Lionel makes a mistake in blaming social media- Social Media is the HOW these bad ideas spread- NOT the WHY they spread. The WHY, is far left activists trying to foment their revolution. Social media is just one outlet for HOW they do it.
Social Media have been abused by left and right altogether. It seems to bring the worst out of people from different kinds of groups. It's not merely a vessel for left activists, but a vessel for merely activists, period. The structure of social media creates a certain form of idea spreading that is new to forms in the past, since (mostly anonymous) users can provoke, and call for action, and inspire lots of people with it. That is a danger. How and Why is interconnected here, that is what it makes it so dodgy, and why Lionel is talking about it, in my (humble) opinion.
