Took a while to figure out you were referring to a "FAD" or fish attracting device. Not all your subscribers are familiar with the local fishing vernacular - so it helps to explain when using terms or acronyms!
Me too, I was like I had no idea what Brad was talking about when he said fad. I put closed captions on to see if that helped and it came out fat, so no.🤣

My dad didn’t spend any time with me and I think it’s absolutely awesome that you are teaching your son, the love of fishing and spending time with him, showing him how a father loves his son. i’m 58 years old and I still don’t know if my dad even loves me. I pray that you continue to spend as much time with Kelton as possible, and teach him to follow in your footsteps. What you’re doing is truly a sign of a man of God, who is showing other men how to be a real father.
I'm 58 too. My dad died back in 2015 and when he was not being abusive, he was usually plopped in his recliner watching football. I have two sons that are 11 and 15. I wanted to avoid doing the wrongs things and concentrate on doing the right things with them, but they couldn't care less. I divorced their mother in 2016 and she loves to infantalize them. My new wife I married in 2022 has also tried working with them and taught them a few things, but even she has noticed how they really could not care less. We are both to the point of giving up and just doing kind of a benign neglect.
@@akonitony2 Never give up! Value your kids even if they might be in the stage where they are blah about spending time with you. It'll get through to them eventually.

so many great memories were brought to my mind from when i was younger fishing with my dad and grandpa. Now i'm taking my son fishing with me, and looking forward to days like this with him! Great job Dad Brad! tight lines my man!!

this is what being a DAD is all about. We remember that our Dads loved to take us out with us, and we want to pass that on for our kids......every DAD everywhere!

I’ve had that moment. I grew up fishing fresh water and salt water. As years past. My dad moved inland and I ended up with the boat. Sometimes when he would visit, we’d run out to the jetties. At one point, he’d caught a hard head catfish. I told dad just to hold it over the side and I’d unhook it to keep from getting the boat slimy. As I leaned over the side, it hit me. I’m unhooking fish for my dad. Life has come full circle.
This is just great father/son time. Love to see it! Hope to be able to purchase a boat and do this with my son too soon. Very cool to watch your interactions. Friends and memories for life!
Young lad fishing with his dad. Brings back very fond memories of (saltwater) boat fishing with my own dad. He's retired now but still (freshwater) fishes regularly.
Great job putting the boy on all those Spanish Mackerel; sure he'll remember that day ! It's always a great day when you get to watch the kids catch so many fish.
This video brings a tear to my eye for several reasons. 1st it was great to see the son out catching his Dad and being the first mate and eyes in front of the boat, but also sad for BBB, because y'all were eating all that mayo and sour cream enriched dip without him😢😂😂😂😂
Did I miss the Marine Patrol showing up??? From what I seen they spotted it and tried to call it in, but no one taken the call and they did not leave a voice mail... I think you should have called 911 to report it to a human as it is a danger to boats/boat operators...

Go Gamecocks! My family was actually at the USC-UT game this past fall! Just like you are teaching your boys to be Vols, my girls and son are all Gamecocks! My oldest daughter(9) loves watching your videos with me.
When we fished for mackerel back up in NH, we would catch one then tie an inflated balloon to the fish and turn it loose, usually it would find it's way back to the school and made it easy to track the school. They weren't Spanish though, we used these mackerel for bait for big Bluefish.
Your son should definitely join you more! Why didn't you try the FAD to find out what was hanging around? Might as well take advantage of it. Too bad it's not deeper so you could fish it without a hazard.
I would of thought that you could use the vhf-fm radio channel 16 to reach somebody about dangerous item in the water and then move to another channel to give the details. Just thinking of this option being a former Coastguard man.

I doubt someone put that there to fish around. Its probably part of a Hatian Refugee boat or just regular trash from Mexico. But the Marine patrol can be found at the sandbar or where the young girls are . If you had a open beer they would have the homeland security and the coast guard all inside the boat . Hitting something like that can stop a small boat like hitting a oak tree in a car . throwing people out of the boat if the boats going fast.
Plant the fish scraps in the soil for fertilizer for your garden Brad. It'll help it grow better and add some water with it about one to two pictures of water.

I think that Makeral would be good canned with some whole garlic and peppers in top grade olive oil. Or pickeled with chopped garlic in mustard sauce. But the Young Captain brought home the Groceries for sure.
You gotta be careful when you do this. I took my kid one time about thirty years ago. He caught his limit, I caught 4 and I’m still hearing about it. He’s thirty nine now. Good Lord.🙄
Title was a teaser. But I love fishing with kids. I have done a few like that. I now only have one of that age. It is a special time to fish with them. Trust me. I have a 23 yo, an 18 yo, and a 5yo. Enjoy it while it lasts. Because it rarely does.
