@kickmeout1 Its quite a difficult art to appreciate for many people. But for animators and actors, we are impressed by amount of control of body movement and language that he has. I think we're all spoilt by too much modern entertainment to fully appreciate these subtle things~
Saw him do this @ The Music Hall in Portsmouth, NH in 1998. Leaves you speechless.😯 Merci !❤ A few years later his long time road manager was a guest @ our B&B in York.....strictly coincidental.
I didn't count the introduction and applause, so it's less than 3.5 minutes. :) I find it so powerful partly because it tells about life in such a short duration.
@Jacey/kickmeout1: I think it might be more about the (poor) quality of the recording which is not that clear. I myself is not an artistic person but when I saw this live (many years later than this recording), I was really stunned by how he captured different phases of life with all its feelings, e.g. the brightness and confidence of youth and the fragility and hopelessness of old age, all by just walking on the same spot for 3 minutes. Anyhow, I'm very glad that you like it, Jacey!
If I hadn't known what the theme was or introduction, I might have been confused as to the highly praised reaction from the audience. However, it's the relatable metaphor that makes it so artful, precious, and unique in it's inventiveness.
I feel like i cant properly appreciate this because ive never attempted something similar. Im not an actor or a mime. I am a musician though so i feel like i have a good sense of what is "good" art but i just cant understand this
Bom demais ksks
Interesting. I watched the whole thing. I could see why a lot of young people now wouldn't understand this because of cultural differences and time. The shadows on him durning 2:20 started to get a little out there xD
