Is it possible for an Army, nay, a Nation, to not only survive, but thrive and come out victorious of a War with an enemy many times stronger, without a towering leader? Not a random skirmish but a 27 year long War. Well, the Marathas did emerge stronger out of the gravest threat to the hopes of Hindu Resurrection, the foundation of the Hindavi Svarajya lay somewhere in this 27 year long test. What was the idea/dream which kept the Marathas above political ills and united for the cause of Svarajya ? Let's gather and listen to someone who, through his research and inquisitiveness, has become a witness to sacrifices made for Svarajya, Shri Aneesh Gokhale.

I am from the state of Telangana... I should say that Chatrapathi Shivaji is a the great leader who should be hailed for bringing the ideology of Hindu Swaraj! This is what we Indians need right now in the 21st century not regional prejudice or caste prejudice... Otherwise we will converted into Christians and Muslims in no time.. Jai Hind! If I were a Hindu, I would be so ashamed of the failures of my forefathers . Look at the beautiful mughal buildings, poetry, music, food, culture, arts, crafts. Mughals gave India such beautiful things and made culturally rich. Hindus could have at best built cow dung huts only. Excellent Video !!! Very Informative.. there is no doubt that Mughal rule in India faced stiff resistance at different periods from the great RAJPUT warriors, fierce AHOMS warriors from Assam & from Punjab the brave SIKHS warriors... Rightly did the great Hindi Poet Bhushana, who forsook the royal favours of the Mughal court to come over to Shivaji to record his glories, he sang :-“काशी की कला जाती, मथुरा की मसजीद बनती, अगर शिवाजी ना होते तो सबकी सुन्नत होती.” meaning : (Had not there been Shivaji, Kashi would have lost its culture,Mathura would have been turned into a mosque and all would have been circumcised.) If not for Shivaji and the Marathas, there would have existed a continuous Islamic belt from Morocco to Indonesia. What addition of 1 billion more adherents to Islam would have done to the world power balance or what would have happened to Indian legacy like yoga, ayurveda, music, art and philosophy, is not difficult to guess…. It is worthwhile examining the 'what if' of Indias history, Aurengzeb, Akbars great great grandson, had embarked on the 'Islamisation' of India. The Marathas, inspired by Shivaji, fought Aurengzeb and saved India from following the fate of Persia. The proof of Maratha victory lies in the fact that Aurengzeb lies buried, not in Lahore /Delhi or Agra , but near Aurangabad in good old Maharashtra... Indian history before Shivaji's advent reads like a chronicle of military disasters. Shivaji changed all that. He used Guerilla Tactics very effectively. Shivaji, as a great warrior & visionary laid a strong and solid foundation that after his death in 1680, there was a series of battles fought between Marathas and Mughals from 1681 to 1707 known as 'War of 27 years' and ended with the death of Aurangzeb in 1707. The Marathas eventually emerged victorious and consolidated their lost territories. This was further expanded by the Peshwas. The Maratha empire reached its peak in summer of 1758 with the conquest of Attock, which is banks of Indus river in Pakistan today. Its eastern frontier was today’s Orissa, being ruled by Raghuji Bhosale of Nagpur. Maratha armies had also reached upto Murshidabad, but then retreated and settled for tribute from Bengal and control of Orissa. To the south, in 1758, territories upto the fort of Gurramkonda in Kadappah district were held. Also, Tanjore (Thanjavur) was under Marathas, but that was a different line. (By the way, just for your G.K, Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is also considered as the 'Father of the Indian Navy'.) Jai HIND !!! VANDE MATARAAM !! VANDE MATARAAM !! VANDE MATARAAM !!

Shivaji 1. Vatandari system's has a flaw. No pride for fighting mugal flag. Only incentive was to increase the watandari. Shivaji fixed this flaw by introducing the idea of hindavi swaraj or Govt for the people and of the people. By the people was not possible at the time of plunders and loots. 2. He created Self Sufficient forts with multiple entries & secret exits along with double walls and ability to grow grains and water tanks within fort itself. This helped to survive long sieges. Fort Ramsej survived Auranzeb attack for 6 years. 3. Created forts in pairs. This helped for supply restoration and cannon cover fire from the nearby fort. example: Ramsej and Trimbak etc. 4. He realized Mughals may wipe of everything one day that he had captured. So he had maintained huge contingency funds for re-recuritment and repairs. His financial risk management done by Ramchandra Pant was atleast 100 years ahead of his time. 5. Every fort had its own budget and maintained self financial sufficiency and least dependence upon parent fort of Raigadh. 6. Stretched his empire to South India to loot the Adil Shahi kingdom and get all wealth back from Muslims. 7. Expanding south also gave him option to fall back /hide in south cities like Vellore. All this was planned well before any attack and without killing a single officer. 8. When Aurangzeb attacked Marathas after 1680 with an Army of 6 lakhs (this biggest in those times), Shivaji's successors and used the south locations to their advantage to built a strategic maratha base when Shivaji died in 1680. 9. It was the largest aggregation of an army at one single place in the madevial times. Such was Shivaji's institutionaly strong legacy. 10. His Son Shambha ji fought 70 battles against Mughals and extended Swaraj to Goa by winning significantly against the Portugese.

@@sumedhasoman8401 what Shivaji Maharaja did was the Kshtriya dharma. And he did it amazingly well in those difficult times. There were many many details of why this and that exactly according ti vedic scriptures. You are belittling the position of his father who had fought wars for the same cause but couldnt succeed. Nay he succeeded of lay the foundation of a successful leadership Shivaji. Trained up young in Nyaya(justice), yuddha and rakshana. The King is crowned so that the people know who should they approach for justice if anything goes wrong. Its not just so easy. And was Shivaji Maharaja forced to be crowned? Common dont fall for these cooked up theories of secularist mentalities and caste politics. He ruled the hearts of people bcoz he lived a real Kshatriya King's life. No less responsibility at all. He succeeded because he was trained up since childhood. Not everyone has the ability to be as such even if they may recieve the training. But likewise all right steps at right times led to victory.

★★★ Awesome.. Superb Video !! While we all enjoy this video let us also not forget that ...'Those who do not learn from History are doomed to repeat it.' The Mughal rule began in 1526 with Babur's accession to the throne, and ended with the death of Aurangzeb in 1707. Overall the Mughals ruled northern part of India for approx 181 years and ruined India. The Mughal empire rapidly disintegrated after Aurangzebs death and was replaced by the Maratha Confederacy. At its peak the Maratha empire covered much of South Asia, with a territory of over 2.8 million km² and stretched from Tamil Nadu in the south, to Peshawar & Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan in the north, and Bengal Subah in the east. To understand the rise and prominence of the Marathas lets dig a little deeper : There is NO doubt that the brutal & fanatic Islamic Mughal rule in India faced stiff resistance at different periods from the great RAJPUT warriors, fierce AHOM warriors from Assam & from Punjab the brave SIKH warriors...rightly did the great Hindi Poet Bhushana, who forsook the royal favours of the Mughal court to come over to Shivaji to record his glories, sang :-“काशी की कला जाती, मथुरा की मसजीद बनती, अगर शिवाजी ना होते तो सबकी सुन्नत होती.” meaning : (Had not there been Shivaji, Kashi would have lost its culture,Mathura would have been turned into a mosque and all would have been circumcised.) If not for Shivaji and the Marathas, there would have existed a continuous Islamic belt from Morocco to Indonesia. The proof of Maratha victory lies in the fact that Aurangzeb lies buried, not in Lahore /Delhi or Agra, but near Aurangabad in good old Maharashtra... Indian history before Shivaji's advent reads like a chronicle of military disasters. Shivaji changed all that. He used Guerilla Tactics (hit and run) very effectively. Shivaji, as a great warrior & visionary laid a solid foundation such, that after his death in 1680, there was a series of battles fought between Marathas and Mughals from 1681 to 1707 known as 'War of 27 years' and ended with the death of Aurangzeb in 1707, about 2.5 million of Aurangzeb's army were killed during the Mughal-Maratha War of 27 years. The Marathas eventually emerged victorious and this was followed by the phase of rapid expansion of the Maratha Empire for the next 50 years under patronage of Shahu and his appointed Peshwas Baji Rao I and Balaji Baji Rao. Chatrapati Shivaji is also credited for the laying the foundation of the Indian Navy. He appointed Kanoji Angre the chief of the Maratha Navy who fought against the British, Dutch and Portuguese naval interests on the coasts of India during the 18th century and became their greatest enemy on sea, so much was he dreaded that the British and Europeans labeled him a pirate. He was instrumental bringing about a considerable change in Naval Warfare by introducing a Blue-water navy in those times. The Maratha empire reached its peak in summer of 1758 with the conquest of Attock, which is banks of Indus river in Pakistan today*(check Notes below). Maratha Empire's eastern frontier was today’s Orissa, being ruled by Raghuji Bhosale of Nagpur. In 1761, the 3rd battle of PANIPAT war was lost to the Afghans but they RECOVERED quickly like phoenix bird from ashes and within 10 years (during the 1770's) brought the whole of North India in their control under the able leadership of Madhavrao Peshwa. Marathas also comprehensively defeated the Nizam of Hyderabad and kept Hyder Ali- Tipu Sultan of Mysore in serious check. During this phase, Pune, the seat of Peshwas, flourished as a center of Hindu learning and traditions. The Confederacy is also credited for developing many of the nation’s important cities like Pune, Baroda under Gaikwads, Indore under Holkars and Gwalior under Shinde's or Scindia's. Eventually, the Marathas grew stronger and fought the British in three Anglo-Maratha Wars (1775-82, 1803-05, 1817-18), In the First Anglo-Maratha War (1775-1782) the Marathas emerged Victorious. A Vijay Stambh (Victory Pillar) erected to commemorate Maratha victory over British is located at Vadgaon/Wadgaon Maval, close to the city of Pune. The 2nd and 3rd were subsequently lost and British established themselves which was followed by the Uprising of 1857. Thus after a prolonged fight with the Marathas and with the Sikhs in Punjab the British firmly established themselves as the de-facto rulers of India. As mentioned above, the British were technologically superior to the Marathas..and hence they were at an advantage. (-By the way, just for your G.K, Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is considered today as the 'Father of the Indian Navy'AND apart from Jijabai-mother of Shivaji, the other 2 well known Women personalities emerging from the Maratha Confederacy were Devi AHILYABAI HOLKAR from Indore, Maharani Tarabai and RANI LAXMIBAI of Jhansi also known as Manikarnika. * "Lahore, Multan, Kashmir and other subahs on this side of Attock are under our rule for the most part, and places which have not come under our rule we shall soon bring under us. 'Namard' Ahmad Shah Durrani's son Timur Shah Durrani and Jahan Khan have been pursued by our troops, and their troops completely looted. Both of them have now reached Peshawar with a few broken troops . . . So Ahmad Shah Durrani has returned to Kandahar with some 12-14 thousand broken troops.. Thus all have risen against Ahmad who has lost control over the region. We have decided to extend our rule up to Kandahar." - Raghunathrao's letter to the Maratha Peshwa, 4 May 1758. ---------------- "To the Jats,Gujars,Ahirs and the Jats of 18 khaps or pads (thambas) or the heads of thoks and panchayats, I send my regards. For the defence of religion it is the duty of every hindu to help me in defending the 'country'. Everyone will have to fight for the defence of the country against the coming invasion. From the ninth century the apostates have made this country their stronghold and are ruling over it. There will be no better oppurtunity than this to drive them out. The servant of the hindu religion. - Sadashivrao BHAU, October 1760" - Sadashivrao Bhau's letter to the Jats and other North Indian rulers.

Well but there are other things also you should explain. Why Marathas need to depend on Europeans (France, Portuguese etc) for Cannons? Why Maratha couldn't create system so that we can manufacture our own cannons instead of importing. If we didn't get cannons from Europe, was it possible to win against Mughals? Even Mughals had their own cannon making artisans, we didn't. So you should highlight the structural flaws also.
@parthasarathimishra7538
@parthasarathimishra7538 2 года назад
@@chat.choosey So you agree that we had structural flaws? . We should always explain enemies as cruel and unethical and show no mercy. So cruelty is out of the point of argument. . No Hindu king tried to create better democratic system. We never had democracy in large scale and nepotism was too much. We has enough wealth, but large portions of them were utilized in building tall structures. [I am NOT against building structures]. Had if 30% of those were utilized in military, then we would had comparatively better weapons. . Egypt had better science and technology compared to Rome and Greece. Their pyramids still stand tall. But they spend most of their wealth in building graves for Pharaohs, whereas Romans and Greeks spends huge wealth in military and state administration. Egypt was ruled by "tall leaders" called Pharaohs, who were "sons of Sun God Ra" They had absolute command over everything. No citizens' empowerment. Egypt lost to Greece. . It doesn't stop there. When Alexander attacked India, he had far superior weapons then us. Greece had excellent democracy with provision for recall election and Jury trials in public. And it was in 326BCE. And Marathas were very recent. Still in 2000 years, we never learned the importance of administrative structure and weapons, against ethics. . When Raja Hemachandra dies, the entire army collapsed. No alternate was enthroned immediately. When Humayun dies, Akbar was immediately enthroned. System plays a very important role in survival and power. Why couldn't Hemachandra made a common hierarchy below him, which can operate without his presence and can create new apex in case of his death? What made Mughals capable of learning cannon manufacturing technology? There was no cannons in India before Mughals. . Same as why we lost to British. Better weapons and administrative system. British empire were first to enact voting booth system in their election system, so that whole country population need no gather at a single place. They can go to their nearest voting booth and all the booths votes can be calculated. So due to this approach democracy started resurrecting around 1200 AD. . We never learned from history. In any Hindivaadi channel, the following two points are completely ignored: 1. What state structure did the enemy land had. 2. What weapons did enemy military had. . All other points are less important. . Hence the video is useless even for contemporary problem. Today also we have same situation.
@parthasarathimishra7538
@parthasarathimishra7538 2 года назад
@Sumedh Deshmukh So the root cause was lack of electoral democratic system and nepotism, which Greece realized long back. This is what I am alluding to. Whenever nation A defeats nation B, we should study what military advantages A had which B didn't and why, and also what is the state structure of A. The state structures and their importance are totally missing in most discussions.
@parthasarathimishra7538
@parthasarathimishra7538 2 года назад
@Sumedh Deshmukh I repeat: "Whenever nation A defeats nation B, we should study what military advantages A had which B didn't and why, and also what is the state structure of A" . Maratha never created election system and jury trials in court. Compare that with court of Athens where citizens took active participation in conviction. When Socrates was executed, it was decided by 500 citizens who were member of jury. . Shivaji depended on cannons given by Portuguese and also some by French. That's why when Shivaji looted Surat several times, he never looted Portuguese traders in Surat, and looted only Moguls and other traders. And again, Portuguese got most of the technology from UK weapon manufacturing elitemen. . So question remains same, what made Greece and British so powerful, even through our culture was much richer? The answer which I find is good democratic system. British raised after coroner's jury system and voting booth system. A 300 year country USA can have the strongest military, then its only due to good democratic procedures. . Monarchism has its own limitation when population grows. Citizens' empowerment were not part of administrative system in India. We neve had democracy in large scale. . Today also situation is similar. Most weapons are imported. We don't even manufacture 16-bit controllers locally. And people don't realize the danger of kill switch in imported technologies. We are 10,000+ years old civilization, but still needs to depend on West. So there is no excuse for administrative system. . So I respect Maratha like anything for their commitment and bravery. But at the same time I believe they (also others) overlooked the importance of democracy. I commented from a different and bigger perspective. I now most people will take me in a wrong way. . This is going long. I can speak all day, but have limited time. So if you are truly interested in present system change to make our nation powerful, then please communicate with me: facebook.com/partha4084/ . We can discuss much systematically. . Thanks.

In India, all people other than Hindu, are converted from Hinduism to other beliefs and once a person gets converted to another religion then he is threat for Country . Same has been proved in 1947, 1989. They wiped out others faith people just like Afganistan, West Punjab, Sindh Kashmir, Bengal. But In other part of India nobody wiped out local non-Hindu community. This is difference between Hindu and Non-Hindu. Once Non-Hindu becomes majority they wipes out others religion's people.
