Marilyn: The Last Sessions, a revealing documentary about the Hollywood icon paints a rare portrait of Monroe, based on tapes made during psychoanalysis sessions in the months prior to her untimely death.
The documentary is adapted from Michel Schneider's book, Marilyn, Last Sessions (Interallie Prize 2006 - Grasset), which was published in 20 countries in 2008. Patrick Jeudy is the director of Marilyn: The Last Sessions. It was produced by Film D'Ici in France, which also produced the Golden Globe award-winning and Oscar-nominated animated documentary Waltz with Bashir.

WoW! Marilyn was beautiful and amazing. I wasn’t alive during her rein as a movie star but watching movies of hers are still entertaining and Monroe captured beauty like no other. Marilyn Monroe is one in a billion and is truly missed.

her psychiatrist (her psychoanalist), was also her contract negotiator on her last picture (so now her agent) and Twentieth Century Fox also hired him to be a 'Special Advisor' for the film, and he would be in charge of editing for the film... ... oh and let's not forget being her psychiatrist he was also her Doctor and the one prescribing her medication. . was anyone else listening to the first few minutes? does this not sound a bit STICKY to say the least to anyone else???

I think the main issue with Monroe is that she was alienated in her childhood. She really didn't have many people to turn to. We all have a part of our childhood where we have felt disconnected or alienated from those around us. Like many people with saddened childhoods or childhoods full of issues; she just wanted to feel loved, have security and feel content in life. Marilyn really shouldn't have died that young. RIP x

How incredibly heartbreaking.this is the first and only clip i've seen of this documentary and it's so heart wrenching. it proves what i've always known Marilyn was a beautiful but broken spirit. It doesn't jus just say what she did but also how she felt which is something a lot of bios dont do. and when he says " The LATE Marilyn Monroe" that part has always given me chills i think if u only knew how tragically right u are.

This story is common for women who were never treated well while growing up. Its like she only felt comfortable with men who treated her badly. What a shame she could not feel settled with the men she married who actually loved her. Beautiful women and very sad story ...

As a retired therapist I must admit that I only had a few patients as hurt as she was. I certainly had an advantage over them. Today we recognize that trauma needs special care.

It was only a showbiz style and nothing more. However they made out a story out of it. The press and the public both misinterpreted Marilyn's actions/moves. The world proved very cruel place for Marilyn. After seeing her posthumous character assassination one feels this world did not deserve Marilyn.

It was a showbiz style and nothing more. However people made stories out of it. I feel lot of pain whenever I recollect how harshly some people treated her. Though Kennedys did not kill her they treated her very badly. Even though they were aware of impending danger to her life from mafias they did not provided any protection to her.

They didn't understand. It wasn't her dress that was her skin, but her skin that was a piece of clothing. It was her skin that prevented her from being naked So piercing and breath-takingly beautiful

I think I understand something... There are a lot of fake quotes on the net but, (if this is a real one), it goes: "I've never fooled anyone. I've let people fool themselves...they would invent a character for me. I wouldn't argue with them." Compare with the "Caricature of herself" comment and the way she sings happy birthday. (Around 8:20 ish)

Angleton-like character (tall, thin, trench coat man )appears as a senior CIA executive in An American Affair, which is loosely based on the real-life relationship between President John F. Kennedy and Mary Pinchot Meyer, ex-wife of Agency covert action chief Cord Meyer.Mary Meyer was killed in 1964 under strange circumstances, and Angleton had an odd role afterward in keeping the presidential affair quie A Very Private Woman:The Life and Unsolved Murder of Presidential Mistress Mary Meyer

This isn't really a documentary, it doesn't document what happened; the language is too flowery and suggests things which aren't fact nor is any factual reason given for such suggestions.

WOW, this reminded of: "The present world is only an illusory pleasure: you are sure to be tested through your possessions and persons; you are sure to hear much that is hurtful from those who were given the Scripture before you and from those who associate others with Allah (God). If you are steadfast (have sabr) and mindful of Allah (God), that is the best course." (QURAN, 3:185-186) Nothing more to say...

However, after Lawfords ignorance to MM's cry for help,HW ignored him. He drank himself with guilt and booze and was reduced to only game shows if that. Sinatra let him go in a flash, not because JFK did not stay at his Pam Springs home but because Lawford let her die,and he did because he was just as drugged up as she. He did not call an ambulance,he called her lawyer...He even said on his deathbed he would never say what happened. I think he could not admit his own guilt.

More bullshit about her, the un-reachable one , He, the Doctor, who had fallen so madly in love with her, he wanted nothing other than to own her, he , listening to her breathless, childlike voice made him feel useless both as a Doctor and a Father figure, he so wanted her to embrace., as lover, he could fulfill Both tragedeys! All of his work, ruined. Along with his adoration for her. He was falling into her mind, her voice her movements, her.
