Right? Original 'and' good! I can't stand to see some videos where people say "oh, woman comedian not funny as usual" It's so dismissive and obviously, they don't quite get her. I didn't at first either. But she's got a special on Netflix that's new I think, I plan on watching it asap.

To my understanding Bamford is hugely popular among other comedians - what's sometimes called a "comedian's comedian" iirc. The reason she isn't more popular among people in general is that much of her stuff simply goes over their heads. That's how brilliant she is.

same I discovered her like a year ago, actually saw little things of her as far as 2-3 years ago but now im soo into her, heard her stuff on spotify on repeat like crazy, its almost as if imagining her delivery is even better than watching the performance because you can imagine the weird stuff going on even better

I love her so much. She recently did a set on what was it? it was close to October 27th 2016 late night. She wasn't herself at all. I hope she gets stable. She is such a creative mind which is a double edged sword. love her.

It annoys me that people seem to be incapable of saying “favorite comedian,” they always have to preface it by saying “favorite female comedian.” It’s like saying someone is good at something “for a girl.” It’s degrading.

Tori Lynn Eh, not rly. They have male comedians they like better, so instead of sitting down, drawing out a list, and saying “Maria is my 17th favorite comedian”, they make it easy and just say “favorite female comedian”. Besides, imo, “favorite female comedian” sounds loads more complimentary than “17th favorite comedian”.

Tori Lynn I suppose, but “the most favorite” may just sound more impressive and complimentary to some, whether it’s overall or from a certain demographic. Suppose it just depends on personal preference

Kolp Lako Kolp Lako I feel like you’re reaching haha no one would say “my favorite white comedian,” even if your other favorites are black. It’s unnecessary. No one would take the time to comment that someone is “a mediocre comedian.” It’s not worth it. If she was 17th in line for favorite, there’d be no reason to comment. I’m not up in arms, I just think it’s belittling to categorize based off of gender. I’d feel the same if they had said “favorite male comedian.”

Benjamin Kham The average idiots that prefer vulgarity over comedy but think they are somehow synonymous. Also, A lot of people (mainly people from the coastal states if you catch my drift) think that being fucking disgusting is somehow being a "strong, independent" woman.
