Ka Kooingo, ka mahara Ki te mauri o Te Atua E te kamaka e te kaiwhakaora Ka hahana te Manawa Ki te ihi karangaranga Kei toku Atua e hareruia Hareruia, hareruia, hareruia, hareruia X2
I once witnessed a Maori farewell at an airport in Aukland. A crowd of about 20 people were wishing their two friends farewell. The music was so sincere and powerful I broke into tears, and I am not a cryer, and although I appreciate most forms of music I have never been so instantly thunderstruck as I was that day. New Zealand is otherworldly gorgeous, the people are wonderful and the music is spectacular. I really did not want to leave.
I'm Mexican American, I only know how to speak English and Spanish, but this video inspired me to learn the Maori version of this song. Love Maori culture
Omar Islas thank you for your input. First time I saw the video was on FB. I may be ridiculed for sharing this on my RU-vid channel by some but I find all culture unique. I love my poly people. I'm pretty sure the Maori community appreciates the love.... This group of beautiful talented folcz need to be recognized. Share if you like.
Glorious. Been to New Zealand three times, absolutely loved it, if my kids and grandkids weren't here my husband and I would relocate like a shot and shake the dust of Oz off our feet. And if ever there was a language I'd love to learn, it's got to be Maori. Might actually have a stab at it. Wish me luck.
He himene purotu tenei. Nga kupu... Ka koingo ka mahara Ki te mauri o te Atua E te kamaka e te kaiwhakaora Ka hahana te Manawa Ki te ihi karanga ranga Kei toku Atua e Hareruia hareruia hareruia hareruia hareruia
Oh my! This is breathtaking!!! The harmony is outstanding! The settings is so beautiful. I love the traditional dress. Seriously, I don't know how there could be one critical or negative comment on this video. I'm in tears because of the sheer beauty of these people gathered together singing this classic song with such amazing harmony and true heartfelt pride in their culture. I'm so thankful they made this video and shared these few moments of stunning spiritual and vocal harmony with us. Thank you! Love from Missouri in the USA 💞🙏✝️
When my husband listened to this he said he felt the Holy Spirit so strongly. He loved it so much and became emotional as well. It's so beautiful. Thank you again for sharing! ❤
Kia ora from Aotearoa, NZ. Just letting you know a lot of Maori from Northland particularly Hokianga region have Dalmatian Tupuna (Ancestors). They came to NZ pre colonisation in the late 1700s to be gum diggers and whalers. A lot of Maori in this region have brown skin and blue or green eyes. So by ancestry according to traditions.....Kia ora whānau (family) we haven't met yet 😃
I’m Singapore, went to New Zealand for a year in 2020 and I absolutely fell in love with everything about the Māoris. Listening to this made me tear up. Take care people
To my awesome Maori brothers and sisters, thank you for being who you are, thank you for your passion, thank you for having us Pakeha as your whanau, and to all our newer brothers and sisters from other lands, our Maori people are one of the reasons Aotearoa is such a wonderful place to live :-) Kia tau ki a tātou katoa Te atawhai o tō tātou Ariki, a Ihu Karaiti Me te aroha o te Atua Me te whiwhingatahitanga Ki te wairua tapu Ake, ake, ake Amine May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all Forever and ever Amen
Whenever I feel like I need a boost to my mana I pump this on repeat. And bask in the beauty and absolute glory and vibe of my people singing their hearts out to our MOST GLORIOUS HEAVENLY FATHER 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Works a charm. #heartAs #JC

Nearly 1 year since I lost a wonderful, caring, kind student from suicide. I loved hearing about his Maori culture, his family and what was going on in his life. A truely beautiful soul who is so missed by many. This song reminds me of him. Rest In Peace dear N.
Greetings and blessings all the way from Sweden! Such a beautiful performance by a beautiful indigenous group of people. Made my heart feel warm. We support your fight for equal rights and the vote on changing new Zealand to aotearoa.
Im Samoan. I rep all my poly folcz. I love the different languages we all have. I love NZ visited for a month in 06 with my parents. walking up and down Porirua I've met some amazing Maori people. so much culture still there and of course this is my favorite song lol.

04/10/2021 wonderful, Amen. My daughter immigrated to NZ In 2003 and I’ve been there ten times. I came back to South Africa three months ago after twenty three months in NZ. Listening to the Maori Hallelujah brought tears to my eyes and goose bumps too. My grand daughter went to classes to learn your beautiful language. God bless NZ.
I am in the USA. I love the Maori traditional "dances" and chants. I feel the spiritual power in them, whether for weddings or funerals. I look for a the New Zealand shows when I 'stream' TV. This is beautiful. I am so happy to see aboriginal nations worship Heavenly Father and still hold onto their traditional song and dances.
Alas I am Australian, I wish I was a New Zealander. We are not far apart distance wise, but oceans apart culturally wise. Bless you for such beautiful music.
I'm Maori and used to visit Aus every Winter,, Goldie was the spot for me,must have to say I never had a negative reaction or comment come my way while i was over there, Guess those Ausie people I encountered realised we are family, I'll always hold Australians dear to my heart, Cheers from NZ,
When I first heard to this song a few years ago my tears started rolling down my cheeks. I grew up in Maori Culture it reminded me of my childhood when I used to part take in Kapa Haka. Im not Maori, but Maori waiata hit different when your taught how to sing it and the discipline that comes with it. It fills your heart, and this song is one of those songs that fills your heart and soul. Nga mihi.❤🙏
Im amazed that 1 sòng from 1 culture, sung in the language of another culture inspired from the religion of another culture. Brings us all together just to know that God was there the whole time regardless. And he just wanted to say "i love you my babies"
A little context.. This is Hatea kapa haka group performing hallelujah "hareruia" in Sicily Italy along side other cultures including Poland, Thailand and Italian.
My children sing this song to themselves to sleep and it was the first I had ever heard. It makes me proud to know that they have learned this song and to hear how beautiful this rendition is makes me proud even more. Thank you for the upload ❤️
As Maori, my heart is filled with the pain that comes from knowing that our gods/godesses (seen in the natural world) and our concept of the ever-presence of our ancestors, were supplanted by a Pakeha notion of one god. The people who brought Christianity to Aotearoa did so at the expense of my people. And the Mormons thought only a white person could attain status within their system. I hv no time for Christianity but I love my people and wish them te arohanui. I now live in Hawaii and hv seen the cultural devastation inflicted upon our cousins. Kia kaha me te aroha!
Tika te korero. Although this is sung in the tune of Hallelujah the kupu (words) could never translate. What people need to understand is our Reo (language) is literally the language of the wairua (soul) hence why it don't matter what language you speak it's understood by the soul
Wherever our people are our Gods go with us. That's why the power of our Mauri is felt everywhere. One line. Don't feel sad. I understand your mamai. It's alright.
My dear friend, heaven rest her soul, loved her Maori roots and introduced me to their music, haka, and so much more. She cherished New Zealand and I just know she would have loved hearing this.
I am dutch and lived as a kid in NZ for 3 years. I so love the maori culture and music and the language omg......and am a huge Leonard Cohen fan. This makes me feel like crying.....very emotional. TY for posting
This the best Group version of Hallelujah I have ever heard!!! This tops any Group I have heard over the years. Well done you should be very proud!!! Not only do you hear the Spirit but you can feel it's presence. God Bless you All.
Holly Holly Holly ❤ ... Profound and my tears are rolling down ... Even the Lord would never miss this special church ⛪ 🙏 ... Thank You all & God Protect 🙏 ... Wow 👏 🙏 ❤ 💖
Most Moaris can really sing...the harmonising is great too. My godfather was in the Army that fought in Vietnam...and I have his name...Bobby Wiki Tame Para...hope I spelled it correctly...not sure if he is still alive...
@@freedomreigns9404 agreed. I am Maori and i think our African brothers and sisters have some of the most beautiful voices and natural harmonies when they sing together!
Music is always the key to the soul. This song in general always brings tears to my eyes, but when I heard THIS?!? I about lost it from how beautiful it is. 💞💞💞😭😭😭
This is the most beautiful version of this song and it stays in your head above all others. Beautifully sung and i believe Maori sing with their hearts too, take the roof off any building so all can hear.
Oh.My.Word. That was as good (or better) than any classical choir singing in the greatest cathedral! What a privilege to have been able to hear it. It's amazing what people can achieve when they simply gather together and give it their all, isn't it? Thank you SO much to the choir and to the uploader! XX
I feel this song deep in my Soul, love it. Sometimes it heals my heart sometimes it makes me cry for what's happening in our society and my life & how my family are. At least I know who loves us the most. Te Atua
They absolutely lit that church up, you could tell everyone else was astounded. Only Polys could do that in Sicily Italy at this Holy Place, laying it down for their true Israelite ancestors. MAORI is a delightful most beautiful language
Maori people always sing from the heart that is where the wairua (spirit) comes from and when u sing from the heart it pretty much comes out being sung BEAUTIFULLY ❤️❤️
I agree wholeheartedly the Maori singers are the best harmonizers in the world .Also Dame Kiri the Kanawa, Inia Te Waita, Daphne Walker and of course Dame Malvina Major have all contributed to our music and culture.🇳🇿🇳🇿
