Becoming a contributor to an open source project can be daunting. In 2024, I embarked on a mission to Djangonaut Space and made my first contributions to Django core. In this talk, I will tell you about the process of becoming a contributor, and the lessons I learned along the way. This talk is also suitable for people who don't use Django.
