Marantz SR6015 9.2 channel 8K AV Receiver 

Denon tends to have a slightly more Neutral sound and Marantz slightly more warm. I personally tend to prefer Marantz. However these "differences" are subtle and sometimes you really cannot tell when going in blind. Both are solid products and neither is the "wrong choice."

Hi Leonard, this receiver has a phono preamp, but moving magnet cartridge compatible. So if you have a moving coil cartridge that won't work.

The chassis is known to get a little toasty, and yes that is normal. Also turn eco mode off, it honestly achieves nothing other than robbing your speakers of power.

Perfectly fine, those are pretty easy to drive, and that being said the 6015 has more than enough juice for them anyway.

Does the amplifier come with a speaker or is it an amplifier?

Not on the "Porthole" display, but you can press the info button on the remote to see the current format on your TV.

Thanks D-dubs, a 9.2. system usually has three speakers in front (LCR), two on the sides of the room (often either on the wall or ceiling), two in the rear, and a pair overhead in the ceiling. Two subwoofers are the .2 in a 9.2 system. Assuming you have a 9.2 channel receiver, this gives you a very immersive sound experience, similar to what you get at the local cinema. If you visit an audio dealer with home theater on display, they can play demo material that makes it clear

Hi Thomas, this unit is not advertised as being Room ready. Marantz specs the amp output into 8 or 6 ohm loads, but not 4 ohm, so you'd not want to pair this receiver with a 4 ohm nominal speaker

Beyond the difference of HDMI generation, not so much. The real differences are between model years, and of course more and less costly models.

There are two dedicated sub outs on the back.

@@GramophoneMD Im a new in this world and would really appreciate some help:) I have 3 speakers called Martin Logan SLM x3. Two on the sides and a center is the idea. I want two subs, would the Martin Logan Dynamo x600`s be a good choice? And would this Marantz be enough for the job? Thank you so much!

It makes a faux height sound placement if you don't have height speakers, correct?

Do you like a darker or more neutral timbre?

Both will do just that, it is just about preference for a slightly warmer or more flat character, but one nod I'll give the Denon is more power for similar cost.

Not strongly per say, but it is a little more robust. if you have 4 ohm speakers for example I'd suggest this at minimum.

@@GramophoneMD As I'm planning on buying a pair of ELAC FS 267 at 4 Ohm, I assume I will have to reconsider my amp choice then. Thanks for the input!
