This is good video. The thing that makes Indian factions different is cavalry variety and the ability to scare cav with camels and elephants. The problem, elephants and camels are big targets to skirmishers and cannon. Your general can not move so well as an elephant. So he has to be away from the action unless a player can micro well and knows when to put elephants in and out of combat. Luckily in empire there are no fire arrows to scare them. The trade off though is once the general dies in eastern factions, most of the time the entire army routes (depending on mods or the vanilla game settings).
Lol no what makes them different is they don't need technology to have good units like; Afghan/kurdish hillsmen (55 accuracy 80 men to put in perspective they can deal up to 40 casualties in one volley), heavy cavalry rajput zamindar(cavalry guard stats prolly best melee cav) sihk swordsmen(the best melee infantry)and to top it off they get them in unlimited numbers so it's ideal faction to push for enlightenment and industry tech instead. In short a rapidly expanding empire with enough money to field as many as 12 full stacks at 1730s. Simplicity isn't weakness if anything Maratha is out of the world strong.
Wow that is opposite from most. Most probably only play Great Britain lol. Honestly I love the diversity of the different nations it’s fun for me to play all
They are super strong early on then fire by rank happens then the campaign gets difficult as fudge but given they're super good early on Ai can't really beat an economy that had taken off plus trade nodes since you wrap up faster than any European nation you kinda by default take over all trade nodes.
Even as a Marathi person I ask why they made Sikh units but didn't make a Sikh empire even though they were one of the major players at the time. The fact that they just blend them into the Maratha troop tree is a very narrow depiction of real circumstances.
Thank you. I'm playing with this nation and I'm finishing, but I've noticed that the game slows down a lot the further I'm in the game (no matter what nation), especially between turns, and now, after clicking on my own army, the game stands for a few minutes. I have new equipment for the game, the settings are on ultra, which even if I set it to a minimum do not solve the problem. The same thing often happened during sieges. How to solve this problem? Thank you.
Usually this is caused by all the single units the ottoman army has. It can cause a crash. Stick a fleet near Constanopol sorry spelling. This will stop them trying to cross which can cause a crash
Arent the musket troops very good? I mean i dont know how much you can recruit of them, but their precision and melee seems to make up for their disability to fire by rank.
How to deal with their melee? , their number is overwhelming. I think regular line infantry with bayonet is good at defence, but are there more efective way? Sorry for my bad english tho
I find the best way to deal with their melee is stacking your defense. When they hit the first layer volley one to two ranks then roll behind the next set of lines. When the second layer volleys let them square up and then your 3rd layer can volley into them while they hit your square and yes you will have some friendly fire. If they push with elephant target the elephants first. Light dragoon’s are ideal against Maratha and Mughal.
@@FaramirsRangers Or use overpowered artillery like howitzers, canons and etc. having grenades is ideal since they have terrible shooting or none at all.
Very powerful Nation because unreliant to millitary tech you kinda forced to focus on navy enlightenment and industry. Which creates such a snowball effect completely plausible to conquer the whole map before 1740 just because of sheer economic strength. Almost advisable to land in Europe Asap and make protectorates of minor Nations just to keep trade partners as you destroy every major nation even before they have fire by rank.
anybody else experienced the glitch where fixed arty in a reinforcing army ends up switching unit size with infantry or cav after a battle? i've never seen it discussed anywhere else so i assume it's a steam/mac version thing. in a small unit WC challenge, let me tell you. OP af. if you use it to get 40 men per fixed arty unit. esp the larger end game arty.
I think what they were going for was units that would not have supply from the army like the regulars. Amazons thankfully only have 5 because they can be quite a pain in the ass. Lucky for us I think their husbands didn't let them have the credit card to get more.
I have an issue, every time I become an American power as UK, France or Spain, they India always declare war on me, why?!!, I try every difficult and still declare war on me, they hate me
many of my playthroughs have seen the marathras invade and take over mexico and the rest of the more southern provinces in the americas. just a quirk of the AI when based in india?
when i play UK in a first turn i like to take all my units in europe and ship them to mysore to make headbeach and slowly conquer them otherwise they are pain in late game
@@FaramirsRangers Yeah, I always felt delusioned with these total wars games when it comnes to certains aspects like this one. the games are amazing, but I always wanted to see units like the indian missile units or like in the shogun games, I would have loved to see those japanese machine gun like giant crossbow units they had.
