I like how diary of a wimpy kid is an actual example of when a sociopath and a psychopath clash

I'll never forget the book where Manny reveals to have learned Spanish perfectly. It took me three years to learn the basics of French, while this three year old kid became bilingual without even struggling.

*Manny nearly freezes the Heffley's to death* Manny: "You never taught me how to tie my shoes!" Mom: "Understandable. Have a great day."

I remember when I was a kid, I bought the "Diary of a Wimpy: Kid Do It Yourself Book", and for one of the prompts, I drew a dead murdered corpse of Manny to show my hate for him.

Manny: can barely speak English, but understands how a circuit board works, can pull off complex manipulations, and knows fluent Spanish.

The funny thing about Manny blaming his inability to tie his shoes is that Greg already knew the real reason why Manny almost killed everyone. In the paragraph just above the one in 0:57 or page 204, it says, “When things got bad, Manny must’ve figured it was every man for himself. I think he would’ve let the rest of us freeze to death as long as HE had enough to survive.” In other words, Manny was most likely making up an excuse when he got caught red handed.

Not to mention, when Greg was in the HOSPITAL getting his tonsils out, Manny tried to sell all his stuff.

There was a time in one of the first books when Greg says Rodrick used to break his heart by pretending he was leaving home in order to manipulate him, but then Greg tries the same trick on Manny and Manny just uses it as an excuse to start eating his candy. He's fucked in the head.

I hate Manny in the 6th book. He didn't get punished for almost freezing his mom and brothers to death just cause nobody taught him how to tie his shoes.

But when Manny is drawn in Rowley's perspective, his head shape isn't like a crocodile, it's normal.

The fact that Manny is smart enough to blackmail Greg is just unbelievable. I guess we know who the true villain of the wimpy kid series.

I love how this went from Manny being a psychopath to, “Oh, Manny ain’t even human and he’s plotting the destruction of the universe”. 😂

To be fair, Manny probably heard his parents say "He's only three" and copied it because it always got him out of problems

Manny's age isn't an excuse for his actions, if anything, it makes the situation worse. If he's doing this sort of stuff at three years old, imagine what he'll do as an adult.

3:07 thats not a "tinfoil ball of death", thats a caltrop, and they are a warcrime. Usually made with spikes, their purpose is EXACTLY what happens in the book. Usually they have 4 spikes like a 4 sided die: 3 bottom, 1 top, assembled in a piramid shape. Sometimes they have more to increase the chance you step on a pointy end or step in multiple, shredding the inside of your foot which is important to walk. Rowly and greg got LUCKY that rowly sat on it, cause if any of those 2 stepped on it while not paying attention they would not be walking for at least a day depending on how well the picks were attached, where they hit, and how hard they stepped on it. Just imagine if -karen- susan gave manny anything he wanted and looked away, he could have made a legit caltrop using 3 spikes and a cork (this actually works as a caltrop, people have actually used this).

In the movie version of Cabin Fever, he legit says "yummy" when Roderick talks about cannibalism. He's clearly intelligent and probably knows what it means.

I remember in Middle school (or maybe early highschool?) one of my friends had a theory Manny wasn't actually a baby but one of those people who don't physically age past a certain point in their youth and that he somehow managed to switch places with the actual Manny and has just been some grown a$$ man pretending to be a toddler and screwing over the family for kicks, mind you this was back when there was only like three books so most of us laughed it off but as the series went on I started to wonder if Josh was onto something...

My theory about Manny:Manny was given a strange illness that he can remember anything before his life right now, that’s the reason why in Long Haul, he can speak perfect Spanish and in Cabin Fever, he knows how to turn off the heat throughout the house.

Alright, here's my list of every time Manny did something horrible (let me know if I missed any) He: - Drew on Greg's door with permanent marker - Fooled Susan into thinking the piece of yarn Greg accidentally made him swallow was the size of an orange - Broke Greg's video game system - Made a spiky tinfoil ball that got Rowley injured - Minipluated Greg into getting more candy - Used Franks Civil War Battlefield as a giant play table - Always finds Greg's new stuff and breaks them - Almost freezed and starved his entire family to death - Sold all of Greg's items on a video game and changed his password so he couldn't get back on - Blamed his imaginary friends on stuff - Didn't put any effort into fake money but still made a killing - Drove away with the Heffley's car - Peed his pants in public to get out of going to the toddlers zone - Got out of the backyard by building a staircase out of snow

Here's a theory: greg is a sociopath, and he writes these stories. What we read is what he tells us. This might be the way Greg sees manny, and could be exaggerated. Or Manny could just be an asshole

Was there ever a moment Roderick was a victim of manny? I legitimately question if manny did things to roderick and framed greg for it resulting in a lot of drama between the two?

One thing I've noticed is that Manny is often rewarded when Greg and Roderick get in trouble, especially in the first few books.

This gave me an idea: Many people also have proof of Greg being a sociopath/psychopath. I think Greg could be taking his anger on other people since he can’t get away with getting mad at Manny.

If Manny broke my game system,I’d take his allowance.

Another thing that I noticed about Manny is that he is the only one out of the 5 family members to have details in his ears. Perhaps, Manny is Greg's and Rodrick's half sibling? Meaning that Susan must've cheated on Frank at some point.

I remember in one of the books that whenever Susan tried to plan a play group with Manny, he would always just lock himself up in the pig's pen with all his toys so the other kids would have nothing to do.

I think the writer, (Jeff Kinney) just tried to make an average 3 year old, your average Dad, Mom, and brother and average teenager going through puberty. Little did he know, kids in 2022 would really just start to roast the book and the personality traits of the characters were just too dated or too obscure. Also, great vid, binged the entire diary of a wimpy kid series.

You forgot the *PLOOPY* *CHURCH* *SCENE* Manny is so spoiled that his parents *ENABLE* him to bring as many toys to church as he possibly can. If you don't remember, it's when Greg whispers "Ploopy" into Manny's ear, causing him to have a mental breakdown. This forces the whole family to leave the church in embarrassment while carrying all those toys.

I think some of Manny's behavior is caused by Susan because she favors him out of all of her sons and Manny does not get punished.

I actually have an explanation as to why Manny uses his age as leverage: His parents use it so much that he started saying it himself. This actually happened to my brother; the adults kept saying “but he’s just a little kid” and he’s started using that *himself.* He may be a little sh!t but he’s no psychopath. It’s an example of kids copying adults’ behavior. That’s something perfectly normal.

This is the best DOAWK (Diary of a Wimpy Kid) video ever!!!

This made me realize something else. (This isn't about Diary of a Wimpy Kid, or even books at all). So, I had this best friend that I'll call Beth. Beth started off nice, hanging out with my and my best friend (who I'll call El). Something I really should've noticed though was that most of my class found Beth annoying, and Beth said that 'all her past friends had been toxic or fake'. That should've been a red flag. Anyway, she was all nice but she started getting very different. First, we all made up a dance. And when I say 'we all' I mean Beth and El did most the dance and I would basically just watch. I felt a little left out and told them that. El (who I've been friends with for 6 years) agreed and asked Beth if either I could join, or we could change the dance to make it suitable for all 3 of us. Beth said no. I sometimes teased El, but I knew she didn't get offended. El knew that whenever I teased her, I was just joking and I wasn't being rude. El never asked me to stop, and she never showed any signs of being hurt by what I said. Beth decided to get all annoyed whenever I teased El. She got really angry and plain rude. We started arguing about it, and here's another red flag. Beth was a very aggressive, violent girl. After our arguments, I would stay far away from her because I was honestly frightened of what she might do. Eventually, our arguments happened every day. And every day, although I was keeping my distance, she would come over to me and always say (in a dumb baby voice): '-My name- I'm sowwy :c' And she would hug me while doing that. One time I shrugged her off after a really bad argument, and she said 'I feel like you don't wanna be my fwiend anymowe 🥺'. I was so tempted to say 'You're right' but I didn't. I wish I did. Then, we had yet another argument. (This all happened at school, at break / lunch). I was just walking around, keeping my distance and I glanced over at her. She was glaring at me, watching me walk around. I glared right back and kept walking. I looked over again, and she was still watching me. I got really freaked out. This happened again one more time, but after that, she stopped. At this point, I told my family and another close friend. Thank goodness I had that close friend, because soon enough, Beth just stopped acting like I existed. Whenever me, her, and El were chatting, me and El were trying our very hardest to include me. I felt replaced and super upset. But that close friend was always there for me. I stayed with her, as she was often alone too. She let me vent to her about Beth, and always helped cheer me up. She became my new best friend. When I spoke to another friend though, she said that 'El was allowed to have friends other than me' which made things worse. I knew that. I just don't want her to be stuck with a toxic, lying, fake friend. One day, things got so much harder. I was wearing one of those hats with the strings that you tie around your chin. I was joking around with El, and Beth decided that it was so offensive that she grabbed the strings of my hat, and pulled as hard as she could. She looked furious, she was shaking because of how hard she was pulling and her hands were right out to the sides. El saw it all. She stood there like a deer in headlights. I managed to pull the hat off, and I ran for my life. Later, (since I wouldn't let Beth come near me) El told me that Beth said it was 'just a joke'. As if. I told the school, and Beth wasn't allowed near me for a week. The next day, Beth came up to me and said 'Im sowwy, I was angwy..' But I ignored her. I stayed far away, and on the very rare occasions that Beth even wanted to talk to El, (which was often when her other friend was busy) I would go to my other close friend. Recently, we've all ended up hanging out again. Beth made the excuse of 'Oh yeah, I wasn't even trying to strangle you. I was trying to take your hat and my hands slipped.' As if. Beth's been fine since then, but one day I was speaking to El about her for whatever reason, and we started getting annoyed at each other. In El's words: 'It's more likely that she was trying to take your hat and her hands slipped than her trying to (uhh, how do I put this..) unalive you!' I told her 'Fine, believe the girl you've been friends with for about a year over your best friend of 6 years! Don't come crying when she ends up betraying you too!' but that was basically forgotten the next day. Anyways, a few weeks later (not even that long ago) I was making a joke about her crush (we were all doing a huge play, and in it he stole her character's wig) so me and El started calling him 'Margaret Thatcher the Weave Snatcher'. She didn't seem to mind when El said it, but when I said it, she turned to me with and said to me (while glaring at me) 'If you say that again, I'll punch you.' Yeah, no, I left. She's been all friendly since then, but I'm scared that she'll try the same thing again. Anyways, listening to the common traits of a psychopath, let me make a little list. 'Frequently faking emotions' - Yep, I'm pretty sure she was only pretending to be sorry. And it happened every day. 'Intelligent' - I think so. She claimed to have a lot going on at home, or to be really stressed out, or that me and El were her only friends. She always brought that up whenever we argued, and I think she was trying to guilt trip me. 'Lack of morality' - Yes, yes, yes. 'Manipulative' - Absolutely. She knew how passive El was, and I believe she took advantage of that. So I'm pretty sure my ex-best friend is a psychopath. (Yayy, fun..) Also that joke that made her strangle me? Easy. I was shipping El with the Duolingo bird. Also, some extra red flags: Her younger sister called her scary (alright, her little sister is very young to be fair.) I think her mum called her crazy (yep, makes sense). Another kid in my class called her a psychopath. (Probably not wrong). If anyone has advice, please tell me!

I love how out of all the members of the Heffley family, Grandpa and Rodrick are the only sane ones. I mean Rodrick is just some edgy teenager in a band, and Grandpa is an eccentric old dude

All I can say is, when Manny inevitably grows up into a spoiled and entitled brat, Frank and Sue only have themselves to blame and deserve every bit do hardship in the future.

Maturing is realizing that the diary of a wimpy kid isn't just the story of a chaotic but normal family that seems to attract trouble, it shows how two crazy people had children, who also grew up to be crazy.

I remember how Manny (pretends to) barely speak English yet, can't pronounce words (bubby for example), but at the end of Long Haul, he fluently speaks Spanish while he grew up in an entirely English-speaking family. If this isnt the sign of Manny being supernatural, then I dont know what is.

in all seriousness, he would probably be classifies as a psychopath... if he was over 18. a minor cannot be diagnosed as a psychopath until they are a legal adult because their brains aren't developed enough for it. there is, however, a separate diagnosis for children.

Fun fact: Manny knows how electronics work from how he knows how the power box, how he knows how a console works and by stuffing a cookie in it for it to maulfunction , how he figured out how to operate the parental controls and only puts kids channels for himself and doesn’t tell anyone the password, and how he learned how the computer works.

This theory actually makes sense. Clearly, if you read the Long Haul towards the end Manny is viewed as a good boy who learned another language. But he also uses this ability to get what he wants. The pig. When Greg was Manny’s age, he wasn’t treated the same as his parents treated Manny. They do anything he wants, almost like he’s a god.

He only EVER done one good thing for others at the end of the deep end the bridge breaks with there family camper so manny TURNED the camper to fit in the bridge and saved everyone

The fact that Manny could get away with anything and his parents would just give him anything he wanted really stuck with me as I read the books. So much so that when I drew my own version of the Heffley’s house years ago, I made Manny’s room the size of a mansion with a ball pit, a pool, and an Eiffel Tower of Christmas presents and toys, and I made Greg and Rodrick’s rooms smaller than they were, since it seemed to me like Susan and Frank only cared about Manny and wanted to forget they had 2 other sons.

I never really thought about all of your theories but now that I’ve watched them I have 2nd thoughts
