I cannot confirm nor deny that I saw Daboki walking into Nexon headquarters yesterday dressed like John Wick, or if above hypothetical scenario had an effect on today's cap removal.
I dont consider it a win, These guys are corperate, they know what they are doing Delay the update > Give us a taste of something (A cap + a booster) and see sentiment of the community, If no one spoke up, we would basically be shackled with gameplay (While forced to pay) Its no different than the government or something trying to ease something in and see if theres kickback, if theres no kickback, They will just take advantage of it Bottom line is they do not care, and people that say they do is delusional, Remember you are a number and a dollar sign to these people.
That's how I've felt about nexon for a while. With the amount of uproar people showed on this issue it's incredibly disappointing to see how quickly everyone was to just jump back on ship with nexon after this change which should have been how it launched. Shows such a depressing lack of resolve in people that were making statements. It's just an abusive relationship where the players don't care how they are treated.
With the community growing and bigger updates on its way, they can't keep to their old ways. They also need to innovate, grow, and adapt to the growing communities. Korea's new director Kim Chang Seop has already expressed to the KMS community that he wants to be more transparent and vocal. He's been doing a lot more monthly/bi-monthly livestreams for the players over there and it's been looking pretty good. I'm not asking GMS to do the same, but these transparent memos are the right steps to take.
Wow I'm so surprised that they reroll this change. I was about to get back into maplestory to check out the new update but got discouraged by the sol erda cap bs, but now I think I will.
Thank you to all the maple player for voicing out their complaints for this paywall cap because if this came to gms I would literally stop playing thank god it got removed befor got implemented today a good day 😊🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I don't really trust what this memo says. The rationale given is okay I guess, it just does not make sense to me if they truly believe what was stated than why was this not being pulled on KMS. I am amazed they even backpedaled on the cap.
Soon Nexon will release another update that's slightly less bad than the Sol Erda cap but probably worse than any successful bad faith update they've managed to implement. If players won't react to it at least the same way they've reacted to the Erda cap, because "it's not that bad" and "we've seen worse", nothing was learned.
While this is good news, we're always gonna keep our eyes peeled on any dumb thing Nexon does. Until they keep pushing on actually trying to improve the game and be transparent with their player base, people will still be bashing on Nexon.
