Indeed, somewhat of a mix between imperial Japan and imperial Germany. May be a by-product of Manchukuo in effect presenting itself as a monarchic continuation of the Beiyang Government of the Republic of China, which was overthrown in 1928. The Beiyang government had a good deal of military connections to Germany

Puyi really didn’t have much choice once he first drank the poisoned chalice that was working with the Japanese. The Japanese alone established Manchukuo, and when Puyi was emperor, they in practice made him a prisoner, locking him inside his palace under 24/7 watch and surveillance

Manchuria was under control of Japan, if Puyi didn't side with Japan Manchukuo would either be direct part of Japan or someone else would be selected as its leader.

Japan create Kwantung to protect Manchuria and made the song about Kwantung and Manchuria. This was when Manchuria join Japan. -The japanese and Russia are deal with Manchurian Plagues which was started in 1910-1911. In 1930, plague is come back and Manchuria asking Japan to help them to prevent the plague and japanese accept it during the war. However, Japan invade Manchuria was Allie's propaganda.

Personally I find this one nicer, it has a more majestic feeling to it, though the 1933-1942 anthem is definitely more unique style wise
