Great video. Marduk is definitely one of my favorite bands ever, I wasn't that into black metal until I heard them. Ofc I started with Legion era but currently Mortuus is my favorite vocalist for the band. Plague Angel is probably my favorite album, but the thing is they have had more than one style, so it's hard to just pick one album. If we talk about straight up brutality for me it'd be "Plague Angel", their faster album. In terms of "evilness", easily "Heaven Shall Burn..." like, just listen those melodies and "Darkness It Shall Be". In terms of "epicity" (I don't even know how to name it lmao) it'd be Panzer Division, but in terms of "dark epicity" it'd be "Nightwing" for me. The easiest ones to get into Marduk, "Frontschwein" and "World Funeral". And even the albums that don't necessarily stand out for me are great and loved by different people. That's why for me they're one of the best metal bands, not to mention they're fucking great live.

My personal fave is Opus Nocturne - it's funny, because when I was first getting into black metal, death metal etc I was kind of indifferent to early Marduk. Didn't think it was bad or anything but nothing stood out, I guess I needed more experience with the genre to appreciate certain things, musical aspects; structure, atmosphere... all the more fun stuff to chat shit about with your mates when 7 pints in down the local haha but yeah a few years later I ended up giving it another listen and felt blown away it was mad. "Autumnal Reaper" is my personal fave track off that album cos' it's the one that really made me a huge fan of early Marduk. "Those of the Unlight" is also a smashing album. Love it. I really enjoyed this vid and your comments, cheers : )

Heaven shall burn and dark endless stand out the most for me, there's not really any bad albums, but, those two are my faves for completely different reasons.

Plague angel is my favorite, I really like the song throne of rats.

I love the doom metal feeling in the "La Grande Danse Macabre" that is why is one of my favorites. After that album Marduk started to bring more of that in others albums like "Rom 5:12" which is feels like Danse Macabre part 2, while "Frontschwein" is like Panzer Division Marduk part 2. Still I give you a like, lol after all Im agree with most what you said, lol.

Im a little split on this list, its a good one but I'd shake it up just a bit, namely with Viktoria moving up a spot or two, its grown on me. My favourite is a toss up between Panzer Division and Frontschwein. People know the good songs from Frontschwein but never talk about 503 and Doomsday Elite, like fuck me those two songs are perfection. Panzer Division just kicks your head in and when you're in that mood it scrstcges the itch like nothing else

I havn't listend to any Marduk albums since Legion left the band, nothing against Mortuus as a vocalist but I just happend to fall of about there. I'll get caught up some day. Those of The Unlight is my number 1 and Panzer Division Marduk number 2. I saw them open for Danzig in Sweden 2004 maybe, frantic performance! "Heaven Shall Burn When We Are Gatherd" is taken from the lyrics of a Bathory song, so it is a homage I suppose.

I've been into Marduk since La Grande Danse Macabre came out so that would be high on my list. Wormwood and Rom 5 : 12 are my favorites with Mortuus singing. I remember Mortuus way back when he was in triumphator going under the name Arioch. Also in Funeral Mist. I also had a project name Funeral Mist. He beat me to it lol. My favorite Marduk album would have to be Those Of The Unlight. Dark Endless probably a close 2nd. Opus Nocturne very good too.

Hello ! I love your channel but I think you are wrong with Victoria. It isnt a bad album. La dance is the worst. By the way iam from Söderköping/Norrköping were Marduk was born.

My FAVORITE is Viktoria, funny enough. every song is memorable but June 44, Equestrian Bloodlust, silent night, and Narva are all amazing. My second favorite is Dark Endless. I pronounce Marduk as “Marr-duke”

Good video for the most part, with one big exception. Marduk is one of my favorite bands, but Panzer Division Marduk is massively overrated. It's nothing but intensity with not much substance, they do it SO much better with Plague Angel, Nightwing and Frontschwein, even Viktoria. PDM is literally the reason people invented the otherwise shitty term norsecore. Fuck Panzer Division Marduk. My ranking: 1) Those of the Unlight ; 10/10 BM Classic 2) Nightwing ; 10/10, pinnacle of that massive, intense Marduk sound. 3) Opus Nocturne ; 10/10, their most melodic indeed, a masterpiece 4) Rom 5:12 ; 9.5/10; their slower masterpiece, I love it. Pure atmosphere on this one. 5) Plague Angel; 9.5/10; the real alternative to Panzer Division, it does the war music much, much better. 6) Heaven Shall Burn; 9/10; a prototype for the Nightwing sound, epic and intense as fuck. 7) Dark Endless; 8.5/10; very underrated death metal with a dark atmospheric sound. 8) Frontschwein; 8.5/10; probably the best modern (after 2010) Marduk album. 9) Wormwood; 8.5/10; a classic, slower, good backup to Rom 5:12. 10) World Funeral; 8.5/10; an underrated classic 11) Serpent Sermon; 8/10, Similar to Wormwood, works well. 12) Viktoria; 8/10; love it too, great continuation of the WWII sound and theme. 13) La Grande Danse Macabre; 7/10. Sounds a bit tired, not their best slower album. 14) Panzer Division Marduk; 5.5/10. Overrated as all hell.

I love the albums Mortuus sang on. Plague Angel, Wormwood, Serpent Sermon, Rom 5:12, Frontschwein, and Viktoria. Legion was a good vocalist, but not as good as Mortuus. Panzer Division Marduk is their best album. I pronounce Marduk as "marrduke".

Pretty much like my list, but i prefer Opus Nocturne over Panzer Division Marduk. Fun fact: the riff of Nightwing title track is based (or is a rip off?) on the music theme of the b-movie horror Subspecies.

Frontschwein is the best record in my opinion along with panzer division marduk both 10/10 and them opus nocturnus is next. Always showing your good taste, good ranking 👌 .

Ive only heard their 90s stuff and like 2 of their stuff post 1999 but i'd rank them this way best to worst. 1. Heaven Shall Burn... When We Are Gathered (This is the best of both worlds of "norsecore" marduk and early 90s marduk) 2. Opus Nocturne (I wont even bother explaining why it's so good, we've heard it all before) 3. Those of the Unlight (Really melodic and i absolutely adore Echoes from the Past and Wolves) 4. Nightwing (I had a hard time with putting this or world funeral first, this one slightly edges over but i need to hear it more) 5. World Funeral (This one is always a blast, haha ba-dum-tss, it gets a bit boring though with there being so many tracks, but the mid tempo moody tracks really help in that regard) 6. Frontschwein (Awesome) 7. Panzer Division Marduk (Meh) 8. Dark Endless (Meh)

Never understood why people say Panzer Division is boring and repetitive. It's a f*cking half hour slab of no thrills black metal mate, does everything need to be fancy? Everything has to be DsO or Thantifaxath now does it? Does exactly what it says on the tin. A working pair of ears would suggest it's not particularly samey riffs either. Absolute classic of straight forward, high tempo BM with a more modern production style. I'd also put some of the classics up there, Opus, Those of the Unlight, Heaven Shall Burn..great.
