There is nothing I want more than to get a tattoo in your writing, Maria, of the words "growing pains" because that album and honestly your whole discography have helped me get through some really dark stuff that I've dealt with. It started off with an eating disorder that I am still in recovery from to this day, and along the way I've picked up PTSD, BPD, and depression diagnoses. I am 24 now and I have been listening to you since 2011 when I was in grade 10. I'm now doing my Masters in social work in Ontario, Canada and this tattoo would mean so much to me and really represents my struggle and my survival. I would get this tattoo under my self-harm scars on my thigh. Maria fans - help like this so Maria can notice me and hopefully meet this request

I found Maria's music in 2014 and immediately fell in love. Her songs about eating disorders, unhealthy relationships, an abusive past, completely valid emotions that weren't about love, and moving on and growing her own identity all resonated with me so much. "Growing pains" is a phrase we can all relate to. But when I searched for more music and found all her songs were from a long time ago, I thought she was gone for good. That I would have to keep re-listening to the same stories over and over and that I would never be able to see her heal and become more than her past. I hate endings, and this just made me even more sad. But seeing this is like a miracle. Yesterday I started re-listening to some of her songs, and I don't believe in fate but I feel like that was some odd coincidence. I'm so glad I got to see this today. It feels like the phoenix rising from the ashes that I needed.
