Maria’s referenced book on her poker/learning experience is now available “The Biggest Bluff” and it is fantastic. This talk is a very nice complement to the book.

This is awesome!!! My first few years in an elementary school I saw how this works soooo well (especially with students that are not engaged). Thanks so much for this:)

"The biggest bluff" written Maria Konnikova. She wrote about Erik Seidel on his poker career and the concept of winning and loosing of playing poker as a pro. I being reading this book little over two weeks now ( I am a slow reader). What I have found in the book was the main ingredient I was missing for many many years how to be successful as a professional poker player want to be. In the book Erik did mention that a player need to put the cell phones away, pay attention to every players in the games, concentrating and learn their moves. But without this ingredient, you won't be successful. Just like you want to make a cake! You have the flowers, the vanilla ect. but the eggs were missing! I mean WOW!!! I am sure it was the reason I am unable to move up on the ladder! Sorry but I can’t share it with you because I want to keep it to myself. Very highly recommended book. It became New york Times best seller. Thank you Maria and Erik. You both just made my future poker career much better hope to be success. I hope one day I be able to sit and play against the man himself Erik Seidel at the final table of the World Series.

Only in heads up.. The most commonly played forms of poker aren't solved yet. Tournaments, 6-handed/9-handed cash games with antes. And it's very unlikely they will be solved any time soon, maybe in a decade if they can make computers with enough computing power to solve these very complex forms of the game.

She wants more female poker players, but there is more males watching this, by the comments. Oh yeah, notice her blouse is wrinkled at a public event. What does that mean?
