You don't get to this incredible level of drumming without knowing the basics like the back of your hand. He's not simply hitting shit fast. His playing is dynamic, he emphasizes the downbeat, his technique is perfect. Shitty drummers could never pull this intense drumming off. Just to keep in time at that speed is a huge human achievement in my eyes.
Nils definitely leans in when he plays. Total balls power of satan. This guy is more relaxed. I play this way, but to each their own. No way is better than the other as long as the job gets done.
Yeah, a black metal counterpar of a speedrun in video games. Run like hell, just get to the end. No mistakes though. At this level of skill he does not look like a try-hard.
Υes but NOT as fast as they became after Plague Angel. And it feels that with Fredrik Widigs they got slaightly lower tempo than they had with Broddesson or Dragutinovic
@@poseidonas6113 that's correct. "Panzer Division Marduk" was based on blastbeats for 95% of its running time, but these weren't as fiercely fast as they started to be from "Plague Angel" onwards. "Panzer Division Marduk" consists only of blastbeats but the tempo does not exceed 200 bpm's at any time, which is not that much, at least compared to what they do now. This live rendition is way faster than the original.
takatakatakatakatakatakatakataktakataktakatakatakturrrumptakatakatakatakatakatakatakatakatakatakaturrrrumpyurrrumppptakatakatakatakk....LIKE A MACHINE GUN!!!
Lars Broddsson is one of those few drummers who is still able to play music at these speeds. Listen to the details, how he is following the riffs of the song. The drummers job is to make the band and the music better. He is good at it.
This was my 200th time watching this video. All over the years I am amazed that this guy can play drums so chill out and too fast. Blast beat on his best.
i am Always amazed when I see this kind of drumming. It is not my kind of drumming and it is not something I want to learn to play, but hell i can not have anything but respect for these drummers. Being able to play an entire set at those speeds is mind bogling.
Amazing and inspiring performance. The people who were at this gig are lucky, the whole band is on top of their game (even if we don't see them in this video).
@@gianlucamai No, I'm not really sure what he's up to these days. I do know that he played drums for the band The Ascendant, but they haven't released anything aside from one EP back in 2012.
you dont seem to have a clue what you talking about. im a drummer myself and believe me this is some awesome drumming. marduk are legends within the black metal genre and they are known for having fast blast beats on many of their tracks. its their thing. hes in rythm and he keeps the speed thru the whole song. if you dont like the music thats fine, but this is not shitty music just because you dont like it.
