More is about her miscarriages. She had 1 a few years ago, and she had 2 when she was with G eazy, that’s why she says “they told me once nothing grows, when a house ain’t a home”, I think she means because their relationship was very toxic. And because of the endometriosis it has been very difficult for her to carry a pregnancy. But she has hope because there is a treatment she can have to have a baby 😭 she wants to be a mother more than anything.

I heard “more” at first and didn’t realize what it was about but once I found out and read the lyrics I tear up every time I hear it

In clementine the two voices are meant to represent her two different faces. The normal voice singing is Halsey and then the voice screaming in the background is Ashley.

This album speaks so many volumes. I’ve been a Halsey fan sense Room 93 and have watched her grow so much. This album is really personal for her and I believe many people can find different meanings within these songs. It is so beautiful

If anyone doesn’t know, the conversation at the beginning of (killing boys) is characters Jennifer Check and Needy talking in the film Jennifer’s Body

If you haven’t gotten into her older music, it’s actually something you cannot miss. All of her work, in its own way, is a masterpiece. Badlands and HFK... are the best things to have ever happened to me 😂

In target version, she has a song called "I'm not mad" and she has a voice memo of you should be sad. A guitar and her voice only no beats.

I am very late commenting but I love Forever... (is a long time). It's probably one of my favorite's off the album. Halsey has described it as her struggle with relationships and how she tends to self-sabotage them and that is represented both in the lyrics as well as that shift from major key to minor key. It's such as beautiful concept and production and when you tie it together with Dominic's Interlude and I HATE EVERYBODY, it creates the most vulnerable story.

more is about the fact that she has endometriosis and has had three miscarriages but wants nothing more than to be a mom and how she's just waiting for the baby to arrive even through all the odds! she said it's a love song but not in a romantic way, but for a person who hasn't entered the world yet.

Beautiful stranger and two ghosts really do sound similar. They have the same chords. “It’s finally safe for me to fall” “Trying to remember how it feels to have a heartbeat” These two lines sound so similar following their beat drops.

i don't know if you've listened to the deluxe version (which is also just called Manic which can be confusing) but like wipe your tears and i'm not mad are just masterpieces and i loved listening to all the stripped versions (especially 3am the raw feeling is incredible)

Since I haven't seen anyone comment this (except for like one person), but Alanis' Interlude is about Halsey being bisexual. (a little break down of the song for you) In verse one when it says "A shining badge" is Halsey referencing her bisexuality showing that she wears it proudly as if it was a badge. In the chorus when it's Halsey and Alanis singing "Cause your pussy is a wonderland" is a spin on John Mayer's song 'Your body is a wonderland', she altered the iconic 'straight' love song as an ode to her bisexuality. In the post chorus Alanis is singing "Cause he is she is her, and her and he are love, and I have never felt the difference, cause he is she is her, and her and he are love, Tirin' all these labels" Halsey has never known the difference between men and women, she's attracted to both. "Tirin' all these labels" is implying that she doesn't feel the need to put a label herself or her sexuality. In verse two Halsey sings "And my girl, she always wore a skirt in the classroom, eatin' my dessert in the bathroom" is as story about how, when she was sixteen she found out she was bisexual, and at cape her and another counselor would make out in the bathrooms. Not many people appreciate this song enough, and its a really good song.
