I saw a story just like this and it turned out be the old lady across the street. She was outbid by the family that bought it and began to terrorize them. Its someone in the neighborhood or a person that wanted the house badly.
steven XO Not likely because it’s happened before the young family bought the house. Didn’t they mention eerie HISTORY. Old school letters sent. Likely childhood emotion connected. Can feel it in the writing. Misty water color memories... Unresolved. Sad.
There was some other case I saw on one of the investigative shows where a woman lost a bid on her dream home and became so obsessed that she mercilessly stalked the person who did buy the house. It went on for years. She became dangerous and finally was arrested. This story reminded me of that. I think someone was outbid on their dream house and instead of moving on and finding their next dream house, they harassed the buyers
Was this the case where she posted adult classified ads soliciting people to break into the home and “roleplay” a rape fantasy where the target would “stay in character” and never use a safe word?
@@petemavus2948 yep, she also sent letters to all the married women in the neighborhood pretending to be the husband that bought the house. The idea was for the wive's husbands to think they were cheating with the guy. Some believed it too.
I would be checking out everyone who ever placed an offer on that home. This looks like a sore loser who figured out how to get them to sell, and sell cheap.
I agree, it has to be someone who is just bitter. I think it is a housewife/mom who skates by disguised by that....I think it is someone in their neighborhood.
@Caligula Are you referring to the woman who put an ad on Craigslist pretending to be the woman who lived in the home, and invited men to come over unannounced? That person was just gross.
@We Have To Go Back they did rent it out, giving renters the option to break the lease if the letters continued, they even installed security cameras and a security system for the renters. But the letters continued and got increasingly threatening, so the renters left.
They coulda just got rid of their mailbox and got a po box. Then the dude would have to physically drop it off. Nothing a $10 camera couldnt solve at that point.
Hope she watches RU-vid and yes it’s a woman when the DNA came back cause of the Y chromosome, but yea I hope they watch RU-vid I’m call them out for being salty losing the house next time work harder.
That inspires me to send creepy odes constantly to get what I want to the local store, the mechanic, my doctor, the DJ, the postal office, Santa Claus...
$400,000 is an incredible amount of money to lose. It could have been a neighbor. I would have walked on the front lawn buck naked with a sign saying "watch this you azzhole"
The show was so disappointed, only 10% of it is based on the true events, the rest of it is just cheap fiction none related to the real story, although the John Graff actually happened still not related to this story.i
@@krissyc6000 oh shoot lol. In the beginning of the series it states based on true events. But you know these days the embellishments made for dramatic effects is so extra.
@@museme6309 They're saying that it's possible that the new buyer of the house was the watcher all along and that it was a plot to scam the owner into selling it for $400k less than they paid so that they could afford to buy if from them. Which isn't far fetched at all
That's horrible! It's easier said than done to tell this family to stay in the home with small children. For their peace of mind I'm glad they had the means to move!
That's why you outfit security cameras, gates, possessing a gun or multiple guns also helps if someone tries shit like that... a bummer is pretty useful for ending stalkers one way or another. Now they literally lost $400,000, that's most likely multiple years worth of income for them. And having children is only going to make that loss even more of a burden.
oanh lai I’m pretty sure he didn’t deliver them personally, he probably put it in the mail, and the mailman delivered them Pretty sure the police would’ve caught this guy long time ago... if he did deliver them
Through investigation, ya right. They wrote this off as a crank and didn't even TRY to investigate. IF this had been a real investigation, they would have set up camera's in a surveillance vehicle and caught him/her in a week minimum. This entire story is a perfect example of police NOT doing their job because it wasn't worth their time (in their opinion).
lol he/her didnt deliver the mail.. 3 years later alot has been discovered ugh watch the new netflix series about it. but yea LOL nobody walked up man too put it in the mail
All they needed was security cameras, outdoor sensors, Alarms, window sensors and two Dobermans or pitbulls and firearms. That is better than any police officer imo. That's the best 24/7 security anybody could ever have.
Maybe he was faking about seeing the family. If previous owners got the letter, maybe it's a neighbor. Cameras would catch who puts the mail in the box. Maybe it's the mailman.
It's not BS. I watched the Buzzfeed Unsolved documentary on this case. They had a couple suspects, but their case was super thin and they little to no proof to convict anyone. It sounds like the DNA proof they had, couldn't be traced back to anyone in particular.
Was waiting for the yanky gun talk, guns solve everything, just randomly start shooting and claim stand your ground laws, if kids get in the way it's their fault and your right to own guns and shoot whenever/whoever you want
@@CZF971 if the problem isn't guns it's the person that owns them why are there so many school shootings in merica, there's none in the UK or Aus in the last 25 years, there must be a lot of physcopaths there. No I don't have the experience with guns over here as if you ever open carry a gun in Aus and your not at a shooting range you will be arrested, plus we can shoot first and use stand your ground as a justification for murder.
The new owners forced them to lower the price by tormenting them with letters. Due to the disclosure law, they have to tell the new potential owners of the history of the place. Id take a realllly close look at the new owners!
I GUES, CAUSE THOSE HOUSES ARE WELL BUILD AND HAVE CHARACTER. THEY USED THE BEST WOOD TO BUILD IT. NOWADAYS HOUSES ARE BUILD WITH POPSICLES WOOD STICK AND CRAZY GLUE. PLUS THEY PROBABLY ARE IN THE BEST PART OF TOWN.
I'll TRY AGAIN. I GUESS THOSE HOUSES ARE MADE WITH VERY GOOD WOOD THE FINEST STRONGEST WOOD EVER, LIKE MAHOGANY, THE HOUSES COMES WITH BEAUTIFUL BUILD IN SHELVES AND MORE THAN ONE FIRE PLACE BIG PANTRY ETC. ON THE CONTRARY HOUSES NOWADAYS ARE BUILD WITH POPSICLE STICKS AND CRAZY GLUE, AND NO BUILD-INS, CAN YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCE??? PLUS THEY ARE SET IN THE BEST PART OF TOWN.
With 1.3 million you can have a good quality house built definitely better than the one showed.an old house is still an old house.the older the more of a money pit it becomes
Looks like the watcher got himself a good deal on the house, it just took some patience and a couple of creepy letters. Question, what can the watcher be charged with because from the quotes they gave he never threatened the owners and I am sure the news picked the most disturbing quotes for this story and none of it seemed illegal.
They allowed an unknown threat to drive them out of their house? It could’ve been a prank. An advanced security system and a gun would’ve helped tremendously.
In a level I agree but as a mom I get their point what would you do? And a gun can take days due to background check but I do agree before they moved in they got the letters and that by then should have you time.
Why is this even still a thing? I can't believe people would allow themselves to be bullied like this. It's time to take this seriously and find out who this guy is
panacoaster Yep, that's why thousands of people are leaving NYC every year, partly because of the overall cost of living especially in terms of real estate.
First thing I do in every home I move into is to make sure I can close either blinds or curtains so people can't see into my house if I don't want them to. Creepy folks out there in the world with nothing better to do apparently.
The fact that the writer answers the question on how he/she can know so I’m much of the movement and what goes on in the house isn’t because of the windows or doors... I guarantee he/she has listening devices in walls/vents!
This sounds familiar , heard a story like this , turned out to be some lady that wanted the house herself . So she terrorized the family, trying to scare them out ...
How awful they had to buy a different million dollar + house... life must just be terrible for these poor people... On to the next one.. which could take several hours to find....
They should check the list of previous owners because of the person wrote that they didn’t like the renovations. It’s probably someone who previous owned the home and probably got evicted or couldn’t afford it anymore and they are jealous and petty.
Sounds like the intruder.Very weird.I know we must protect our children but I wish they could have found another way,but peace of mind is priceless. If the watcher knew about the renovation they had been there.A security system would have caught someone leaving letters to.
Why not just install security cameras? In any case, how much do you want to bet that the person that ended up buying the house was "the watcher". It was all part of his master plan to get the house at a discounted price.
No it won’t make sense, and that is the first thing the owners did but the letters were dropped into those mailboxes by the side walk on the street anyone can use a fake address that’s the tricky part their kinda smart on that idea.
People are far to skittish to get ran off by some letters. No way someone is chasing me from my home with stupid letters. I would have made a chalkboard billboard to write the stalker back and let the real mind games begin! It would start with "Dear secret admirer oh how much I enjoyed your letters we are truely kindred spirits!"
Right? Nobody will ever scare me enough to make me leave a 1.3 million dollar home. With the 400k they lost they could've easily used that to install security.
@@Thats_MarieHoney So do I, they would gladly have dinner table discussions on what to say in the billboard letter LOL. I would legit do a news interview with a fake letter with sweet and innocent stuff in it and say that was what my response was to just to further convince the writer I was serious. If that person was a threat they would be enticed to reveal themselves to me and if not they would not want to mess with me! This may seem reckless but from a psychological standpoint most of the dangerous ones don't write letters to their victims, they stalk and strike with little to no warning so the most likely outcome would be an end to the letters.
I'm kinda surprised at how easily they gave up. Get a security system. Get a permit to own a firearm. I be damned if a threatening anonymous letter makes me give up my dream home. I would take that as a challenge. If they got the money to buy a million dollar home, they got money for security. Side Note: I am still blown away at house prices. That house would be about $500,000 dollars in my city.
I have family that live in NJ (all around) and I never heard of any house anywhere that is even close to 1 million. What? They might as well have bought a house in NYC in certain neighborhoods.
It's easy to sit back and say these people gave up easily. I grew up in a different but similar circumstance, a haunted house. Being terrorized at night by what ever was in the house. Years later my parents admitted experiencing the same strange things, apparently we moved because of it.
It sounds like the Watcher got a great deal on a house. I grew up in the hood everybody watching one another. Camera's sercurity something. I know that block got a Neighborhood watch.
It's a pretty good point - like others mentioned here - that someone called himself :"the Watcher", wanted so badly that specific beautiful and wide property the Broadduses bought, but couldn't afford it - if you observe the letters, the writer's Jealousy & Possessiveness regarding the house is pretty obvious-, so he/she started to terrorize the family in order to send them violently away... But isn't it strange that when the family filed a suggestion to the town's board in order to approve the split of the property & construction of two separate new houses, unanimously all the neighbors turned it down, by expressing a resentment to anything new that would violate their home town scenery and architecture, as they have been used to it? While, on the contrary the board had accepted similar cases, as Maria the wife had declared! I mean the majority of the neighbors seems to line up with the opinions of the so called :"Watcher"! So, it hasn't come up through police's mind, that maybe the whole neighborhood was nurturing feelings of despise against that family? The reasons remain unknown:fear against anything new in town, jealousy regarding family's wealth and prosperity, simple bullying and terrorism...? Besides human's wickedness and viciousness is well known...
Ive heard a few stories of anomynous people attacking new home owners from moving in.. If you can afford a home like this get good security cameras, a gun and a couple of Rottweiler dogs... Especially near your mailbox and catch the creep.. That should do it!
