Never a dull moment here...
First on the agenda is figuring out a way around Margie and her refusal of the trim chute.
I got creative.
The new seeding is at perfect maturity and we need to get it cut... but we hit a bit of a snag.
Finally got my wool ready to be shipped off to the scouring plant, which we got a bit of a tour of!

❤ just an fyi you're awesome Mrs. Brock. People who don't understand you are a working farm. Selling babies is a part. It's unrealistic for your followers to believe you can keep or re-home your babies. The ones you sell help feed the others; along with allowing them access to vet care and help maintain the retirement home for the golden girls. You do an awesome job. Keep it up. Thanks for being here

Then they go home and have lamb chops for dinner and don’t stop to think of where it comes from. Humans need to eat meat or other high protein and iron. This is simply a reality of being human. Treating livestock with love and respect should be the standard for all livestock farming. For me, each time I sit down to eat a meal which has animal sourced ingredients I always take a few moments to think of what was sacrificed for me and to thank the animal. I know that they didn’t get a say in their end and that’s why I thank them.

It’s amusing to think people believe there’s such a market for pet lambs. (I know a lot of them think Sandi is selling the lambs to people who then keep them for fiber, but… these aren’t fiber sheep, and Sandi has spent a lot of time explaining how hard it is to get enough wool together for anyone to wash, let alone spin, it.)

was curious, thought some might be too - Armyworms are moth caterpillars that vary in color (gray or green) with a distinct yellow, white, and brown stripe along the body. The adult is a yellow-brown moth. Moths emerge in the spring months and lay eggs on wheat or barley. Larvae developing from these eggs then feed on wheat from May into the summer.

No need to be sheared, and the farm drives their market lambs to Pennsylvania for private sale to Arabic communities that butcher and package their own lamb. It’s a very lucrative business atm. I’m in MA and regret it every time I look at the weather for the coming week. I’m supposed to have a two hour appointment on Weds that has me out of the house from 10am to 2pm (travel time plus the appointment) and I think I’m rescheduling, largely because that puts me in the sun when it’s 100+ degrees, and I’m pretty sure I’ll spontaneously combust. 😂

Love the drone footage of cutting the oats, so pretty! I think of you guys every time severe weather is forecast in Southern Ontario, we’ve had some crazy rain storms here in Eastern Ontario. So funny seeing the golden girls looking dazed and confused when you took them back to the retirement village! Never a dull moment at the Brock farm!💕🇨🇦

The golden girls look marvelous. What a perfect life they live. Always informative and fun to watch your videos. The drone footage, gorgeous, even if it was too wet for what you wanted to do. Mark - be good and take care of that ankle. It would only take stepping on a small rock to twist your ankle.

The coyotes come out to clean up the dead mice and rats left in the field after harvesting. The Night Crew has a whole episode on coyote hunting in a field after cutting. It's a buffet.

Oh wow! I love seeing the ladies and gents getting ready for their Romantic Staycation. LOL I also love when you get drone videos/pics on the farm! My exhubby had hundreds acre land and I Loved mowing with the tractors. The land was leased to a man with cattle and he was happy when I mowed. Better grass meand more cows per acre. I love you and your posts Sandi. Thank you for sharing. ❤😊

Loved seeing the little clip of the wool being processed and would love to see a video of the whole process from shearing to the final result of a lovely wool garment. How educational for folks to see that process. You are all such knowledgeable hard workers...thank you for sharing your life style and providing us with food, clothing and comfort.

Crops looking really good this year - if it’s good for the farmers, it’s good for all of us! ❤ love this time of year when the pastures are so green and lush. 🐑

Coyotes live it when you cut the fields because of the little critters it makes available for them. It’s all part of the food chain.

Sorry I’m late seeing your video today hun but wanted to wish Mark a “Happy Fathers Day”. Idk if y’all celebrate up there on todays date but it here here in USA. I have learned so much from your videos and while much is the same for our farms it’s so interesting to learn such similarities. Your crop is looking beautiful and I am PROUD of you guys! I will ALWAYS cherish the wool I have bought from your ewes. Can not wait to purchase again!!! Thank you again for being you. You DO make such a difference. I appreciate your family and I’m sending love & hugs from our home to yours. 🥰🏡🥰
