How wonderful to have further insight on the musical genius and the man - Maurice White - founder of my favorite band, the iconic and pioneering Earth, Wind & Fire (EWF) whom The Kennedy Center just honored. It upsets me that when Maurice White died the media did - not - give his death the large amount of respect and media coverage that it deserved. EWF are Rock, Soul, World Music, Pop & RnB music pioneers who were highly influential.

Wow! I absolutely can't wait to read your book, Marilyn. What a journey it must have been with Maurice. To the world he was a musical genius and gave us a tremendous gift in the form of the "elements", which I'm proud to say is my favorite band in life, having grown up on their music. To you he was/is soulmate and that is an eternal bond. He may have transcended but his legacy lives in timesless music that continues to inspire and uplift. Thank you Dr. Pei for this interview and helping to bring the story of Marilyn and Maurice to the world. May Maurice continue to rest in power.

wow what a beautiful love story, I think Maurice and her were a perfect match, I can see her love for him, Marilyn still looks nice, and she was fortunate to have that life style with the genius Maurice, wow I did not know he wasn't there for his kids, back then musician did not take there family on the road , now a days kids go everywhere with their famious parents, still I love Maurice since I was 13 years old 1973 and the rest of the band, seen them back in 1976 and 1979 I was a teenager, Maurice never talk about his family maybe once he mentioned about his girlfriend Marilyn, but she is his common. law husband, I love the way she still loves him, and we as fans love and miss Dr. Maurice white, thanks for the wonderful concerts , the great beautiful music you wrote and left for us to hear, Marilyn thanks for sharing your love for Maurice, and may Jehovah be with you and families and friends, Jehovah said there will be a paradise, you'll see your Wonderful man the love of your life again.

Tee Talks the Real she is not a white woman, Marilyn white , are you sure about that????, yes I think Maurice said they had problems,. she was unhappy or depressed, in one of his interview back in 1988, but like anything he said you work at it, I still think this was a love story about there life, plus Maurice was a private man actually all. the EWF, in the 70s they really did not talk about there private life. any way I thought she was being honest about Maurice and you are right maybe they solve that when Maurice was marry and with her husband before they got together. it's really not my business, I believe in the hope of paradise Jehovah said the unrighteous and righteous will be resurrected.

It is a wise woman to be Maurice's wife. I thought it was a very beautiful woman when I was young.Since I am still a Maurice fan I thought that Mrs. Marilyn, who was loved by Maurice, envied.

I can feel the love you had for the great Maurice White. However, in his biography he stated that he never ever got married and didn't have time to commit to women or his 3 children which was one of his biggest regrets. He stated in his biography,"My Life with EW&F", that you both did in fact live together in his condo in Los Angeles but never married. He does write explicitly about you in his book. He stated how you gave birth to his second child Kahbran (KB). He stated in his book that his soulmate was the mother of his youngest child Eden White. Therefore, some of your statements contradict what he wrote in his bio.

I fully agree and when watching Maurice's celebration of life...it seemed like it was all about Marilyn, with no real thoughts to his other kids, I also read his book and the fact that his soulmate was not Marilyn but Edens Mum...he already had a daughter so I don't doubt they had a special love but I believe he loved all the women and his children and the real talent was from his heart and the band...no one can ever replace earth, wind and fire but I will read Marilyns book in full...

Hi, I never seen a picture with Maurice and his wife Marilyn. There is only a picture of Maurice and a black lady , but I think her name is Wynonna Smith , but sometimes under the picture is the name Marilyn White. To me Marilyn looks Caucasian. Have you read anything in his bio about that? Just wondering………

@@beautyRest1 she's not Caucasian. However, his youngest son's mother is Caucasian., Eden's mother, he called her his soulmate in his book. She was one of Earth Wind and Fire's wardrobe designers.

@@SportyGirl811 thank you. She looks white and the picture they blended in when they were younger you can really see it ( at least to me) and she talked about their 3 children. Anyway…..maybe I buy the book. I’m from Germany, live in the US now. Years ago I met Maurice and their road manager at that time. Can you recommend the book?
