Today I am unboxing the MAONO AU-PM401 from Amazon. I was looking for a mic to use for both game chat on PC, as well as a good mic to dub over some videos when I need to add some audio or talk over the video. The stock internal mic on my iMac wasn't cutting it for me.
I looked at probably close to 50 mics from ones that need phantom power, to USB mics that just sit on the desk. Watched tons of video reviews and ended up going with this one based on the price ($52.99 at my time of purchase) and the sound quality was amazing. I wanted a natural full sound, whereas a lot of mic's in this price range leave a lot to be desired. Most have a very tinny, unpleasant sound like the garbage internal mic on my computer.
The only thing I change on this mic is the gain. I bump it up just a little bit because i'm usually a bit farther away than you should be, but it still sounds perfect.
