In manga, Red has caught his first pokemon as poliwag and later caught bulbasaur and pikachu, while games red which is origins has team of Charizard, dodrio, persian, lapras, etc. And i know that anime logic will not work but in manga you have purely fair fight without game logics and anime plot armour.

Red only has access to mega evolution in charizard, which by itself cannot defeat the other three gimmicks ash has. By anime standards ash was an elite 4 level trainer after the very first generation of Pokémon, he wiped out most of the johto regoin because he and charizard were far too strong. Mind you ash has gone through 8 generations of Pokémon, and has trained with all of them, making his team far more versatile and stronger than reds average Pokemon he only brings out for one occasion. Ash could go toe to toe with elite 4 members and has defeated multiple of them, and has defeated 6 legendarys up to this point. He’s also far stronger than lance, the dude who red struggled to beat in there initial match, and still had to use most of his Pokémon to beat on there rematch. Ash in the very first generation had to fight a far stronger mewtwo than red did. red only won because he used mega evolution, as he got absolutely slammed up to that point. Ash not only has megas now, in both lucario and grenija, but can technically use both of them because grenijas doesn’t require a stone. If we’re talking about all versions of red then we gotta talk about all versions of ash. A ash from the first generation with only a few months with pikachu was matching the power of Marshadow, and hooh. Bst of 680, while mewtwo has bst of 600 meaning in game and in cannon, ash has fought stronger legendarys than mewtwo

Meanwhile Pikachu beat up Regigigice who is said to create multiple ice continents and destroy them, Beat Tapu KoKo ,when he isn’t even at his fp and is exhausted , even though tapu koko clapped up naganeedle who was able to fend off base nekrozma for a while making him at least Universal (High ball), Pikachu then beat Leon’s Charizard who low diffed Alain’s charizard without dynamax. Alain’s Charizard also was capable of extreme diffing Previous Ash greninja who is Galaxy level. Pikachu should on that High universal tier ultimately meaning Reds Charizard Claps high diff at best

Not to mention that red is equal to if not better than ash when it comes to creativity which is the foundation of ash’s style. Red also has extremely powerful pokemon that are all in the 80-90 level range(the manga does use levels, but more like the early anime which in a sense means very loosely as more of a power gauge). I think that red could win with just one or two of his pokemon in a fight with ash

@@Mori_jin_god_of_high_school red beat mewtwo, Giovanni, Bruno, blue, all of his pokemon are at least level 80 and 90, and together with blue and green(but red did most of the work) they defeated all of the legendary birds at the same time. We also see red actively training his pokemon and given how ash only does trainer battles, his pokemon other than lucario are probably only like 5-10 levels higher than he caught them. So like 50s-60s and pikachu in the 70s or maybe 80s, pikachu is the only pokemon that had some sort of chance, but red’s team is diverse enough to counter that. Also in that Leon fight if I were the ref I would have said Leon won because pikachu didn’t just fall, he got knocked out for longer than 10 seconds

Manga red has legends. Yeah, ash with nebby neggs but I can't really use that. If we use standard mons my boi red has his pikachu, mega venusaur, polywrath snorlax and I forgor the others.
