Staying close to their mother's side, these grizzly cubs-of-the-year get their first introduction to people and the world along Pilgrim Creek Road. Bear 399, perhaps the most well known grizzly in North America, is known for using habitat near highways and roadways within Grand Teton National Park. Avoiding large males who roam the backcountry, 399 has learned to take advantage of the abundant and unused bear foods near the roadsides. This behavior of 399 has proven successful in the past-now raising her third set of triplets in this somewhat risky, human-influenced habitat. Hundreds of thousands of visitors and locals are cheering for this most remarkable family of grizzly bears.
