Maple Sugaring-Milton Hershey School 

Hershey, Pennsylvania got a little sweeter for Milton Hershey School third-graders when they learned about the history and production of maple sugar. Students took a step back in time to discover how Native Americans and early settlers made maple sugar. Then, they flashed forward to taste-test modern-day maple sugar products. MHS Agricultural and Environmental Education program staff developed and led this hands-on learning lesson to encourage students to interact with nature and the world around them.
