I just bought Mansions of Madness base game and thought to myself "I sure could use a buyer's guide on what to get next." And bam, here it is, freshly uploaded! Thanks, really interested in that Valkyrie app!
I've had the game for 2 days, I didn't realize until tonight after several games with friends playing the 2 star first scenario, that your face down damage and madness reset after the first time they fill up 😱. The wounded and insane mechanic looks like a lot of fun, and the 3-5 star don't look nearly intimidating now 😂. But, I will say it made the 2 star MUCH harder (we only won once in 3 games) which is kind of a good thing for the theme. Just a suggestion for anyone who played it plenty and looking for variety
Was just curious about a couple of things if you have time to reply. Are either of you big HP lovecraft fans? Familiar with his work? Have you played any roleplay heavy games (D&D, pathfinder, etc)?
The game does a great job of subtly peppering in little nods to his poems and short stories with the mythos events. I've caught several already, and I've only played 2 adventures (played the DLC dark reflections tonight, and it was a blast!). Mansions of Madness is definitely a great homage to his body of work that fans of his will appreciate.
13:25 why does that surprise you? That's exactly how it's supposed to be. Those scenarios are connected to the specific expansions. If you expect it to show up more often you didn't get the point I think LOL.
Thanks so much. This is far better, although the price is a consideration. Also, as this is coop you can lose after a few hours, whereas betrayal is player vs. player. The issue with betrayal is each scenario requires players to learn a new set of rules while playing, and if someone messes up, the game is ruined. Not so much a problem in MoM. We've had a lot of good times with betrayal, but I would always 100% pick MoM over it.
@@BoardOfItReviews couldn't agree more about Betrayal. It's really a big turn down and disruption of the whole horror vibe when the haunt finally happens and you have to stop the game for 15min to explain new rules for everyone. I absolutely love the game, but it requires people with interest in the theme and patience for rules. I've mostly played it solo, even though there's no solo mode 😂.
Not official, there might be one in TTS or something. If there was a digital version, there wouldn't be a point in the game existing physically tbh as so much of it is app based!
This sounds suspiciously like Imperial Assault, you buy just the core game to check it out, before you know it you have an entire room full of boxes :P
I don't think I'd worry about it, it would be a real surprise if a new edition came out. I don't think anyone who worked on it still works at Fantasy Flight, and now FF is owed by another company. Plus no new content has come out for years.
Asmodee doesn't seem interested in anything but the card games, so I'd say you're safe. Get them before they stop printing them entirely like the tile/figure packs
I got it on android but be prepared to do some weird stuff. But the website kinda tells you how to do it. It might be better on a laptop than trying on an android tablet or phone. But I got it running on my galaxy 23 plus using their guid and tutorials
We play them as campaign so we did the party with stolen Amazon artefacts then travel to the Amazon with the basilisk guarding the tomb and then the tomb and now about to go back to London via the blimp we don't want to do the ship as it forced a player to be killed and be evil so story we are skipping it and we keep the weapons and spells and items be get each mission so we get stronger and with 5 players in Australia it's so expensive for the stuff sadly but worth it
I can't support any company that squeezes me for every possible cent it can. The fact that the app is limited to one device is ridiculous and tells me everything I need to know about this product and company.
Isn’t the app free, and DLCs just a couple of bucks? With Fantasy Flight, just buy the extras when you want them. I do think their products are usually pretty good.
I completely agree with you. It’s frustrating that they don’t just give the dlc as continued support for an expensive game. Fantasy flight has their loyal audience who will gladly and freely throw their money to them, it’s bizarre.
