Thank you so much for doing this documentary. My memories from infancy throughout my childhood included so many from Marin Town & Country Club.

I have wonderful memories from the 1940s. Many times and several cabins. Thank you dear Stan.

I used to go here with my family in the late 60's - early 70's. I remember the scary high-dive and the rickety old snack bar. I drove by it a few months ago and it's still there... all boarded up and covered in no trespassing signs. Thanks for this wonderful video.

We used to play cards every Sunday where the dance floor was. When I turned 21, I ordered a drink but the bartender said it was a false ID. I went to MAX who interceded for me. He's a great guy. Glad to see he is still ticking. When the sun went down, it was off to Sausalito for great jazz and dancing and looking for girls.

I have traveled almost every road, trail, path, off beaten nook, valley, crick, creek, crook- whatever, that my home town had to offer and yet I was always terrified of this mystical place. I will be walking through your neighborhood folks.

The first place my family lived after we immigrated to the United States in the summer of 1961. Then went there a number of times for family fun, and group picnics... So sad to see this video, but glad it's on here.

My fondest childhood memories are rooted here. I remember so clearly hotfooting it across the pavement, barefooted, over to the snack bar -- an old wooden building with screened windows and swinging screen doors -- to buy a popsicle. A "missile" to be precise. Then there was the ancient firetruck that we were challenged to play on, the scorching metal monster, heh. There was the small grotto swimming pool with gnomes and frogs perched around it. I almost drowned in that pool -- there were no lifeguards (the good ol' days, before liability, hah). I was showing my big brother how I could jump in the deep end and pop back up. Then on one jump I didn't surface and he jumped in and saved me. It would be criminal if they develop this into a hotel and apartments. Wah!

That’s going to be us one day. People asking us and looking back at our memories and thinking that we had it so much easier then them.

Sandra says, had way too much fun here! Senior year picnic and following years we would come over and just have good clean fun. Maybe even cut school in senior year and come over w/ our handsome boyfriend.

Does anyone remember the Olympian Day Camp? My Dad sent me to there at MT&CC for a couple summers in the late 60's.

My mom was cocktail waitress and I played with all the Friedman kids. I loved them.

I wish they would restore this place to how it used to be, or it would have been nice to grow up during this time. I'm sad someone painted the bridge that goes over there pink, it looks ugly and I'm all about preserving what's still there.

The most salient question is the one that was never asked nor answered: "Why, why if you had a vibrant and flourishing business that was thriving would you ever have closed it and then let it stand still in time to rot away?" Made no sense whatsoever. While one can't go back in time, I can only hope that it remains zoned recreational and that it is NEVER, EVER developed into housing!!!
