Here we fucking go! Her emancipation and public redemption! Not that she needed to redeem herself but to the ones that didn't appreciate her this was her big comeback. To the rest of us, it was a sigh of relief that the general public loved her again ❤
I remember during the height of “let’s all decide to hate Mariah bc Eminem and Tommy Mottola said so” Busta Rhymes was on 106&Park and 50Cent, who was hosting at the time, tried to make little slick remarks about Mariah. I’ll never forget the way Busta checked him live on air just by giving him a look like “ninja are you ok? say one more thing and I’m gonna embarrass you in front of company”. He got 50 all the way together, he straightened up real quick! 😂🙌🏾
she def boddied every singer like wtf are those vocals??? she was climaxing since the start of almost every song!!! like she was saying "Oh so yall think yall can sing? sing this!!!!!" you betta SANG MIMI!!!!
“Fly Like A Bird” is my go to song to lift me up whenever I am feeling down or need to connect with something higher. I just adore that song. This is definitely one of my favorite albums of hers. I also loved “Circles” and played it repeatedly.
I've been listening to Fly Like a Bird for the past 19 years and I still get the chills every single time. I've been bumping it in my car a lot lately and I can't get enough lol.
@@tyrelstewz4003 My top five goes: Butterfly(my favorite album ever) Daydream Charmbible Emancipation(comeback of the century) Debut(amazing debut album)
@@chriseanmantanona3759I am also VERY curious why you chose Charmbracelet! Any song recommendations , idk the album that well so this is just curiosity.
Our baby had SEVERAL hits here. We Belong Together was song of the decade and spent 14 weeks at #1, it blocked Rihanna’s debut single “Pon de replay” from going #1 and it even blocked Mariah’s OWN other song “Shake it Off” from going #1 too so it peaked at #2 so that was another massive hit. “It’s like that” was also a big hit reaching #16 and even “Don’t Forget about Us” which was part of the deluxe edition of the album reached #1!!! So she was just all over the charts DOMINATING in 2005-2006. And her next album ALSO had more #1 hits so she would basically stay in the charts for another while and extend her streak almost up into the 2010s. And even tho none of her albums after this sold as much many people actually prefer them over some of her best selling albums including this one depending on taste, you might be one of them❤
Yes the moment has arrived & now you understand why. We belong together was her 16th number 1 remaining her 2nd longest song ever on the charts then of course it caused her to block herself with shake it off which peaked at #2 then my fav her 17th number 1 dont forget about us. Yes she took us to church with fly like a bird, love listening to this for inspiration. She has a concert video from this tour called the adventures of mimi which is one of my most favorite concerts, you definitely will have to check that one out, she really comes out of her shell with this one. Now to her next album which is E=MC, some love it & some dont but i liked it just fine. She would then score her 18th #1 on that record. This came out in 2008
In We Belong Together when she sings 🎶…and then I hear Babyface, “I only think of you” and it’s breaking my heart!🎶, she’s referencing a legendary classic r&b song called Two Occasions by The Deele (an 80s group Babyface and LA Reid were in). If you have never heard that song, do yourself a favor and listen to it asap. 😘
Just sitting back &Recalling all these albums as you experience them for the first time . Can't believe you're already at 2005. Well , let's see what else can I add.... Ahh, this was the highest selling album of the year and was nominated for 5 Grammys (including album of the year). To no 1s surprise, yet again, Mariah does not win Album OTY, instead it went to U2 (In Bono's acceptance speech her even acknowledges Mariah and even he was shocked they won). She wins 3 , best R&B song WBT, Female R&B Vocal WBT & Contemporary R&B album) This was def the direction she had long wanted to head towards. Sony/Columbia marketed her and her songs to a more Pop & Adult Contemporary audience. The maturity of life experiences and self care /confidence was apparent on this album. I recall she was interviewed by Ebony Magazine around this time (was also on the cover) where she discussed the issues and ongoing issues of being a biracial woman in this world and especially in the industry.
This album just came out of nowhere and caused havoc as she tore up through the charts and fired the middle finger at the critics and music industry in an astonishing so called comeback
LOL ikr, looking back, wtf did she have to come back from? Peaking at #2? She gets artist of the millennium and a year later people were calling her a has been. Wild 🫨🫨🤯🤯
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE listen to TLC's "Crazy Sexy Cool" album, from the highest selling girl group of all time (well Destiny's Child too)...there's a reason that album went DIAMOND.
Omg yayyyy! Today I had to deal with the biggest bitches and BS. Finally home from work and about to live my best life watching this video after I’m pack this fat bowl. Love u @inyoreacts
