About 5 weeks to my first Carnival cruise on Mardi Gras. I dont like Carnivals older ships but feel like I will enjoy the XL class. There are certainly a lot of food options onboard but I did wonder about the quality compared to other cruise lines. Big Chicken and Guys Burgers seem to get good reviews everywhere, Pig and Anchor is mixed reviews. Main dining never looks good in pictures but we will give it a try.
My friend and I are from Texas and we enjoy going to the best BBQ places in the state. Just one look at Guy's Pig & Anchor and it's easy to tell that BBQ is nothing special. I've heard mixed reviews about ChiBang, but I think you talked me into trying it. Emeril's is a definite for me and we'll probably do the Sushi place as well. I'm looking forward to my trip on Jubilee.
Thank you for your honest opinion on all of the restaurants and food available I will be on the Mardi Gras with the wife in may of 2022 7day cruise I’m going to try my best to try most of these eatery’s thanks again
I love your recommendation for booking back-to-back cruises on Mardi Gras to experience everything it offers. I was thinking the exact same for my honeymoon! I was hoping to find a 14-day cruise but currently, Mardia Gras only offers the 7-8 as the max so back-to-back cruises seems like the way to go! Loved your reviews of everything, thanks for sharing!
Had same problem with cold food at Blue Iguana Cantina. Decided to try the breakfast burrito that everyone raves about. Flavor was fantastic, unfortunately it was lukewarm to cold which did not work for me. Tacos were fine. Great Review, Thank You.
I sailed on Mardi Gras in October 2021 and agree with your review. The only place I differ is with the Steakhouse. We had terrible service and only so-so food. Loved Chi-Bang, Rudy’s, Shaq’s, Street Eats and Guy’s.
Great food reviews. We have watched your youtube videos a few times now and take away something new every time. We are super excited to sail in a few months.
We sail on the Mardi Gras at the near end of March! You video has me so excited about the food! My husband is adventurous and I'm like your wife...just a bit pickier! Great video!
I'm traveling on the Mardi Gras this Saturday for 7 days. As a first time cruiser I'm so excited to hop aboard and this video definitely helped on which places to check out. Thank you so much for the video!
Hello everybody from Ohio, great video and great review. Keep them coming. We're planning going on a cruise ship in a couple of years. We're gonna go probably Carnival Cruise Line.
Sailing Mardi Gras January 29th for a 7-day and this was the BEST Video I have reviewed!!! You were detailed with free, upcharge and flavor - just what I have been wondering. Can't wait now to try as much as I can, thanks to your video. and may not get off at the cruise ports! I have subscribed to find out more. Thank You So Very Much
I'm getting ready to go on Marti Gras at the end of the month. I don't think we will get to see it all. I'm looking forward to it. I hope I do not get sea sick, I get sea sick on every cruise at least once or twice. Never been on Carnival. Thank you for being helpful. Every reviewer says that that little chicken place is the best. I think it best to get with my sail buddies and map out where we are going to eat for the first couple of days. I think we are sticking to the main dining room at night. But that could change. I'm not spending lots of money on something that is included in the price. I think it is all going to be pretty good.
Thank you for being so thorough! My husband and I often travel alone, we have no children, and found this review to be incredibly relatable! We are sailing on the Mardi Gras in 2 weeks and are looking forward to trying these venues for ourselves!
Thank you so much for this video. We are cruising February 12 and we were most excited for Pig and Anchor (we are Canadian though so may not be as disappointing for us). But now I am more excited for Chibang and Teppanyaki. thank you so much
I am so freaking hungry after watching these reviews. We are going in March and now I'm frustrated because I don't know where to go because it sounds like there are just too many good places. I don't want to miss out on anything but there is a finite amount of food that I'm able to consume LOL
Carnival's website shows that Guy's smokehouse & Cucina Del Capitano IS an additional cost, just not at lunch like all the other ships. Are you saying it is free at dinner as well?
We, my wife and I totally agree with you. We were on this ship back in Sept., of 21, and are going on a "Back to back" soon. We were also agreeing with what you had to say about the various food venues on board, and are looking forward to trying a few more that we missed last time. But we are also going back to Chabang a few more times. But you are 100% correct about this ship and the food available.
This is a great video thank you. Fantastic job with the food photography you have a talent. I have a 7 day on the Mardi Gras in February and you managed to make my food choices more difficult. Sushi and Tapenyaki we're not even on my radar before. How am I gonna fit it all in?
Craig. Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video. It is tough to fit it all in. I will definitely plan 2 nights at ChiBang! They are open for lunch too, but not as extensive of a menu.
Our favorites were Emeril's, Bonsai Teppanyaki, Steak House, and Rudi's. The MDR did not impress us at all. Shaqs Big Chicken was outstanding but Pig and Anchor was a let down, small portions and too smokey tasting, no meat flavor, it all tasted alike. Desserts were wonderful all over the ship and the Prime Rib and Baked Ham on the buffet were delicious as was the Gelato. I loved the Coffee flavor!
I’m a Texan as well and I’ve never been super impressed with Pig and Anchor. I’ve been on numerous cruises and many with carnival, but I suppose It’s just the nature of where I’m from.
Well done, very well done! My wife and I cruised on the Mardi Gras 10/31 for a 7 day and agree that 7 days just isn't enough. We are booked again for May 2022 and looking forward to it! I loved your reviews along with the pictorials and couldn't agree more, at least for the places we have tried along with you. I just went on and made a dinner reservation for Bonsai (which happens to be on my b'day). I was wondering if you and your wife have tried Chefs Table? We have done a couple and found the Mardi Gras to be the best one yet. Thanks for posting and you have a new Subscriber in me, will be checking you often, thanks again!!
What are you talking about!., utensils that have been touched by three thousand people is not appealing to you? You make absolutely no sense saying that.
We’re going end of this month; we can’t wait! Thanks very much for your input on the food menu! Now I have to figure out how to go reserve for restaurants?
