob.
Even if the police were there they wouldn't have been able to do anything, as soon as they would have challenged him he would have detonated the bomb, if it was armed police and they had guns drawn and told him no sudden movements and the he went for his phone then they could have stopped it.
When employees are UNDERMINED by their managers this crap happens. The same for police... we need to back people up so they can feel confident to do their jobs knowing someone has their back.
My point is regardless of whether the police confronted him or not he would have just set the bomb off when the police spoke to him once he was next to the arena there is no stopping it.
If they knew he was going to detonate a bomb, they could have shot him dead or something before he detonated the bomb. Even if he detonated the bomb, it would have killed and injured much less people than if he had done it when he planned.
My Uncle worked security here and was meant to work this door on this night. He ended up going on leave for surgery and dodged this. My family knew a couple of those killed, however.
We all know what the common denominator is with terrorist attacks and the government have a duty of care for it's citizens, but they would rather blame poorly paid security at the Arena.
Its nearly exactly five years ago since the bomb exploded (im writing this at 22:24) I remember hearing the sirens. My parents thought it was another prison riot until they found out what happened. Its so sad that the youngest victim was only 8 years old. ☹️
I still don’t understand why no one from security checked his bag or if he had anything on him, I thought they did that everywhere in the world, not just in the US.
People are saying there were so many opportunities to stop this. Indeed, there was. But if the police stopped and searched EVERYONE they find suspicious, just imagine the backlash from the racial profiling. Anytime the cops step up their stop and search privileges, there's always backlash.
Still after this long . I still think about this day .my cousin was their thank god she was okay . My condolences to the families still after this long . The world is full of evil appreciate the good people in your life and stay safe out here . Love ❤
When I was working for that security company showsec, I did mention to my supervisor about The vulnerabilities of the Arena4 months back when it starts but all I got was, When the concert starts there will be lots of security around
No one with a bag should be allowed in without a search, security failed on that one and his bag was huge. I remember standing in line for hours in the rain before a huge concert waiting to be searched before being let in. I don't mind it if it means that we're all safe.
It's simple, each person who enters the concert has a bracelet of a different color, the bracelet of a certain color comes out first, then the other color and the other color to prevent people from crowding. Then metal detector for each person who wants to enter to wait for someone and guards monitoring inside and outside the place. All of this could have been avoided in so many possible ways that it is terrifying.
That bag was so out of place. Watching him on cctv just now made me uncomfortable. That man tried to help but security let everyone down. In a blind spot with a bag carrying god knows what. Ridiculous. Hea just hanging out. Horrible soul. RIP to all the beautiful people whose lives were Stolen and their families that night.
I understand that this is a horrific situation and I am not defending any serious mistakes. It is a hard task to spot these things, in hindsight we can all see the failings/signs, and it is difficult to see the difference between a phone wire and a bomb wire. I just hope that they learn from this, and if we need security around stadiums to be like those around festivals or other big events where all persons and bags get searched then I for one am all for that
In my opinion even if the security confront the man I think he is still going to set the bomb off when if they ask to check his backpack. Once he was next to the arena I think it was too late.
@@nathandaniels9681 Absolutely, it’s a very difficult task to stop people like that. We have measures to stop people making/storing the bombs but unfortunately it isn’t an easy task. It’s the same with a murderer or knife/gun man, the only way to stop them is to be sure about it and use force. But if your not sure then most would be hesitant to ‘pull the trigger’
I’ve watched ACSIS control/ bag check security before at stadiums and we have a supe with us making sure we check every bag- usually it’s just to make sure the stadium gets it’s alcohol profit because people try to slip in liquor in a bag like idiots. I’ve also worked for my country’s airline where I’ve been paid to “smuggle” fake bombs through airport security, and every time they spotted the issue as I continued walking on and they were approached by their supervisor who put me in the line. This. Is. Avoidable. What needs to be done is stadiums need to actually staff correctly so they can have five or six guards just for bags and two or four for pat downs, and they need electronic scanning equipment.
The guy that warned security about this man was called a racist … the people who called this man a racist instead of stopping this man from murdering over 50 people should be ashamed of themselves and they should know that they are part of the reason these people are dead.

@Chip Flaked Yep because when was the last time the media reported an inspiring immigrant story? Or an immigrant doing something to help the lives of people around them?
There's always someone on the inside for something like this to happen so smoothly, including not getting through to the control room or the two security personnel taking more than 2 hours to return.

Although it would definetly reduce the injuries it is not there job, the man shouldnt have been allowed in the countries and he should have been stopped well before he walked into an arena full of people with the only suspicion being a large backpack
The fact was that they went missing for TWO hours and the British Transport Police has actually now apologised for it but this just shows what a joke this country is when it comes to security as I rarely see a police car when I once used to see many police officers walking the streets, I wonder whether the security would have been better in London
