Another great recommendation from you guys!! What should I react to next? Also here's the link to 7% off your first year with DistroKid here: distrokid.com/vip/luscent 😘

'More' is actually her singing to her unborn child. She had a miscarriage and then was diagnosed with Endometriosis which means that the chances of her ever having a baby are really really low. So that's where the song came from.

@@kirashaffer6469 she is actually about pop I think! When she announced the pregnancy it was already after the period for it to be determined viable [they determined she will have little complications]

When Halsey sang “929” live she changed a couple lyrics and said “Ashley you gotta promise us that you won’t die, cause we need you and honestly I think that *shes right*” instead of “ *she lied* “ Also she said “i wasnt in love then *but I might be now instead of “i wasnt in love then *and I’m still not now* “ 🤍🤍🤍

You should try reacting to hopeless fountain kingdom, its a very well-made album by Halsey, in my own opinion

I really hope you do more of Halsey, she's one of my favorite artists! Badlands is full of bangers but Hopeless Fountain Kingdom is my personal favorite. I'd love to see your interpretations and reactions to it. My favorite thing about this album (Manic) is it pretty much cleanly loops if you want to do that, and it's very lulling to me. Oh also check out 11 Minutes which is the one she does with Yungblud (who Finally//Beautiful Stranger is about), as well as their cover of I Will Follow You Into The Dark! Their voices blend so well together

so the spoken word part at the end of Ashley (which is Halsey's name) is Kate Winslet in the movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, where she plays a character named Clementine. Hence why the second song is called clementine.

Some fun fact: -halsey is the anagram of her real name Ashley -in « Ashley » the person talkin at the end is from the movie « eternal sunshine of a spotless mind » which is her favorite movie -at the end of « 3am » it’s John Mayer who’s talking of without me -in 3am the drummer is Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers -in « more » she talked about her miscarriages because of endometriosis but now she’s pregnant :) I hope you can react to more Halsey and also to yungblud 🖤 Have a nice day

I'd definitely recommend looking up a lyric translation of Suga's Interlude. Suga (combination of the 2 first syllables of "shooting guard," Min Yoongi's favorite position in basketball) is the lead rapper of BTS and one of the main producers and songwriters. BTS are well known for their incredibly deep, colorful lyrics, usually dealing with mental health. He references quite a few of his past songs in his verse from Suga's Interlude. There are 3 rappers in BTS. Suga is the lead rapper which is one level below the title of main rapper, which belongs to the leader RM (real name Kim Namjoon), who is their main lyricist and produces many of their songs as well. The third rapper is Jhope (real name Jung Hoseok) who is also one of the main dancers. Hip hop is the root of their sound, but they delve into almost every genre, especially pop, rock, edm, electronica, and rnb. Just wanted to give some info since no one else did. Not reading a lyric translation is really missing out. Their lyrics are poetry and Yoongi is very raw with his emotions when he writes.

Suga and Halsey wrote the interlude together and I know Suga and BTS producer Pdogg did the production of the song with a producer named Lido. That might be why it feels so different. Want you more makes me cry all the time ever since I read about Halseys miscarriage.

More is about her unborn baby being her greatest love which always make me cry! The ending is supposed to sound like her singing the song and how the fetus hears it in her belly:’) btw 929 was free styled!

The one who is speaking in the voice mail is her friend john mayer I don't think the addition of this voice mail in the end of 3am is to make the song dark but it's more like a flex because after the end of the voice mail the song without me started which is her most popular song and it was on top in charts

huge halsey fan here and i think this might be my favorite album of theirs. first things first i loved your video/reaction. I’m about to go on a huge conspiracy theory rant so you can stop reading now or if you’re bored you can go on haha. when they released the album they had intro'd it with this preface: "There’s an ancient saying that you have three faces. The first one you broadcast to the world, the second you show to those closest to you, and the last one you never show to anyone..." and how this album is giving you a glimpse at this third face. however after listening to this album a hundred times, I actually think that this album is broken down by those three faces, split by the interludes. So ‘Ashley’ was the handshake, Halsey introducing themself to you. the next three songs (which were their singles) is that first face they show the world as a performer. Then ‘forever is a long time/dominic’s interlude’ is the transition to the next face. the songs from ‘I Hate Everybody’ to ‘killing boys’ are their second face, songs that paint them as a little more insecure and unpolished. songs that, at least to me, almost feel like voicemail rants they left for their friends/partners/exes that they decided to turn into songs. also at the end of ‘3am’ they put a voicemail from John Meyer on there, and John Meyer is referencing ‘Without Me’ which is why that song is next on the tracklist. and as a side note - the opening to ‘killing boys’ is a deleted scene from Jennifer’s Body and if you ever want to watch a really fun horror movie about a literal maneater I highly suggest this movie. and then with ‘suga’s interlude’ until ‘929’ it feels like the most personal Halsey we’ve ever gotten. ‘More’ is about their reproductive problems/miscarriages, and the distortion at the end of the song was supposed to make it sound like an ultrasound. and ‘929’ is like the ultimate self-reflective song. I like to interpret the “I’m a liar, I’m a fucking liar” as Halsey realizing that they’ve also been lying to themselves and are now trying to move forward from this idea of themselves that they’ve built up and projected to the world (which is referenced in ‘Ashley’). sorry for the long ass message but I’ve been wanting to rant about my Manic album theories for some time haha. anyways love you keep up the great work LOL *insert that Always Sunny conspiracy board meme*

@@Luscent Thanks for responding, have really been enjoying your reactions and plan to check out your music when I get a chance. On second thought it might be better to start with her debut album, All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend. For some reason only the deluxe version shows up on her spotify page, you have to search the album name to find the base version.

Not sure if you’ll see this, but your reaction to the album actually gave me tears re listening to these beautiful songs. Subscribed instantly lol❤️ I hope you will do more Halsey! She has always known she likes girls and talks about when she was a teen making out with a girl while they were both youth camp leaders. The song “bad at love” talks about 2 relationships with men and 2 relationships she had women and says she’s the common denominator between all the bad relationships so she’s recognizing she was a problem and tries to be better. ❤️

I am BRAND NEW to you and your channel. Your reaction to IICHLIWP came up as a suggested video for me and I am a huge Halsey fan, so I had to watch. Now I’m here. Since you started the video saying you’d only heard Halsey’s song with The Chainsmokers, it’s amazing that you were able to be so familiar with them in just a few songs. Some of your interpretations make wanna scream “No, that’s not it, but you’re so close!” haha But overall you really get Halsey’s essence and it’s super cool to see. New subscriber for sure!
