Welcome! These musical clips are from a large video collection that is now being converted from VHS/Beta to digital. There is some viewing quality loss from the original video source due to the age of the tapes, but the performances are preserved and still a joy to view. I'm finding many lost performances from vintage R&B, Soul, Pop, Broadway, Cabaret and other performances. This channel will be the Ed Sullivan channel for the digital generation, something for everyone to enjoy. Many of the performances will be seen for the first time since they were originally televised. I will be adding many musical performances from a variety of sources that I hope you will enjoy. Marilyn is a terribly underrated performer. She can sing just about anything, and the fact she is gorgeous only adds to her abilities. She's certainly one of my favorites.

To see her today, I thank God her and Billy married. They obviously protected each other’s stardom from sadness, despair, and death to themselves. You can’t avoid that stuff but one can surely avoid bringing it upon themselves.

You do get that this was a performance from the late 1980's?? Also what insight do you have into what possible sadness, despair etc they may have faced? How do youi know they have not faced it? Truly a moronic (albeit well meaning) comment

I completely agree. I think she is a great singer and in the hands of a different musical director this could have been a lot better. The voice is wasted and the theatrics detract from the performance. Shame.

@@wilbs55 First off, this is a very very sad song. So the musical arrangement with the drums beating in background was totally wrong. There's a video of Ruthie Henshall singing this live for some Les Mis performance. She was singing in character and her performance brought tears to my eyes. Then again there's another performance of her singing the song out of character on some TV show. It was just not the same. Anyway this is a very hard song to sing out of character, and even more so as a pop number.
