This woman didn't need to be making a movie. She needed a year off to do nothing. After all she had pushed herself for 10 years to get to this point. So sad.
You won't they start life doing wrong and having adults say things like boys will be boys . Yet what is the first toy we give a girl a baby doll telling them you are required to fit into this frail subservient female role . But a boy can do no wrong . It's sick and sad .
I loved Marilyn then. I love Marilyn still. When I was a boy, I used to have my bedroom walls covered in photos of her cut out from Modern Screen, Motion Picture, Life and Look magazines. She was so beautiful to me. She still is beautiful to me. She was a wonderful actress, very under-appreciated as such. She is THE icon of beauty.
Jenne sseee in those days after 30 your time playing pretty girls was in danger, now days woman have way more opportunities, look at Amy Adams and Jessica chastain they have leading roles and already hit 40, back then a woman in movies was a accessory, now we see all kind of stories around woman, a mother, a layer, an astronaut, etc. All movies I have seen on the 50's or 60's a woman is only one thing: beautiful! Lol.
It hasn't changed actress's over 30 even now considered getting on. If she had lived it would have killed her getting old and no one looking at her. She died still good looking.
Marilyn still had that youthful look up to her untimely death. Others that don't agree are jealous bitches. Some women 36 nowadays have that mom look with that ugly pear shaped body.
victoria o I AM SURE DEAN TALKED TO FRANK, ..POSSIBLY DUE TO FRANK SANATRA'S, ADVISE TO DEAN, HE SHOULD QUIT TOO...(RAT PACK) FRANK, SAID AFTER SHE DIED IN SADNESS, HE SHOULD HAVE MARRIED HER AND KEPT HER SAFE FROM HARM..THIS IS WHAT I READ...
@@karengray8618 ... Dean once say that this business is not easy and whenever he was hurting Frank was always there. Dean was hurting and I agreed Frank was probably there for him
She was the type of person to never give up. I could never see her committing suicide- she doesn't seem like she would. I think fox had something to do with her death, or maybe even her housekeeper. I honestly don't think she was suicidal. She was sick and stressed, so she did what she had to do- take time off set. You know, I have a classmate with a seizure disorder, but my teacher doesn't get mad when she misses five or six days.
I’m already 39. I don’t put too much emphasis on beauty the way I did when I was younger. The older I get, the more I want to engage in different types of activities. It’s kind of freeing really. I think it’s a time for celebration and devotion towards very meaningful things. I actually wish I had done that when I was younger, but there are a lot of societal pressures for younger women to always be beautiful and glamorous.
Leigh Sheets Actually Marilyn was very loved and adored...She was a horrific drug addict for years and the drugs made her stay a little girl....Marilyn was like a baby bird who could never get full, no amount of adoration and affection could help....while “using” she could not evolve and find self love, explore her deeper talents, and find peace.
Every human wants live, but don't kniw how to get it. First of all we all need to love ourselves. I learn it with go to Lisa A Ramono Life Break Through Couch Inc channel on RU-vid.
Beautiful, sad, insecure yet hypnotic in film and photo. There thousands not so famous like her though and back then not much was known or done to help these deep rooted psychological problems. This is a wonderful insight into her last months with us.
Beautiful Marilyn. Such a tormented soul, but still so genuine and a good person. It always seems to be people like that, like her, Michael Jackson, and other misunderstood people, that have these problems and then die young.
How very weak minded of you. Be thankful you've never had to face any real trials or tribulations in life. She tried to cope with her life and was chewed up and grinded down by the movie machine. She wasn't a 'diva'... duuuurrrrr. She had some serious psychological problems and was on heavy sedatives all the time. Be thankful your shallow life doesn't touch on those tragic things. Geesh.
Frederica Bimble I agree. It’s easy for people to judge her from the sidelines while they click or swipe. The poor thing. Everybody was doing that to her back then, too via the media of the period; “measure up or we won’t like you anymore!” While she was facing debilitating mental and emotional scarring from sexual abuse in orphanages in her childhood. You are right, those sitting in judgement on her never had to face that. She had the weight of the world on her shoulders. I always loved her and I still do.
Frederica Bimble - We all have Free Will to do what we want in life, you can either be a so called victim like MM liked to think about herself or be a Winner, taking responsibility for your own actions no matter what your background is like. What doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger, we’ve all had tragedy in our lives
Robin Alexander She was also treated very well and beloved by many, and MANY tried to help her...she was a drug addict and alcoholic and because of these facts she could not mature in a healthy way...but stayed an emotional child. No one did it to her! Many tried to help her.......Your wrong believing she was only treated like a piece of meat.
she saw a therapist EVERY DAY...her friends never understood why she was depressed because she saw her Mother regularly and had loving Foster parents..............you decide
I remember the Life magazine coverall pictures of her in different clothes,my fave pic was her was her on the ocean with the big sweater on. She looked sensational!!! I wasn't that old ,but I could appreciate beauty. That she was. Like a rose with thorns that hurt her constantly.🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹something about her,I always admired, her glamour, beauty, even without makeup.....I was very sad when she died.....
Liberty GiveMe. No. She was struggling. But she did not take her own life. It’s likely she took an accidental overdose, it’s easy to do especially with sleeping pills, it’s very easy to loose count.ive done it twice myself. However she’d put herself in a very vulnerable place with some dodgy characters and may have paid a high price for loose talk
She cannot hide the sadness shown in her eyes. She was famous and rich but the one thing she ever wanted to have a family didn't happened. Instead she has had 3 miscarriages and several divofce. Until her last days, she felt lonely and alone
She never had a family; her father had vanished and her mother was mentally ill.The first man a woman meets is the father. She wanted all men to become the father she didn't have that's why she failed in her relationships.
I guess Marilyn was depressive that’s why she couldn’t get herself up. Simple as that. She didn’t mean to hurt anyone. She felt sorry. And she knew that the film makers did deserve her in a better mood.
Laying a story that she was losing it. She had sinusitis. And was being prescribed drugs. Also she was being exploited in her last months by Sinatra and others
Thor’s #1 fan oh please she was a spoiled brat drug addicted startlet. She was depressed coz the president didn’t love her. Boo fucking hoo. Ughh Im so sick of ppl always making excuses for her. Marilyns spoiled brat behaviors lost many ppl their jobs. Fuck that bitch. She played the sex card and victim her whole life. She used ppl and didn’t give a shit about anyone else but herself. Selfish self centered druggie bitch. She took the easy way out. Like all cowards and losers. She is the only one to blame for her life and the shit choices she made. She was a shit actress. And her looks are from plastic surgery. Typical
cathy smith she wanted to be an actress we all know that, she knew what life was like, she never felt loved since she was a child, she was very broken and all she wanted was to be loved more than anything, but love would come and leave her leaving her more depressed and broken inside. How ugly is it to not even have an uncle or aunt, cousin let alone no siblings to vent to, to cry to, to be happy with. Marilyn was alone and she knew she was alone. She was broken and sad her whole life. Happiness was only temporary and she knew that. Although she doesn’t cry when she speaks, I can hear the sad broken girl inside. She needed a friend.
A I .....it’s a “Gemini thing” as it’s said. I’m a Gemini and when I read about my sign I read once that there is an emptiness within us that we seem to not be able to find. Marilyn was looking for her missing twin, Gemini’s are the twin sign. She was missing a part of her that she couldn’t find, at times she thought she did but those people would only end up abandoning her once again. She was alone in her mind and she feared that’s how it’s going to be forever. There are two sides to Marilyn, the exterior and the interior, inside she was gloomy, dark, sad, empty, she felt no real love, she was alone. She never found her missing twin. ❤️❤️❤️
@@cristianmendoza2609 She had a first husband who cared about her, and she got rid of him in a jiffy in order to have a career. She was a true borderline personality woman, full of contradictions and constantly shooting herself in the foot.
@@cristianmendoza2609 Ah, I see..... please get out of the new age nonsense before you waste any more of your time on it. I don't mean to be rude or unkind; in fact, I wish someone had shown me the reality early on, before I wasted a ton of time, money, and energy on this dangerous balderdash. Here is a good video to wake up on this matter: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4gXUrPC8hPM.html
1:27 was horrible for some reason it reminds me of college I have anxiety and it would get so bad I wouldn’t go to class I felt horrible for having to drop my classes or whenever my gpa dropped because of this I never graduated college I didn’t have health insurance I couldn’t get help at least the on campus therapist referred me to a psychiatrist but I couldn’t afford it
She had so much going for her at the time of her death. New contract, she bought a whole new wardrobe, she had gotten rid of the kennedy brothers out of her life and was potentially about to marry someone else. Why would she commit suicide? People who are moving forward with their life in the way she was at that time, don't kill themselves.
except that she tried to kill herself before. Like a lot of Hollywood people she was delusional. You have to remember they live in Fantasyland.......making movies especially with co-stars who they mistaken for real people., there you go
Just to add to that, never knowing Him paired with being abused as a child. Very sad. Sometimes you dont see it but you could just look in her eyes... it was so obvious.
Back then the help was drink beer not jack smoke weed don't snort and that's about the way it went then for a few weeks then you go back to your personal assault .
to us 36 doesnt seem old but in the Hollywood world during that time for that particular level of entertainment it was an age that meant she was getting older and her casting for roles would change even though she looked amazing. They have to put newer younger faces out soon to keep things going. Just like when she entered on the screen older actresses had to be pushed into a diff category. Nowadays things are a bit different. Go Betty White lol!
Greta Garbo made her last film at 36 and coincidentally was directed by George Cukor as well. Cukor had remarked that Garbo was complaining about her wrinkles possibly showing on camera of which Cukor told her she was being ridiculous.
Think of the people behind the movies. They're us working for celebrities. Jobs were lost, work was constantly suspended. But first, it was the studio's fault for hiring her.
SanySheveyandmandiluigi. I agree. But there was too much film footage of Taylor shot for her to be replaced unless they re-shot the whole damn movie like Elephant Walk when Vivien Leigh had a total psychotic breakdown and was replaced by Taylor. Although some of the long shots of Vivien remain in the film Vivien had conveniently broke down early enough into the film to be replaced by Taylor and for it not to show.
I agree entirely. It was grossly unfair. But ultimately it was the studio’s fault for insuring her as fully fit before shooting began. They knew she had a reputation and was probably incapable of acting again by then. But the studio big shots were covered by insurance and the insurance on Monroe was sky high. It reflects badly on them and subsequently Monroe that the little people got screwed. It wasnt the first and wouldnt be the last time sadly.
She was sufferring from psych disorder. In those days in 1962, medical treatment for bipolar or unipolar disorder was really not that good. In those days psychiatrists used to do mostly psycho therapy and Psychosnalysis---and nobody probably knew definitely that alcohol and barbiturates must be stopped. There were no good anti-mania and anti-depressants available.
She was a special human being regardless of age. People put too much emphasis on looks....on age....on all things that ultimately do not matter, that's what this fake and shallow world is all about and everything of real and lasting value is lost or ignored. It's tragic.
I hate how much they bring her age in the last parts of this..... 36 is ageing? since when! society is so ageist. and this is coming from a 20 yr old. jezz!
being the sweet soul and abgel that she was , one of the contributing factors that may have led to her suicide as is speculated is the reality tht her career was over and that she was responsible for 102 others in the production losing their jobs. it may have been to much to handle in her fragile state of mind combined with other mental. personal and physical issues. a tormented soul who sought peace acceptance and happiness in a life of unfullfilled. rest in peace marilyn forever for having a caring and loving soul.
Dean stood up for her when no one else would. she was a depressed woman and when the studio treats her like crap compared to other female stars of course shes going to get more difficult.
what do you mean "of course she's going to get more difficult" - does being famous give you the right to act like a Diva? That's really what ended her career and that was a choice..........she was ALWAYS LATE!!!
Yes but she was severely depressed and like any severely depressed woman she was secretly very insecure about herself and the worse part is no one knew about it so they couldn't build her up if they didn't know what was going on.
I think Cyd Charrisse is exaggerating about Dean being so mad because after all it was Dean who said he would not do the movie without her. Furthermore, it was the studio, once again trying to control her, that tweaked the news story to say she would not work in Hollywood again. They tried to bully & control her.....keep in mind that this was her last obligation to Fox under her contract. She was developing her own production company.
using the word "aging" to describe her is unfounded....life or youth is not over at 20. Shame. This is why poor MM thought she was "old" in her mid 30's.
She had a serious virus and fever. Fox's OWN studio Dr. recommended that they postpone filming for 1 month to allow her time to recover from her illness. But Fox refused the doctors recommendation and forced her to work, and as a result they had a very sick woman on her hands. She missed many days of filming due to the virus. Liz Taylor was costing Fox millions because of her behavior and absences from the set of "Cleopatra", but they took it out on MM, who made more $$$ for them than any other star for the past decade. Shame on Fox, shame on Cukor (who was a tyrant, and especially mean to MM...there are RU-vid videos that bear this out...check them out). And don't forget, MM was resigned to finish the movie and was granted a new contract where she would get $1,000,000.00 for making two additional pictures...TEN TIMES what she was originally being paid to do "SGTG" under an old contract. And also don't forget that Cukor was FIRED when they agreed to resume filming this movie.
I've read a lot about her and she was in therapy for years on a daily basis, so there was no lack of therapy. They dealt with a lot of her bull shit. It was just too much....I mean hours of her being late all the time. Would that happen to anyone else?
Bobby told her "nada....not leaving my wife" on the weekend no one heard from her...and she never regained her composure from that rejection. She was probably devastated.
Although most people don't want to believe this, Marilyn Monroe was battling severe psychiatric problems such as paranoia and voices in her head. She had been prescribed Thorazine to lessen these symptoms, but at the end of her life she wasn't taking it because it made her put on weight. I think that deep down in her heart she knew that she was not capable of doing two more motion pictures, even though she had just signed a million dollar contract to do these pictures. She was just too physically and mentally ill.
