You're misunderstanding. Process the emotion, feel it, understand it and then let go. Do not dwell in the emotion.

@@chidera02 To feel is not a necessity to understand or move forward in life after such events. Feeling are a just extra baggage that take up space ... like the recycling of old newpapers that never move to the next process. It brings up only raw emotions with no direction that lead to no deeper understand. Feelings over time can rewrite the narrative until it no longer matches with the event. The mind is tricky in that way. It is possible to understand and process to completion such event then move to total acceptance (which is where complete healing abides)... I beleive acceptance is the key to the doorway of healing... Once we accept the event as no longer an offense on Ones self the healing can begin and forgiveness truly genie. Humanity it self is raw with emotions that are often misguided full of passion and rage. If read the basic instruction before leaving earth (B.I.B.L.E)... we would understand that its never about us but others or what happens to us... its our service to others in the end that matters more... We look through our own eyes as not victims but either teachers or students on any given day. We can help each other if we are honest with our own short coming and not become so self-righteous that when others offensed us... we are see our own true self or short coming that we struggle with or by grace have been given the time to over come. I say understand ones self as a two side coin one side as the impostors greedy selfish ego centered individual and the other we hope to be all the oppositeside of the above... Before WE judge others harshly we must remember more times than none we are seeing our own shadow of darkness in others. So each day I try to show up as better self than even seconds ago... lead with actions of kindness intentions to forgive not so easily offended and willingness to love all unconditional .

Aurelius was known to mourn over loss. Even when the public deemed it unroman like for a king. Also dealing with war and plague. He suffered loss but still had to be strong and just leader and not fall to any form of corruption even when facing moments of despair.

Agreed. Emotional is a sense of self not unlike hunger. It is not weakness to experience hunger. But it is weakness to allow hunger to overpower composure.

I think Adam's statement is more in context with the idea that we should not be driven by our anger and give into despair that traffic accidents happen, and that we witness or be a part of one. When the accident happens your anger and emotions like compassion for the victims, fear for you and your passengers safety as victims, and determination for health and survival will keep you and others safe. Your anger is a tool, that is also a weapon, it is meant to be used, and then sheathed. You are right to not trust that anyone should disarm you.

Yes her views are quite different, particularly when it comes to altruism. However, the quote is relevant and I like to credit where it originates from. Nothing more.

H1Z1 Logic if you actually knew anything about the book, Marcus Aurelius, or “Meditations” than you would know that it was his journal. If you read the book than you would know they are just journaling. It has no formal book format. Getting educated on a subject before speaking on it will save you much embarrassment and humiliation in the future.
