Had this played at my wife's funeral service, she loved blondie, debby Harry was the only other woman for her, I'll continue to come back to this forever, I miss you Frances Jane Dunn 💔❤️💔
@@elzarbiman9657 Those people definitely don’t like classical music then; Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi’s beautiful music is a few hundred years old !! Staying power ⭐️
I'm 67 years old and I'm still listening to her music I've been a fan of blonde for all the years and still will keep listening to them Number one for a long time now
The greatest comeback song in the history of recorded sound. I cried like a baby when I first heard this absolute banger! Sheer gratitude, sheer ecstasy. Oh Debbie! Oh Clem! 👌
It‘s a beautiful thing what music can do to you; Blondie reforming and presenting this was a classic moment. Credit to Jimmy Destri, this went on to sell more copies than some of their 70s-80s hits
this is one of my wifes fav blondie songs, she passed on 24th nov 2022 i had this and union city blue played at her service. thankyou Debbie for the memories......the only woman to wear a black bag and still be awsome and hot asf.... love you Franky 🏳🌈
I cannot believe I only just discovered this. It might be one of the greatest pop songs ever written, the melody, the bridge, the chorus, Debbie's amazing vocals, I can't get it out of my head!
I remember that this song was in my collection way back in early 2000s in a cassette.. I had completely forgotten this gem.. I was watching Hits of 99, where I caught this songs glimpse and came here.. And all the lyrics automatically came to the lips even after 18 years.. 'Walking on Imported Air'. I can bet, Todays songs are not even 10% of this. This was Nirvana
Debbie and the band still kick ass decades on and will do for generations! My Nan, my Mum, myself and my Brother(and my niece since she was 5) all love them!!! Many many thanks and luv x
"Maria" debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart on February 7, 1999, giving Blondie their sixth UK number-one single and first chart-topper since "The Tide Is High" in November 1980."
I remember when this amazing banger came out, the best comeback in music history! blondie kicked ass and always will. I saw it on MTV when it was the greatest music channel on earth. And after many years when you listen to this you feel your soul travel back in time to those amazing years! Damn I really wish we could have a Time Machine! I miss the 90s so bad.
She moves like she don't care Smooth as silk, cool as air Ooh it makes you wanna cry She doesn't know your name And your heart beats like a subway train Ooh it makes you wanna die Ooh, don't you wanna take her? Ooh, wanna make her all your own? Maria, you've gotta see her Go insane and out of your mind Latina, Ave Maria A million and one candle lights I've seen this thing before In my best friend and the boy next door Fool for love and fool on fire Won't come in from the rain She's oceans running down the drain Blue as ice and desire Don't you wanna make her? Ooh, don't you wanna take her home? Maria, you've gotta see her Go insane and out of your mind Latina, Ave Maria A million and one candle lights Ooh, don't you wanna break her? Ooh, don't you wanna take her home? She walks like she don't care You wanna take her everywhere Ooh, it makes you wanna cry She's like a millionaire Walkin' on imported air Ooh, it makes you wanna die Maria, you've gotta see her Go insane and out of your mind Latina, Ave Maria A million and one candle lights Maria, you've gotta see her Go insane and out of your mind Latina, Ave Maria A million and one candle lights Maria, you've gotta see her Go insane and out of your mind Latina, Ave Maria A million and one candle lights Maria, you've gotta see her Go insane and out of your mind Latina, Ave Maria
Marcou minha vida!
Ms Harry is plainly a lady who's been there, done that, bought the T-shirt but won't wear it, given it up for a while, did it again with the benefit of experience, enjoyed the whole mess, and will never, ever talk about it. It's a joy to watch her. And she is a rare rock singer who tends to stand to the back during the solo to give the guitarist the stage. A true pro.
Debbie Harry.. The most incredible lady for over 40 years. Debbie Harry & Diana Ross no one else comes close to these two Lady's. The Greatest female recording artists ever. X
Can remember when Maria Sharapova won Wimbledon at 17 in '04 and the BBC used this in her highlights video. Gave me goosebumps then and now. Brilliant song and fit that moment perfectly.
Had the extraordinary good fortune of attending an ‘Up close and personal’ concert at the Sydney Opera House with Blondie, Deb sang this song not 10 feet away from me. My heart started missing beats, I had never experienced anything like this before and it still misses the odd beat every time I hear this song! 2:55
This song expresses the eternal chase after Maria, the virgin mother of God (note the church bell sounds after she sings "Maria"). Maria represents our longing for the mother, the lover and the inspiration, all in one. Now, of course this can never be found in one woman. So we will keep moving from one imagined Maria to the next, and never finding the real one....until, we find the eternal Maria within ourselves. In this way, the male will go from being a basic level playboy to an adventurer in the realm of the feminine, at which point every woman becomes a Maria in her own right.
The first time I saw this videoclip I was in the Planet Hollywood restaurant in Madrid, Spain. It was just opened by Sylvester Stallone. It was a very successful restaurant with TV screens all over the place. Loud music, very loud music, I loved that place.
Man. This is a “golden oldie” in the making. This song is so well made. Everything fits together. The fluent transition of the instruments. The end that fades out (gives you the idea the song continues forever). Awesome 😊
Wow, I'd somehow forgotten about this gem of a song. Hearing it for the 1st time again in over 20 years has blown my mind! Can't get it out of my head 😍
My dad loves Blondie and I didn't even know. The other day I put this song on in the car and he screamed every single lyrics. He told be he'd forgotten about this song and hadn't listen to it in ages and was happy I put it on
I've got a friend and former colleague named David who used to walk around with the Parallel Lines album in his hand like kids do now with their cell phone. It was a rare occasion to see him without it. If Debbie turned up at his door I think he would burst. Blondie have grown on me over the years, One of the best pop/soft rock bands ever, I love them.
What a great song, I love it! I put it into my "Shellshocked Radio - Recommendations" List: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4xkZlzF0O7g.html Very well done!
Oh my god i love this song it´s one of those songs that will played throughout every generation . The tune is amazing Im usually in my car singing along!
Deborah Harry is surely one of music legends of the last one hundred years. The band is also a great band and I love her songs and our lovely Blondi very much
"Deborah Harry is surely one of music legends of the last one hundred years." I'm not disagreeing with that, but as you specified such a long time-line I'd like to add another, from a completely different genre... Manuela Uhl. Amazing singer. Here singing Arnold Schoenberg's - Six Orchestral Songs, Op. 8. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-c4Mni8LzqcA.html Especially at the 3rd song 7:54. It's so beautiful... trust me. ;)
It's 2016 and I'm listening to this wonderful song,,,,,,Wish I could go back to past and live in that time,,,,,,life was so beautiful and simple,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
