Frederica Bimble high on pills and suffering from deep depression and undiagnosed bipolar....people back then didn't know what she was going through...the pain she must've been in.
cathy smith dont you have anything better to do with your life then constantly watch her videos just to shit on her? Shame on you! for being such an insensitive judgmental troll.
Agreed. No one can substitute no one but no one, can substitute Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn was like JonBennet Ramsey, extremely beautiful, lovely, attractive, great people that needed as everyone but, they needed protection, they couldn't get it better let's say. Because they both died too soon, specially JonBennet. Hopefully there's hope to have them back (Job 33:29,30). Thank you all who can use your tongue respectfully towards all you can. Is better that way. I really thank you!
Rodolfo Plasencia “If you can’t say something nice, you don’t have to say anything.” I remember those days and they can come back with gentle reminders like this one. Thank You!
@@bella4644 she was a legendary movie star, lots of very pretty actresses would love to have her movie career, beauty is not everything it can get woman into trouble
I think so too. A deep wistful beauty shines through that transcends the earlier voluptuous image. But it resonates with the earlier personas she conveyed on films before Hollywood stuck her in the blonde bombshell roles. She has played many different types of people, in dramatic and comedic roles. Yet she doesn't seem to get acknowledged for that range, at least here in the USA.
@cathy smith She came from not only nothing, but an extremely sad childhood as an orphan bounced around foster homes, owning nothing, and certainly abused. She was a career woman before her time. What she was able to achieve is remarkable considering the obstacles. Doctors prescribed speed and sleeping pills frequently in those days to keep people going. Don't judge.
@cathy smith you do know that sex doesn't cause your insides to rot, right? I mean, you've obviously got some issues around sex, calling Ms. Monroe a "whore," and projecting stuff like "she didn't value her body and had no self respect." It's easy to sit on your throne of judgment from the anonymity of the Net, isn't it? Seems that the most spiteful and hateful people on here hide behind God. I'm sure your God wouldn't take kindly to you speaking about someone is such a NON-CHRISTIAN way.
I think as she got older she started to drop the bimbo act a little. She smiled rather than pulling faces and her acting was so much better - when she did act. In some ways she really seemed to be coming into her own.
Michelle That wasn’t the point I was making lol. I’m 23, but no- I don’t think of 36 as old. I’m saying it doesn’t make sense to me even if people back then did think 36 was “old” because she still looked very youthful and beautiful. Even with the alcoholism and drug use.
Lewis Edwards I’m 31, it’s so weird to think she was only five years older than I am now when she died. I agree though that she still looked great and very youthful. Not everyone ages as well
@Anon Anon I have just seen this for the first time less than an hour ago and that's not Marilyn Monroe. I am googling furiously for images from her last few movies. It's not the real Marilyn in The Misfits either.
@shahla1123 no need for vile comments and if she was so what,, there's worse things to be on life who's got the right to judge what about the men she went with then
@cathy smith Really? Give me a break, did you grow up in one foster home after another your whole life from infant to young woman? Walk in her shoes then say that. Addiction is a DISEASE!
It was old for Hollywood, and still is. The roles become increasingly hard to find the older you are. Most roles are in the 20s and younger for you to be exciting and fresh and sexy.
HP Lovecraft It still is. Not in western countries but here in my country being older than 30 means that you’re a leftover, expired and spinster. I wish i was born somewhere else, it feels bad to be a woman in middle east. This ageism needs to be addressed.
This made me cry....this poor lost soul, what she had endured in her life, and before the times when she could have gotten the right kind of help ...she reminds me of Elvis, in his last years....both were beautiful, charismatic and kind people who were basically alone in their fame. Dean Martin's kindness to her was heartbreaking....what a gentleman he was and so kind, as other people have said, he knew what was happening to her.
The stress of her private life was showing in the end days of production. She was so beautiful outside but, mostly inside. She wanted to be seen as an actress more so than a sex object. I say this due to my life long obsession with her and studying her history. She was beforw her time.💖
I am bipolar and it is difficult enough on all my meds. I am constantly tired all the time. But I would rather be tired than depressed, panicky and having mood swings constantly. It must have been horrible for her because they really didn't have anything back then for that. She had to be miserable.
Vanessa Viola No it’s not, please educate yourself before speaking. It’s a personality disorder with MANY different aspects such as identity crisis, extreme mood swings, black/white view on everything and everyone, unable to have stabile relationships, selfharming behavior and so much more. Yes depression, anxiety, mania and psychosis can be a part of it, but it’s much more.
@Kahlil King says the guy who has never experienced mental illness. It's not something anyone chooses and until all my shit kicked me in the ass @ 22 I was a bad ass mfer. So believe me if it were a choice i'd choose to go back to 22 and then proceed with what i was doing. Simple minded ppl take vitamins brilliant people take sedatives that would knock you guys on your asses for a week and we get a few hours relief, if that. You're on level 15 we're on 95
She had an affective disorder. Regardless whether it was unipolar r bipolar, usage of barbiturates will aggravate the disease. In those days, 1962 , medical science did not know this. If someone has depressive disorder, and starts alcohol or barbiturates, that person will get sicker, and will never ger out this disease. This is what happened to her.
Please note how in every scene that they do have of her you do not see her throwing fits, crying, acting drug addled or otherwise crazy. She was not crazy. The studio WANTED her labeled so they could malign her and control her. And btw ACTORS do take more than one take on a scene for whatever reason.
No one before or after could hold a candle to Marilyn’s beauty and special je ne sais quois. And 35-36 is no age at all...I wish she could’ve lived on...❤️
The only other woman who came close to Marilyn was Anna Nicole Smith. Anna could have gone very far in her career had it not been for her addiction. Fact!!
Franci Lucero: From everything I've read, Joe was the only one who truly loved her. Do you know if it was true, that weeks before she died ...that Marilyn and Joe were attempting to get back together?
wvufreak56 Yes that is what I also heard. They truly loved each other. Joe was very conservative and the scene where her dress was blowing up from the grate made him loose his cool .
JasmineSkyy you werent born yet.. and either was i.. all hollywood are under pressure to produce diamonds...if they cant a new crop of diamonds will move forward
Marilyn isn’t even acting - she is naturally sexy, funny, smart, human, as well, breathtakingly beautiful. Dean; is the most loving friend to her... Godspeed
It's hard for me to fathom that those she worked with didn't see how ill she was, even just psychologically. Just watching her I can see she is off. I would've pulled her aside and asked, honey what's wrong?! Really wrong? And hugged her and gave a damn.
An picture of female empowerment to most...what's not to love? An idol to others... that's no sin. People did loved her no matter how and I bet everything they all felt awfully bad when their beloved actress died. Love isn't defined in only one way. And have faith in people, I'm sure they loved her in more than just one way.
Luz Galarza you don’t know what love is. Love, starts by loving yourself. Before you ask for it in others. The other things you mentioned a bit shallow, but ok good enough distractions, didn’t help her.
She was such a doll! It's true -- 'ya 'gotta raise kids carefully & with love. Life is a delicate, confusing thing. We need to be careful how we approach it. We can't forget a lady as wonderful as Marilyn Monroe ……. or should I say -- Norma Jean Baker. Love, Cav. *
Dean Martin, from what I have seen and watch real life with the rat pack, he was a family man and would put apple juice in his glass, pretending he had a drink. He was truly a very patient and kind man, she really did have a sad life and just wanted love and fame, I adore her to this day.
Thank you for posting this documentary. I suppose this lends a lot of insight into the events leading to her death and of course her psychological state at the time. I guess she's in a better place now. Poor thing. She lived in a time when Bi Polar (manic depression) was such a stigma. Had she been born 30 years later, she may still be alive today. I guess we'll never know.
She may have perceived herself differently than Hollywood perceived her, which is sad 😥 she wanted so much to be taken seriously and all the roles she was given to take worked against that! I wish they would have really understood what she was trying to accomplish...She would still be here dazzling us!
The week before she died she was rehired for 1million dollars as Dean Martin refused to accept a new actress. By her bed when she died was a Vegas contract for her own show at 200,000dollars. She'd also told friends she was going to remarry Joe Dimaggio, they'd been seeing each other again. She also told Dr Greenson she was planning on doing stage roles & cutting down on films (the book 'Victim' has transcripts of her therapy tapes). She wasn't suicidal, but she was telling people she was going public on her affair with the Kennedy brothers & "being passed around like a piece of meat". She'd thought Bobby would leave his wife.
There is so much more to this than just a woman making a suicide. First of all, there is so many people around her with alternative motives. It is hard to believe that a woman this driven in her career decided to end it all. Especially when she planned to marry again etc. So many questions!!!
Always gorgeous, they didn't even let her celebrate her own birthday!!!!! She was such a sweet person underneath it all, just mistreated by the studio & also as a child ( abused) I don't know why her psych would basically brainwash her!!!
Fox gave Elizabeth Taylor an elaborate birthday party around the same time, even though Liz was a no-show for more shooting days on the set of "Cleopatra" than MM was for "Something's Got to Give". At least MM had a valid reason for her absences...acute sinusitis and a high temperature. She was on medication for her illness, and Fox's own Dr. stated that she was indeed quite ill, and that filming should be postponed for a month to allow MM time to recuperate. Fox ignored his diagnosis, so they had a physically ill woman on their hands. It was their own fault.
oh my... i made it this far in, but the part where it says she ended her birthday celebration by attended a charity to raise money for children muscular dystrophy... tears. even in all her sadness the beauty of her soul still shone through.
cathy smith why are you watching this when you seem to hate Marilyn? I’ve noticed like five hateful comments of yours on this one video. You might be pretty on the outside(I don’t know since you don’t have a photo up), but your words are ugly and judge-mental.
@cathy smith just because a woman dresses a certain way does'nt mean she's a whore . It is because of people like you that girls feel insecure and judged all the time . Marilyn was a beautiful soul and a million times better than you will ever be
Marilyn was so physically perfect to look at, she was not destined to grow old. She forever remains young, beautiful and a huge star even 55+ years after her death.
Let's not romanticise dying young. Beautiful or not, everyone deserves the chance to live a full life. And to say someone is too beautiful to grow old is pathetic. Our society has a serious problem with aging, specifically with beautiful women.
@cathy smith some woman it never leave them not with age and some know what perfume to wear, their tight pants look perfect, their skin match their hair, clothes look perfect, perfect looking makeup, lipstick, et. Etc
@@claudipopstutu1304 I said before those who like to trash talk and judge harshly are just envious and jealous. They can't get any action because they can't get anyone to look their way.
I still think the idea of pairing Marilyn Monroe with Wally Cox was sheer genius. When the film was put back into production a year later, the same scene with Doris Day and Don Knotts just didn't have the same zing.
There is no competition when it comes to Marilyn Monroes beauty, she is one of a kind, and no younger woman could compete with the X-factor, that ora she had
the problem with this is I feel she may have felt that her inner beauty would go unnoticed as she became older because so many people only focused on her outer beauty which is sad bc she was beautiful within and without. she was mentally abused as much as she was sexually abused I have so much empathy for her she was mistreated she didn't deserve it. rip
I can't stand the comparisons between Liz & Marilyn. Liz was the best brunette, Marilyn the best blonde. Maybe Rita Hayworth or Maureen O'Hara were the best redheads.
true. we saw liz get old and suffer with personal and health issues. i'm sorry that she died but i prefer to remember marilyn as she was. we have no choice.
On the Brignt side note her family fans and friends her spirit never dies but lives on. On Christmas evening she help sing a beautiful song to us n the radio I heard her. Once as bob golic was very cheerful also3.5
@cathy smith You sound like you don't get laid enough. Calm down for fuck's sake ! Marilyn was a gorgeous & successful woman. What have you achieved in your life ? Apart from writing hateful comments about somebody you never even knew. You're a sad, judgemental person.
she was pressed and felt she was unreasonable to share any needs she had. a great star that needed support and love from the studio and industry. they used her and wanted her to be better than she could be at that time, and the treatment she endured crushed her spirit.
It won't matter how much time passes, women will always emulate her till the end of time. She is eternally beautiful. A true lady plagued by many issues that cost her in the end. It's a serious shame she thought by getting older she was losing something when she was only getting better and better
What puzzles the hell out of me is, if she was so abusive to herself and her body, why was it that she looked more beautiful and youthful at the end of her life than she ever had before?
He was going all out to cover for her. It’s the uppers. She needed to go into a hospital. The day they fired her was the one time Dean was fed up. He split. They were going to bring in Debbie Reynolds. Deans agent pointed out that his contact said that the casting couldn’t be changed or the contact would be void. They stopped the picture. Dean then went under the knife again for a face lift.
Ghostofmxpast. You forget Susie Heywood. Red headed talented on both film and stage, beautiful, and stunningly under-used and underrated. A class act who died young
Back then,it was so called Mans world, sick.and the actresses before her,and that President... she was so young, beautiful but was pushed too far.Like the girl from wizard of oz (soz, half asleep, darn whats the name😱)anyway its a sad story, but she bloody intelligent!💋💋
@Melimo Many famous people that have died often didn't mean to kill themselves either. Kind of a warning to anyone, about the risks of drinking and mixing it with any kind of meds, especially strong sedatives or sleeping meds.
she was still young...in her 30's and ravishingly beautiful. In these scenes, she is spot on in her acting, those facial expressions, eye movements, etc.......a natural actress. So unfortunate to say the least that she was not convinced by all who knew her that her acting career had many, many years to go. She did not want another birthday for in Hollywood you cannot get old...after 40 you are old hat and the glamour roles are few and far between. Hollywood is an awful place to be if you are not self assured. Her director was no match for a psychiatric professional. She was a monetary object and easily replaced.
Props to Dean Martin. A total gentleman, good-natured, and very loyal to Marilyn. It meant a great deal to Marilyn when he counter-sued Fox after he refused to work with anyone other than Marilyn Monroe. (After Fox sued him for quitting.)
Even after turning 40, there would have been only one and unique Marilyn. No replacement. Such a shame that she wasn’t always aware of that and that no one told her.
Depression is weird, though... Many people who took their own lives seemed happier than ever, during the last day ( or last few days ). I've heard so many families / friends say that they didn't see it coming, because the person looked so happy & normal. Then, suddenly, they do it :/ In Marilyn's case, I don't think she killed herself......
