Great recital! The real highlight for me here is the Franck prelude, fugue et variation, especially the warmth and richness of the prelude, amazing voicing, really!
Mariam is a major artist who has a stunning variety of musical colors, is always thoughtful and convincing when she takes time for expressive purposes, and plays with grace both physically and emotionally. So many really tender moments, and so many spectacular ones with verve and as the announcer mentions after the Gounod transcription, "swagger!' Wonderful voicing in every range and dynamic. What a pleasure to know of her playing and look forward to her future performances and recordings!
I so much wish I could have been there. One of the best concerts I have heard in my concert going years. Your playing and virtuosity and above all your soul and your wonderful expressions were so special. Loved it all so much. Love you too.
Mariam Batsashvili what a beautiful tone..... Her performance grab my heart, especially Lszt is so great I think. Thanks Wigmore Hall,I didn't know about her.
Dear Ms. Batsashvili, I would like to thank you very, very much indeed. Through this your beautiful playing I got to know C. Francks Prelude et Fugue. Without telling the wohle story (which is looooong ;)) I can honestly say, that this piece changed my life and deeply, deeply moved my soul. I love your interpretation very much. 🙏🏻Warm and grateful regards to you! Wishing strongly to hear your playing live soon. Much love and all the best for your outstanding artistry from a 51yr. old german piano disciple 😉🙏🏻😇
@Syazani Saidan Totally agreed! This kind of venue is far more befitting Ms. Mariam's prodigious, world-class artistry. But that said, when Ms. Mariam performs from her home (as in her previous Warner Classics posts), her one-of-kind personal warmth comes across in a way that the concert hall cannot convey.
Exquisite Ravel & Schumann, stunning Liszt and playful Rossini. Bravo! I'm glad that I have come to this video. I like her physical style too. No long dress. Why do female musicians have to wear those long ( or very short ) ridiculous dress always??? Classical music world has to grow up in 21 century!
The first time I saw Miriam was her concert from home #3. I immediately loved her playing and purchased her Listz album. I listen to it almost every day while doing dishes. Her music then made me get the score to the 1st piece on the CD. I think I'm super susceptible to unintended marketing! Thank you for this wonderful artist and thanks to Miriam for her lovely playing!
Une merveille absolue... Une sonorité d'une richesse illimitée, un sens du phrasé doté d'une réelle intelligence musicale et artistique qui en font une de mes pianistes préférées à l'heure actuelle . Vivement son prochain passage français.
Brilliant. Total concentration and dedication to the music which she plays beautifully. Thanks to this recital I have discovered here the piano version of Franck's brilliant organ piece, which I have now started to learn to play.
Wonderful concerto and amazing program.....yes the Frank piece lovely but the Thalberg is just extraordinary difficult piece and also beutiful....congrats Mariam... We will follow you very close......
Fantasiestuck ! I’m pleased to listen these pieces brought to life performed by such an inspired pianist. It was a great pleasure to meet Marian. What a wonderful repertoire! Bravo!
She's certainly one of the very best pianist I've heard so far. Her interpretation of the Chaconne Bach-Busoni (DWV 1004) is exceptional. Just look at her face and gestures, she lives the music she plays. She's totally into It.
I like so much the choice of music, first Franck , from sobriety to the extention of the romantic rose , we are inside of the heart of music If I were Mariam B. I would choice those musics in the same order
Just listened to entire concert again and again. Even comparing you with other virtuosi you are so rich and deep, sensitive and beautiful. Even your introduction to the Rossini is so meaningful. I love your playing. ☘️☘️🌻🍂🍂🌿🍀🌻
Wonderful!!! I would donate if all my money didn't go to the nursing home. I very much appreciate these terrific and varied concerts and am truly thankful for them.
Liked her opening piece I've recently learnt it franck prelude fugue and variations and uploaded. Didn't know Thalberg had a version like Liszt of Norma de bellini paraphrase from the bellini opera very similar obviously
Actually not a hiccup, but a nocturnal rendezvous with a tiny obstacle, which is overcome with perfect somnambulistic certainty. Don't forget she is playing a composition called "La Sonnambula" ...
