He’s never been an asshole to interviewers even when they were trying to provoke the guy. Seems intelligent and well spoken. I’m 50, not really a fan but he’s impressed me.
He is even when meeting him he is well spoken and articulate and he loves to listen to his fans input on his albums. He used to share early work with his fans when he's done recording to get their input on it to see their reactions to his art. He's always been close to his fans like that.
@Essel Ellis he does like his booze though. Social confidence and numbing of difficult emotions and memories - I imagine that would appeal to him. Does come at a cost, though. He'll need to moderate it. Perhaps his earlier drug use helps him know how to do that - I suppose we'll just wait and see. His comments about Depp certainly made me think he's probably better at that than Johnny seems to be...
I’m a fan and I personally think his whole style and provocative work is a big F you to celebrity culture and Hollywood entertainment. A rebellion against what is considered handsome/beautiful if you will. I think he’s a massive cynic, but also a decent man in real life.
31:00. He literally just proved his innocence with that statement. “Take it too the police, not the press” “unserious allegations are insulting to people who have actually been sexually assaulted”. A real abuser wouldn’t say things like this. At least in my opinion.
Exactly. But some women and men tend to lie in a effort to demolish someone's reputation or image but really they are the ones trying to destroy their own lie.
@@timthomson8362 one.. learn how to type out what you're trying to say.. two.. you obviously know nothing about Marilyn Manson which is his persona Brian Warner is his person they are very different it's called. show business.. he was able to differentiate and make millions while you are just a keyboard warrior
I'd say it's much better and smarter to look and know both sides of the coin. Imagine the hosts of all the shows he has been on and the shock from the one doing the interview, to see just how intelligent and beautiful mind and heart this artist holds within himself. Music is artistic in many forms, and almost all the people who don't like his music or his appearance judge who he really is because of the imagery he presents in his music. People judge one side of the coin without even getting a glimpse of the other side. And it's the same with people who fall in love with his interviews and refuse to listen to his work. No judgements here from my end. Simply the shock value from an observation. It's just M-Obscene. 🖤🖤💀💀🤘🤘🖤🖤
You can tell how authentic a person is by how well they listen. Manson listens intently to questions so he can answer with utmost integrity.. im always impressed by him.
I love that this interviewer is one of the only persons that actually lets Manson speak without cutting him off. Great interview! So happy to see him in better spirits.
funny thing is you cannot really cut him off -his impression and character really get his point across no matter how hard they try exactly as it should be for a exceptional artist in expressioning his point !
He keeps making so many jokes and the interviewer is just silent. I hate when they don't care about the answers and are just waiting to ask their next question. Manson deserves more respect than that.
mydogeatspuke I felt the same way while watching this interview. Whenever Manson would get philosophical and start talking deeply on a profound subject the interviewer would dismiss it hurriedly and move on to something less thought provoking. “So, back to Columbine”.....Way to curt the seriousness and depth of your interviewee. Why not just ask what his favorite color is....
mydogeatspuke No, a news programme has a different audience and purpose, . This person is doing their job, it’s you who misunderstands how media works, mydogeatspuke.
My heart goes out to him so much. He has looked so sad since his father died and I know how close they were. Very Sad. Love this man. He has the biggest heart even though many people can't see it. I wish I could hug him so much.
Chuck Brogan I agree. When I seen him live in Chattanooga, TN a few years ago, his father was on tour with him. He brought him to spend more time with him. He knew he didn't have much time left with him. His father was very nice. He went around greeting people in line before the show opened.
To me, he is a well spoken, intellectual, self deprecating, introspective, over the top artist that chose to become a rockstar without any real musical talent when he started and I have always loved his work. He got what it was really early on and I always felt like he was almost more of a curator of culture more than a musician. He does it so well too. I always love to watch his interviews and I think I've seen every one. I haven't missed one since I watched him get interviewed by Bill O'Reilly. It was the most fun thing I have ever watched because I truly thought Bill underestimated him and thought he was going to be interviewing some unintelligent irresponsible Rockstar and was basically planning on doing a morality hit piece and got a big surprise.
Marilyn is so missunderstood. A really smart & clever guy that's really actually humble. I love how he can totally rock out, and at the same time do interviews like these. 🙏🏽☮️❤️
@@zevyzevness3800 You started your original comment with, "I don’t know what you guys are talking about" (I fixed your spelling). The comments are/were suggesting that Marilyn Manson would be good at reading stories on the internet like Creepypastas. Pedophilia, atheism and Johnny Depp weren't mentioned at all - as far as I'm aware. I called you a troll i.e. you are attempting to start quarrels on the internet to distract and sow discord by posting inflammatory and digressive, extraneous, or off-topic messages. That's what you did, I'm being accurate. I don't care if your "dead serious". Ignorance doesn't come into it. I don't need/want your respect, we don't know eachother and even then, judging by how you type I wouldn't want/need it then either.
This guy is so down to earth - the complete opposite effect of his intimidating look on stage. He seems really easy to talk to and the responses given are incredible.
I've met him twice. Had the pleasure of having him sign my arm (now tattooed on my side), have him hug me, and give me a little kiss on my cheek. He is honestly a genuine nice guy. And an extreme gentleman. Him and Alice Cooper are the nicest celebrities I've ever met.
I only can comment on my personal experience with him. And with me he was nothing but a gentleman. Am I saying he didn't do those things to those girls? Absolutely not. I was just sharing my personal experience.
His intelligence will win most open minded people over. I enjoy listening to him speak. He seems like the drugs/touring are taking a real toll on him, though, these days. Obviously the father’s passing did, too.
As a fan of Manson's music and philosophical perspective I can relate to the reality of missing a father. My dad passed away on September 9th of this year and I still find myself crying, texting his phone or calling it, posting on his Facebook expecting him to answer. It's one of the worst feelings in the world to lose a parent unexpectedly. Always thought my dad would live well into his nineties or one hundreds. Never was I expecting for him to pass away at the age of sixty-six. Seriously cherish your parents my friends. I find myself feeling massive guilt for not being a better son or making wiser decisions.
I hope you coping well friend. That brought tears to my eyes. I recently lost my husband at 36.. when our daughter was 18 months old. It's awful when your days are filled with 'I coulda's & I shoulda's & I wish I woulda's'... many blessings to you.
Your comment really spoke to me… I haven’t lost a parent yet… and I pray to god they both live a long long life. But I find myself watching my father age and my mom get sick and I dread the day that either one pass away. I’m an only child- so they are literally all I have as my grandparents are gone and I have not found my own person to be with (as a spouse, partner or whatnot). I find it scary, and lonely- my greatest fear to be alone in life. I hope you are doing well. Take care.
Well, holidays are fake, and a excuse for people to become conjoined with each other instead of just being like that every day of the year and in time without having a made up "holiday" to bring them together. Not everyone has the same brain structure in the realm of thoughts and thinking. But of course, there are also the factors of time off from work for a good set amount of time because of seasonal weather. And of course, in the eyes that only want to judge and hate with their outlook on the lives of others, all they can simply say and accuse of people doing things differently than the "Norm" of most of society, all they say is "You're not normal, that's not normal" It's incredible how I've read that some people dont like, or never got into his music, but they like to see his interviews. It's better to see and know the two sides of the coin people, maybe that way they'll understand so much more of the world they live in and are a part of.
He is such an intelligent, down to earth person who always gives great interviews and I would know, I have watched them all. Such a fan. Dig his energy
He truly loved his father. Making an album after losing his dad, was truly therapeutic in many ways to him. It's very obvious. It's also very obvious he still misses his father.
My heart goes out for him. HIS DAD and MOM was his biggest support which is awesome and amazing bc alot of ppl who don't like MM obviously DON'T understand how much of a genius he is and how smart he is and always has been very articulate. I know that this is an old interview but I'm sure he still misses him just as much as then. I think if parents were more like his and others that let their kids express themselves the way they want. I think it would be better for kids self esteem. I'm my daughters biggest cheerleader and she's very different where she is such a girly girl and it took me 10yrs to get out of a bad situation let's say to be able to express myself the way I finally wanted to. Sorry for the rant in the end .I tend to jump around alot...😉
I never doubted, but I'm still amazing what intelligent and open minded man Marilyn Manson is. And so nice, he talks honest about his family, which not everyone would do in front of medias. This society is just not ready for his art, and I doubt even after thousand years it will be.
Marilyn Manson has changed over the years physically. The guy's 48. But he still has the strong voice as he did back then. Except that he doesn't perform half naked with the stripped attire during his concerts now.
I like Marilyn with some weight on him he looks so much more healthier and looks well handsome in his suits granted in this video he's looking rough but it's to expected the poor guy's had a cunt of a year❤❤xxx
Listening to this interview in my 30’s and I’ve been connected to Marilyn Manson’s music since the very beginning of his career…my low teen years…everything he describes about his music is what makes him my most favourite celebrity alive. Love him.
2017 was a tough year for Manson, yet he still managed to put on some of the best shows I've ever seen him play, right after his father had died in July and then only a few weeks after breaking his leg. I'm so thankful for this man and his art. He's a fucking legend.
While Manson was born in the same year Charles Manson fucked shit up, I was born in the same year Marilyn Manson started fucking shit up, 1990. Consequently, I have seen him only a few years later. If you are inferring that he was even better in the late 90s, then I'm just going to have to remind you that he was also 20 years younger in the late 90s. His incredible live performances (among other things) in the 90s paved the way for his career and don't take away from his most recent performances.
hey no im not in the late 90s the band was on fire john5 pogo ginger twiggy they kicked ass on playing live i seen him a few years back it was just ok to me but his band are playing alot better now this year has been the best for him in like 15 years
Agreed. Manson and his band are on fire again. I do miss Twiggy on stage, but it's great seeing Manson smile again. 30 years after coming up with this whole rock star concept he's still far from being a nostalgia act. His new material is the strongest part of his shows. 2018 will be a huge year for Manson. He deserves it, and I'm sure his parents would be proud as FUCK.
Vlad dont feel bad, they had an amazing relationship and his father often went to his shows. They also did a photoshoot together where his father was wearing make up too to show that he supported him and understood him.
Most interesting interview with Marilyn Manson. He is so iconic yet so humble. I appreciate that about him and his work. I am currently revisiting his music and his life story. I think there is so much to learn from the man and not just the mania. Thanks!!!🖤🖤🖤
I met him for the 1st time last week before his show. Such a lovely man, really shy like me and very sweet. Fantastic live. Loads of energy even with his broken leg.
@@anvilbrunner.2013 I think you should jog on with that very childish opinion and comment. You know nothing about me, or indeed my parents or what my situation is. You must have assumed I'm a kid aswell.

I would absolutely love to meet and sit down with this man! He is so intelligent!!! Prime example of not being judgmental. You could miss out on meeting and knowing some wonderful individuals!
I'm glad to see that MM never lost that lovely calm way he has about him. Loved him back in the 90's and still love him today. There's always been something so endearing about him and his intelligence is on another level...reminds me of my husband!!
Grammar Nazi if you read who i was replying too you’d see i’m criticizing the fact no matter how many times it’s been stated people still ask that question.
@@grammarnazi2159 No, criticising an interviewer for not looking up the person he's interviewing further than just the obvious stuff that has been asked about him for decades and have been answered for decades, just lazy interviewing, he could have easily looked deeper and found much more interesting things to ask but he just went for the most obvious stuff because it doesn't require effort and the only people who watch Channel 4 are old people anyway so it doesn't matter to them.
I love you Marilyn Manson. You helped me cope with severe depression and also extreme anger. Without you and your music i may easily have taken actions that would have been irreversible. Thank you Marilyn, i love you.
I've listened to Manson since 97 and listened to his interviews and he has helped me get through some tough times. He puts on a great show and I even bought a purse with his face on it! I love you Marilyn, Thank you for everything!!!! xoxoxo
I just love how sweet this guy is. People always putting him down as a dirty guy or something. But he is so intelligent and his mind is so beautiful. Really nice to listen to! 🌻
Yeees When saw him first time I thought that he’s another weird unpleasant vulgar musician, but after i watched some interviews I changed my mind He’s really nice
His humour goes over the interviewer's head for the most part, i'm on a Manson binge atm, been a fan of his since I was 15, i'm 35 now lol, not listened to him religiously or anything but that album the last tour on earth was the anthem of my teens and i always go back to it, and check out his new stuff. His voice, singing and talking normally, is ear nectar to me.
Brian is the greatest performance artist that's ever lived. Some people didn't understand what he was doing, the rest of us bowed down and let him put on his show.
I seen some footage of Marylin boarding a plane soon after his father passed away. He was very down to earth polite to people I believe he is a genuine good soul

@@BPlaneGirl Because if you dont have Jesus you end up in the lake of fire underneath this world. satan controls this world and if you have the riches of this world without Jesus Christ and salvation from sin you have nothing but eternal death.
That part where he is talking about his dad and casually stops what he's saying and states "I just miss my dad" killed me inside. I've been a fan since '97 and one of the first things I noticed about him personally was how close him and his dad were. You don't see many people speak about their parents as an adult like Manson has. Almost every real interview since I can remeber he mentions his dad in some way. RIP Hugh Warner.
Same here fan since smells like children, and you are dead on.i have also seen his dad at every show of his I have been to.you can tell how bad he hurts when he talks about his dad.
His mother too. He's so hurt he didn't get to tell her goodbye before she lost her senses. I remember seeing his Dad in an interview & he said something like "You can't change someone.. you just love them & accept them for who they are". He said that at the time he was dating ERW.. I believe that's where he got the inspiration for saying that. Hugh also said he didn't trust her, that he noticed Manson wasn't being himself & thought she was controlling. Boy was he right. She says his full name on interviews just to say his Dad's name to hurt him. The picture that was used for her BS documentary, she was standing in front of a Dogwood tree. Manson loves Dogwood trees bc they had one in his backyard when he was young, and his mother told him the legend of the Dogwood & told him the leaves represents the stigmata of Christ. He buried his parents ashes in a Dogwood tree 💙
I just started learning about this guy... I love how opinionated he is... And that he's able to justify everything he believes... He's actually brilliant
It won't save him from the lake of fire if he doesn't repent. Watch this to understand what's going on with these "stars" and their true purpose: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-keyqrE4Yc3Y.html
I'm not a MM fan but listening to his peaceful laid back voice makes my mind relax. Kinda goes along with what he's saying here. It's so true about how a certain frequency can have a certain effect on the brain. Also, I feel the same way as him about time. How u kinda get stuck in time in your mind and being wiser but not necessarily more mature. I mean I know i'm older and look it but just don't feel older in my mind. Hard to explain.
Marylin Manson is a true artist, he shows to all what we don’t want see with brilliance and top notch music. mObscene is a forever masterpiece. He is very intelligent, funny, humble and soft spoken, a true gentleman and a wonderful soul.
I truly believe that he is a very sensitive person. Despite the image he created all these years and the crazy stuff he has done, he's a very sensitive soul. He's the kind of guy I would like to talk about poetry and philosophy and God and Love and life...
Yeah I know he's such a sensitive guy him and Johnny Depp are so careful to remain sensitive while they commit pedophilia trust me yeah I know he's a very sensitive man he tries not to kill the kids until it like a week after buying them all these people satanic look at this beast look at this creature
@@benjameswatchman6279 yeah I believe that sounds like a Satanist to me sounds like a freak to me sounds like someone who's going down real soon to me or actually God himself will detroy them... facts
You're absolutely right. His "prime" was when we all had that anger/angst. And he evolved every single album, as an artist would. In the 90s, ya know, the usa was different. The internet didnt run the world. It took a lot to get an uprising & that's what he did.
Hes so down to earth. Almost peaceful to listen to. Laid back. I can fall asleep listening to him like a lullaby. Lol . He is theater all the way. An artist.
@@MrYuri188 sadly, I believe the person he’s abused the most is himself. Also, he’s been very open and honest about his childhood trauma and sexual abuse. We all deal with and process trauma differently, yet everyone has to live with it and find a myriad of ways of doing so. Nobody was there or knows the full truth of all these allegations except the select few that were actually present, none of us are in any kind of position to judge or draw conclusions.
yea for real, and then for him to divert out of that section of the interview just to have the interviewer go "yea well getting back to Columbine..." like that shit makes me cringe just watching lol
Considering the media still blames him and others for the shooting, and not like.. failing family values, shitty parenting and despite the entire notion being fucking ridiculous, I'm not surprised people bring it up.
Definitely on the name too. I mean come on, practically everyone knows what his name means at this point, and if you don't it's simple to find the answer somewhere else
I’m so impressed with the person Marilyn Manson is... he’s such a dichotomy. I love his artistic style and his persona and love the person he is, his thoughts and responses are articulate and honest. Clearly a brilliant mind.
The loss of his parents has definitely hit him hard.. hes not one to be open with his emotions, but you could almost see tears when he said, he went to go see his dad after he finished the song.. and then he passed.... Seriously I wanna give him a fucking hug
@@vincevirtua she talks about how he would call and tell her he was gonna kill himself . The song into the fire from THEOL is pretty much all about that . He cut himself dozens of times because she wouldn't answer his calls too
I love you Manson! He is a true artist and has opened my eyes through the years. I would love to be able to talk to this man for a day. "I wouldn't say anything, I would listen"
YASS as he eats my ears and slides and taps his rings over the 3Dio. He could talk about painting his nails or playing his triangle for all I care. It would be gold!
This is the first time I ever saw Marilyn in a conversation. And I’m quite impressed w. how he expresses himself. He seems to be a very interesting person.
What a down to earth bloke ,great musician and love your music keep it it up mate .oh loved the interview as well .I was diagnosed with aggressive rectal cancer and listened to all your music in hospital .prayes be to God I'm quered now 🙏 amen.
I love how peaceful and calming his voice is. I could listen to him talk about day🥰🎧 I don't like that Manson is making jokes and stuff and the interviewer is dead silent like he doesn't care just wants to get to the next question. He deserves more respect than that
