HELL YEAH this series is everything, so glad it's back! it hugely changed my outlook on fashion and got me very interested in margiela, which somehow really helped me to deal with my depressive episode a month ago. Thank you so much Bliss!

I'm writing an academic paper about the concept of replica in Margiela through the lens of Walter Benjamin's The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction. The notion of replica by itself cements Margiela as *the most* avant-garde designer of all time (ignoring the misuse of the term in the context of fashion) I'mma watch this a few times. Great stuff, fam!

Three things - The method of this show? I love it, it makes the most sense for selling to the public - The Replica line? Something I'm trying to do for myself, mostly because I can't afford original vintage and antique in the eras I like - the Doll Clothes line? Some costubers do it, but I've thought of it as well, but not quite to the extreme of Margiela

I'm such a huge fan of the Replica concept. If you go back and look at the catalog of releases it acts like a primer for how to build a killer men's vintage wardrobe. He literally tells you where and what it was. Wish there was some Replica for women tho...

Surprised to see no mention of the Replica German Army Trainers, which while obviously not made in 1994 it feels like they should have got a shout out as the most popular of the replica line, at least in present day. The only other replica line item I really know about is a pair of denim tuxedo trousers. (I think I saw them on Grailed, can't remember) but I wasn't sure if at the time they were a replica, or if the replica line was making modifications such as taking a classic menswear piece in Tux trousers and then mixing them with a totally different style/fabric/formality in the denim. But I assume now having watched the video that the house had found Denim Tuxedo Pants and thought I have to recreate these, which is amazing.

Do we know why the artisanal line is numbered zero? Could it be a link to the philosophy of the ‘Zero’ movement? There seems to be at least some overlap in terms of a focus on exploring and experimenting with different materials. For instance, using the body as a canvas was done by both Margiela and zero-inspired artists. I could also see a link between something like the Margiela hospital bracelet and the use of things like crates filled with empty bottles or plastic bags filled with water, which were used by Zero artists to create installations.

ohmygod!...did you just make last minute call for rimming!?! fabulous! anyhow...i believe hiedi like bunches of designers are under the gun to produce. and they are publicly traded companies (right) and that makes for a these ateliers even more under the gun - what is going to happen the Dries Van Noten. One big consequence is how designers like hedi are diluting the brand - ysl not dior tool much. after some time the buyers will lose interest, as the audience. it has happened and will again- gucc -i then and no. oh well this is totally tldr
